"Here are the rings that you ordered."

Chanyeol had specially ordered a custom made couple rings for him and Baekhyun. It is made of white gold and gold together with a special imprint.

Chanyeol smiled.

"I'm already late for a date, can you please wrap it fast?" Chanyeol said.

"Okay Sir, five minutes."

Baekhyun is waiting for him at the ice skating rink in Lotte World. He wanted to surprise him with the proper rings and ask him to come with him to America.

Chanyeol walked as fast as he could through the streets of Seoul. It's crowded with a lot of people since Valentines is approaching. He walked passed an electric store, a lot of people are gathering around to watch the televisions displayed.

"Famous Kpop Idol Kim Taeyeon of the group Girls Generation..."

Chanyeol stopped and turned to one of the television. It's the entertainment news program.

Taeyeon?

Chanyeol ended up watching the whole news segment. He still couldn't believe what he just heard.

This can't be happening...

His heart felt like it was broken into pieces, it hurts.

Baekhyun is waiting at the ice skating rink. He glanced at his watch, Chanyeol should be there an hour ago but he's nowhere to be seen.

Chanyeol-ah, where are you?

He sat on a bench and hugged himself. The night is getting colder. He kept on waiting.

2 hours later...

Chanyeol still hasn't arrived. Baekhyun took out his phone and started dialing.

"The number you have dialed could not be reached at the moment..."

Baekhyun shuts his phone off in frustration. Chanyeol never breaks his promise. So he decided to keep on waiting. Baekhyun is shivering badly. He hasn't moved an inch from the bench, but still no sign of Chanyeol. Suddenly someone taps his shoulder. Baekhyun turned around. Sehun is staring at him. Luhan is standing right beside him.

"Sehun..."

"What are you doing here alone? It's cold."

"I'm waiting for Chanyeol..."

"How long have you been waiting here?" Luhan asked.

Baekhyun sneezed before answering. "Almost 3 hours..."

Sehun's expression's turned dark. "He made you wait for 3 hours?!"

"It's okay..." Baekhyun said

Sehun shook his head.

"It's late, let's go home. You've waited here long enough. I don't think he's going to come."

"I promised him that I'll wait, no matter what." Baekhyun insists.

"But you're going to get sick!"

Baekhyun ignored his cousin.

Sehun sighed.

Another hour later...

"Hyung, I don't think he's going to come."

Baekhyun looked around the park. No Chanyeol.

"Let's go home."

The next day, in the office.

Baekhyun sat at his chair and stares at Chanyeol's desk. It's empty. It's already noon and Chanyeol still hasn't entered the office. Baekhyun is so worried. He's worried that something might have happened to Chanyeol.

Where are you?

"Baek" Minseok called.

But Baekhyun is lost in his thoughts.

"Baekhyun-ah!"

Baekhyun turned to Minseok. "Yes hyung?"

Minseok shook his head.

"I need to submit this to Ms. Choi Sooyoung at the Accounting Department. Can you come with me? She's kinda scary."

Baekhyun gave him a wry smile, "Okay."

Accounting Department...

The elevator door opens. Baekhyun and Minseok walked out. But Baekhyun stopped as he saw a familiar face.

"CHANYEOL..."

Chanyeol looked up and their eyes met.

Baekhyun walked towards Chanyeol.

"Why didn't you come yesterday?" he asked.

Chanyeol didn't answer.

"I was really worried about you. I can't even reach you on the phone." He continued.

Chanyeol kept staring at him.

"What happened?" he asked. He can feel something is wrong.

Chanyeol took a step backward.

"CHANYEOL..."

Chanyeol looked around him. There's no one but them and Minseok who's been standing there with a confused face.

"CHANYEOL..."

"Are you playing with me?" Chanyeol suddenly said.

Baekhyun was shocked.

"What are you talking about?"

Chanyeol shook his head. "Stop acting innocent, Baekhyun."

"I don't know what you're saying..."

"Am I just a substitute? A rebound?" he kept on asking.

Baekhyun stared at Chanyeol, his expression was serious.

"Am I just a joke to you?" He continued.

Baekhyun stared at him, confused. He has no idea what Chanyeol's been saying.

"CHANYEOL, you know how important you are to me..." Baekhyun said. He reached forward to touch Chanyeol's hand but Chanyeol pulled his hand away. Baekhyun was so surprised and hurt.

"Enough. I don't want to talk to you right now." Chanyeol said.

Soon the elevator door opens, more people rustling out. Chanyeol took the opportunity to leave.

"CHANYEOL!" he called but Chanyeol is already too far ahead.

"What is going on?" Minseok finally asked with a confused face.

"I don't know."

Baekhyun and Minseok returned to their office after submitting the documents to Ms. Choi. Baekhyun hoped to meet Chanyeol in the office but he's not there. He sighed and sat at his desk. Chanyeol's words playing in his head.

Am I just a substitute? A rebound?

He's trying to think why Chanyeol acted that way. He ended up crying.

"Baekhyun!" Yixing called.

Baekhyun quickly wiped his tears and looked up.

"What is it Hyung?"

Yixing looked at him, his face was pale.

"Did you break up with Mr. Park?" he asked.

Baekhyun looked at him confused.

"No I didn't. We're still together..."

"But..." Yixing paused.

"...they said that you're engaged to someone else."

Engaged?

"What are you talking about Yixing? I'm not engaged to anyone."

"They said you are. It's all over the place."

"Who are these 'they'?" Baekhyun asked now rather pissed.

Yixing turned his computer screen to Baekhyun.

"The media."

Baekhyun stared at the computer screen. This is shocking.

'FAMOUS KPOP IDOL KIM TAEYEON OF GIRLS GENERATION ENGAGED'

Baekhyun gulped and read the news.

'Beautiful and talented Girls Generation leader Kim Taeyeon announced that she's engaged. .."

"What the hell is this?!" Minseok shouted from behind.

Baekhyun shook his head. Now he understands why.
