Chapter Fourteen
Alan's POV
I had to do something. It had been over a week now since the incident at the restaurant. Susanna had called a time or two but her calls were screened. I think she'd tried to come by once, but we'd all been gone. Joey tried to pretend like everything was okay, but I could see the hurt in his eyes. Caleb and Chad were also doing everything they could to get his mind off it. It was easy to say we were all still really upset with her.
However, I had had people tell me that I was like the glue or the father figure of the band. I kept everything going. I guess I was about to live up to that thought.
I got out a laptop and started a video chat screen. I knew better than to do this with any of the others here. I dialed Susanna, and waited. Something didn't seem right about all of this. Now to find out what was really going on here.
Susanna's POV
I was in my bedroom, feeling rather gloomy. I had a single serve container of chocolate frozen yogurt, stuffing it in my face as I attempted to read a book. The first chapter was tugging at my heart strings and I was wiping tears from my eyes, when my laptop dinged. I leaned over and pulled it next to me. A video chat? From Alan? My throat tightened from nerves. What could that mean?
I quickly tidied up around myself and made sure my face was chocolate free. I hit the answer button and braced myself. Alan's image came up on the screen and his face was one of complete seriousness. I could see the anger written on his face. I couldn't handle it, tears came rolling down my face. "I'm so sorry." I blubbered out.
I saw his frown weaken. "Sus, what do you think you were doing? Don't you know you hurt Joey?"
"Of course I know. B...but I don't know why he got so upset." I gasped out.
Alan rubbed his temples, his voice softer now, "I can't stand a crying face, Susanna. Come on. Tell me what happened."
I took a deep breath, and started in, "I was wanting a new book a friend back home had told me about, one about prayer. So I went to the bookstore and I met Max. I always just assumed since he was the owner he must be really old." I could tell Alan wondered where I was going with this. "Well he asked me if he could ask me a question. He's been dating my roommate, Madison for a couple of years now and he wanted to propose to her. He wanted my help in the planning of it, since she wouldn't expect me to be involved. That's why I was at that restaurant that day with Max when you guys came in and saw us together."
Alan was nodding now. "Okay that clears a lot of things up. You know you should have just told us that. I guess everybody just over reacted. He's like our little brother so we get protective of him. But you've become like family too, Susanna. We can work this out. How do you feel now?"
I gave him a smile, my tears feeling dried up now. Though my mind still rung with doubts. "Actually I do feel better. Thank you, Alan."
Alan was looking at me closely, I could tell he was searching my eyes. I froze up, he knew I was leaving something out. I saw his mouth open to ask me something else. Like what I was leaving out.
Joey's POV
I had went over to Caleb's house for a Magic School Bus marathon. Yeah, I don't care if it's a kids show it is awesome and educational. And it helped me get my mind off... things.
I said bye to Caleb, Kelsey had went out with some friends to give us some bro time. And started jogging back to the studio. When I got there I could hear Alan's voice in the living room. Who could he be talking to? I knew Chad and Fallon were out doing something, so that ruled him out. I walked in and saw he was doing a video chat. My heartbeat stilled for a second, then picked up speed quicker than before, when I painfully recognized the face on the screen.
I could tell she'd spotted me, because her gaze left Alan's and locked with mine. Time seemed to slow down. Alan turned and saw me. Before either of us could even breath a word, I saw pain come into Susanna's eyes. She cried out, "I'll never forget that!!" With that she slammed her laptop lid and her image vanished from the screen.
I crossed my arms and looked at Alan. "Why were you talking to her, Big Al?"
Alan scooted over on our tiny couch and I sat down. He began to explain. "First off. Susanna wasn't on a date, Joe. She was with Max trying to plan his proposal to his girlfriend of several years. Who just happens to be Susanna's roommate, Madison." He paused here, taking in my expression.
"Oh man. Really?" I rubbed my forehead. "I really did it know." I thought for a second. "So what did she mean at the end there? When she screamed she'd 'never forget that'."
"See that's the thing. She got all that off her chest and I could tell she was still hurting about something. I was just about to ask her what else was wrong when you walked in. Well you saw the rest. She said she was sorry for upsetting you. She didn't know we'd think they were on a date."
"Wow. I messed up. What do I do, Alan?" I said, pleadingly. "What do you do when you upset Brycie and want to make her forgive you?"
"Well we have several options..." Alan said, laying out some possible plans.

Author's Note:
All thanks for the idea for this chapter goes to the wonderful Godslittlelight.
Thanks for giving me this brilliant idea and letting me flesh it up.
Also, I thought it would be fun to throw in Alan's point of view for this chapter. Since he played such a significant part, he was another fun character to be. :) On a random note, spell correct on my Kindle is sometime a wackadoodle. It tried to correct yogurt and make it Soviet.... Okay. Thanks for ready, lovelies! Until the next time, bye bye.
(P.S. - I had chocolate so I'm hyper! :) )
