Chapter Forty-Four
Susanna's POV
The concert last night was the perfect end to the Treasured tour. I think we are all looking forward to when we can relax a little bit. The four contest winners get to spend a week here in Nashville. They will be occupying two two-bedroom apartments down the hall from my apartment for the week. As an extra fun part fir them, each of the four girls gets to choose how they get to spend a day with Anthem Lights. Then their last full day here, we have a surprise or two up our sleeves.
Elle's turn came first. For her day with the boys she chose to simply hang out and be crazy with them. Something they are the ultimate champions at. They also jammed out, and then showed her around Nashville, ending the day by stopping at a nearby Starbucks and just talked and sipped coffee for over an hour.
Next came Eliora who chose a variety of things, including challenging the boys to a game of dodgeball. A brave girl that Lori. She also wanted to be in the studio with them. Joey and Alan gave her lessons in playing the guitar, Chad singing (those two had a lot of fun with that), and songwriting and piano with Caleb. Then as if the softball wasn't enough, a Mario Kart battle broke out with a side of chicken fingers and Mac & Cheese.
Maggie's day came next. She and the guys sang along, even doing a recording in the studio. They then had a rather long (and humor filled) Disney Marathon. Which of course, Aladdin had to be the first movie to watch. I mean it has carpet rides and starry nights and everything.
And finally Elisabeth. It still surprises me that she is the same girl from the Christian book store that gave us directions. I mean seriously that was such a God thing! She decided to have Chick-fil-a with the band, and she told them how they had impacted her life. Then they just hung out and watched random movies together.
Since all the girls had had there share of time with the guys, it was high time for girl time. To be honest I was thankful for it, that way I could help with all the last minute preparations for Madison's wedding in just a small matter of days. Finally with every thing close enough to being finished I told Eliora, Elle, Maggie, and Elisabeth about the plans I had in store for them.
We made our way downstairs to the recreation room in the apartment building. Four big baskets awaited them, and plus chairs sat in front of a big projector screen. Not to mention a good supply of snacks and tasty edibles. Before anything else we joined together to sing the George Twins fantastic song, Beautiful.
Each girl opened her basket which was personalized just for her. I had made each of them a little something with their own favorite Bible verse on it. Each basket had something in it with their favorite color and a book that was a favorite of theirs (Max's contribution). Among the other things in the basket, was one thing that each girl had. A signed copy of The Song DVD, signed by Alan himself, and even his co-star Ali Faulkner.
We watched a few movies and snacked on ice cream, then made our decision about what we go dressed as at the party tonight. Everyone dressed up as a Disney character. It was a blast as we all danced and sang Disney karaoke.
The party was over and soon we all headed back. We were tired but happy. The girls would be leaving the next day.
As I laid down in my bed, I smiled. "Thank you, Lord. For every opportunity you have given me."
