Chapter Forty-Five

Susanna's POV

I'd already waved away at a leaving bus carrying family and friends. Now I'm doing it again. All us girls have swapped cell phone numbers and I noticed Phillip, Stephen, Nicolas, and Timon talking with the girls. I feel safe in saying those girls got the Chosen boys interests. I turn when I hear someone saying something behind me. I turn to see a smiling Joey, looking at me with those perfect blue eyes of his.

He puts his arm around me as the girls finishing putting their bags, filled with both stuff they brought and new things they got while down here. We each hug one last time and they board the bus. Joey and I stand, quietly watching the bus vanish out of sight into the beautiful skyline.

It's late in the day and the sun is setting. It reminds me so much of my first night here in Nashville. Just like a movie playing through my mind I see it all again. Me, more than half scared to death, getting of in a totally new town. And a big town at that. My pink pepper spray can from the grizzly/teddy bear of a bus driver right in my hand, a guitar across my back.

Running, quite literally into a guy wearing a hoodie and sunglasses, and almost spraying him down with pepper spray. I look over at Joey. My very own knight in shining armor. I hate to even think of what would have happened if I hadn't run into Joey that night. None of this crazy, beautiful, wonderful adventure I've been on so far would have even happened.

I feel a peace come over me and I look up towards the sky. "Thank you, God." I whisper the heart felt prayer. I feel a tear slip down my face and one of my favorite verses of Scripture comes to mind.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

I sigh. I know that lots of changes are going to be in store for me. Madison's wedding is only a two days away. I'll be without a room mate. I don't even know what else is out there in the unknown. But I trust God. He's never failed me and he never will.

Joey glances at me, a curious look on his handsome face. "Everything okay?"

I smile and lean my head on his shoulder. I know that this isn't the end of my story. No, not by a long shot. It's only the beginning of another chapter. "Everything is exactly what I've been looking for."

Not the end... just the start of a new chapter :)
