Chapter Eight
Susanna's POV
I spent several more hours with the guys and I loved every minute of it.Finally, I decided I had better get back to the apartment so I said my goodbye's and went out the door. I heard footsteps coming up behind me and whirled on my heel to find Joey coming up next to me. "I'm coming with you. I don't want you pepper spraying some innocent person." He flashed me a grin and his eyes were twinkling with laughter. "Actually, let me drive you home, Alan's begging for Chick-Fil-A."
"Should I really trust you? I mean we only met yesterday." I said with a laugh.
He had a fake hurt look on his face and just swung around dancing towards a really nice convertible. "Wait? Is that the car from the "Top of the World" video?" I said taking in the car.
"Yeah." He said in a bored tone and put on an Anthem Lights ball cap and sunglasses, he lowered the glasses and looked at me over them at me. "But you know, I really shouldn't let somebody I just met yesterday ride in it."
"Ha ha very funny, Joe." He just shrugged and started the car. "Wait, I'm sorry okay. I do trust you."
Joey reached over and opened the car door, "Okay, get in." He had a smile on his face that said he was pretty proud of himself.
"Your a tease." I reached over and swatted his arm, he just laughed, smiling.
We drove back to the apartment, which took a whole lot less time this go around. "Here we are. We'll listen to your CD tonight. So do you mind if I have your number so I can call you and let you know what we come up with?" He looked so cute when he said that, I just got my phone and we swapped numbers.
"Bye, Joey. And really thank you for everything." I said with a wave.
"Your welcome, Sus." He smiled and then he pulled away, off towards the sun and Chick-Fil-A. I had to get a hold of my friends back home. They would be thrilled to find out what's happened in just the little time I've been here. I run up the stairs to our room, and into my apartment. I squeal to my room mate, "Madi! You'll never guess what happened today!"
Joey's POV
I came back to the studio with the famous chicken in my hands, tossed it on the kitchen counter and ducked for cover. Soon my band mates were all over the counter, within seconds the chaos was over since everybody had their own food now.
Alan had his spicy chicken sandwich in hand and after a few bites asked me, "So Joe. What are you thinking on Susanna's situation?"
"I don't know guys. I just really feel that God led me to meeting her. I don't know any other way to describe it. She has a good sound, I heard her singing in the diner. And the best part was how it was like she had no thought of anybody watching her, she was just worshipping God." I said.
"What song was she singing?" Chad asked as he popped a waffle fry in his mouth.
"Can't Get Over You." We all just nodded, taking in the impact of what God was doing and trying to figure out His plan in all this.
"So you want to help her out, then?" Caleb questioned.
I nodded, "Yeah. I really think so."
Alan pointed at the CD case in front of me, with the face of a man and woman, along with Susanna's smiling face beaming up at me. "Pop it in. Let's hear what she's got."

Author's Note:
I want to just put out there that I don't mean any harm or to get anyone upset in how I portray Anthem Lights. These men make up easily my favorite band. I have respect and fellow Christian love in my heart for each one of these four men and their families. They inspire me and have made such a difference in my life, they are such an amazing tool of God. A powerful lighthouse in the storm we call life.
God bless you!
