Chapter 16: Movie Night (E)

I had to reupload this because whilst trying to edit it, I accidentally deleted it. -.- So, it has less votes than every other chapter. So no, you're not just seeing things and Wattpad isn't glitching.

Chapter 16

“I want to make cupcakes or something.” Jessie urged, rubbing her stomach. I shrugged carelessly, pushing my hair out of my face. It was 8:30 at night and Jessie decided to spend the night at my house. Right now, we were craving anything sweet.

“You can make them because you already know how good I am at making cupcakes. I always forget that they’re in there and somehow, the smoke alarm always forgets to go off.” I muttered and she laughed, opening my door and standing outside of it.

“For some reason, I just think you want some alone time with your lover boy.” She said, nodding her head towards the window. I shook my head as she closed the door, laughing loudly on her way down the stairs. He wasn’t even home yet, not that I know or anything. I’m just going to take a shower.

___

“Let’s make bucket lists.” Jessie encouraged me as I shrugged carelessly. We had a tray of cupcakes on the table beside us. I raised an eyebrow as I thought about that.

“For our lives?” I asked and she snorted, shaking her head.

"No, for right now, the rest of high school and maybe even a little bit of college.” She sounded like she was making it up as she went but I just shrugged again, nodding. After, grabbing a blank sheet of paper for each of us, we started writing our lists.

Bucket List
1. Go on a real first date (with someone I actually like) for a picnic, I like picnics.
2. Get kicked out of a store, one I don’t go to because they might ban me and I can’t have that.
3. Skip school for a day and go out, not stay home.
4. Go on a rollercoaster at an amusement park, one that my instinct says ‘No’ to.
5. Dye my hair a crazy color, for example; dying the tips red or blue. Or maybe even a streak. (Or two.)
6. Dance in the rain with someone, hopefully a guy… who has abs, and happens to be shirtless but I’ll settle for Jessie if I have to.
7. Go to a drive in movie. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
8. Throw a drink in someone’s face because they’re a jerk.
9. Pull an all-nighter and watch the sun rise on the roof, it seems fun.
10. Carve my name into a tree and hopefully it’ll stay there.
11. Go laser tagging, it seems amazing; lasers and tag.
12. Have a paint fight… an accidental one.
13. Go through a drive through on foot, it’ll tick off the worker and it’ll be fun!
14. Have a nerf gun fight, if I can get my hands on some.
15. Jump into a pool with all of my clothes on, or maybe get pushed. Ha, kidding.
16. Play Hide n Seek at midnight, its dark and fun. You have to play it with people you know though; you can’t play with an ex-convict because they can shank you.
17. Have a shopping cart race at Wal-Mart or any other large department store.
18. Go swimming at Midnight, it sounds adventurous and dangerous.
19. Buy white Converse and have people sign them, hopefully there isn’t anything bad on it, though. I may want to wear them to school.
20. Go to the Zoo, I’ve never been there and I really want to go.
21. Take pictures in a photo booth with either a guy that I like or a friend, it seems fun.
22. Play Hide N Seek in a store. If you get caught by a store clerk, pull a Velma. ‘My glasses, I can’t see without my glasses.’
23. Have a scary movie marathon.
24. Have boys vs. girl’s water balloon fight… probably won’t happen. But one can dream, right?
25. Have someone win me a giant stuffed animal. And again, one can dream, right?
26. Get a boyfriend… and I repeat, one can dream!

When Jessie finally finished her list, she was snorting in laughter at mine and I was cooing sweetly at hers. You can tell that she was a more romantic girl than I was. I was more ‘fun and entertainment’ and hers was more ‘let’s settle down and have babies.’ We had one in common and she noticed that around the same time I did.

“We have one in common! ‘Have a scary movie marathon!’ Let’s do that tonight!” She said, smiling. I nodded my head.

“I’m going to go shower. You set up and find the scariest movies possible!” She said, smiling widely as she walked towards my shower with her overnight bag in her hands. I nodded and she glanced at the window before looking at me with a wink. I glared at her before I walked over to my movie cabinet and searching through it for any scary movies.

“Scary movies… scary movies…” I kept muttering as I searched the large cabinet. So far, I was coming up with nothing. I remember throwing out all of my scary movies because my Aunt went as far as to make a shrine of them overnight so when I woke up, I had a face full of ‘It’, ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’, and a bunch of others that caused me to dart out of my room, screaming and crying.

“BOO!” A shout behind me startled me and I attempted to stand up but just resulted in bumping my head and falling with a lifeless ‘thud.’ I turned around to see Adrian leaning out of his window laughing at my expense.

“You jerk!” I said, rubbing the top of my head as I walked over to the window, preparing to close it but his eyes caught something over my shoulder. I internally prayed that it wasn’t Jessie who decided to exit the bathroom in pajama pants and a bra. She’s done it before, the girl has no shame. Instead, he saw the cupcakes and he smiled at me, charmingly.

“Cupcakes.” He exclaimed, smiling at me. I smiled back, walking over to the cupcakes and grabbing one. I slowly bit into it, smirking. He watched me, furrowing his eyebrows. “Are you trying to seduce me?”

His question caused me to choke on the bite of cupcake I was attempting to chew. I hunched over, hacking and coughing.

“Is this your sick way of getting me to give you the Heimlich maneuver? You’re disgusting, Fiona. And I thought you were different,” He joked and I found myself laughing instead of choking now. When he noticed this, he proceeded to beg for a cupcake. “Can I have a cupcake? A vanilla one?” He asked, eyeing the tray before his eyes met mine.

“What’s the magic word?” I quizzed and he smiled.

“Please.” He asked, widening his eyes and blinking rapidly. I found this adorable but I decided to tease him.

“Are you trying to seduce me?” I asked, giving him a flat look and he winked.

“Yeah right, I bet you dream about me. You probably want to make out with me right now.” He teased and I snorted.

“I do dream about you.” I smiled flirtatiously at him. He nodded, as if urging me to continue speaking. “You were in a bed.” I spoke. He blinked at me, nodding. “A hospital bed because I pushed you down a flight of stairs. The magic word was pumpernickel. No cupcake for you.” I teased him, smirking as his face fell.

“Four for you Fiona, You GO Fiona! ....And none for Adrian Easton. Bye.” Adrian announced and I stared at him, shocked. Did he- did he just quote Mean Girls? He gave me a confused look before he realized what he did.

“You just quoted Mean Girls.” I informed him and he coughed awkwardly.

“No, I didn’t. I’ve never seen that movie!” He announced. I gave him a flat look before sighing.

“Here.” I said, handing him a vanilla cupcake. He smiled.

“I did quote Mean Girls.” He said. I snorted, nodding my head. He acts as if I didn’t know.

“So, what were you doing in that cabinet? And why do you have a tray of 9 cupcakes in your room? And why do you have two notebooks out? Why are there markers around? And why are you in your pajamas already? It’s only 10:30. You normally change at 11.” He quizzed. I stared at him for a minute.

“I was looking for scary movies. Jessie made cupcakes for our sleepover. We were making bucket lists and you’re creepy for knowing that.” I announced.

“You’re having a sleepover? And Jessie made these? And you made bucket lists? And hey, I get a fun show at 11 o’clock.” He smirked and I rolled my eyes.

“Yes, yes, yes, and that’s gross.” I muttered, rolling my eyes. “Now it’s my turn for the interrogation. Why are you sweating so much? Why are you even up? And do you have any scary movies?” I asked him, using the last question to benefit me.

“Some of us actually went to school for the full day. After school, I went to the diner with my friends where we ate. Then I had football practice for 2 hours, baseball practice for 2 hours, and then I ran half a mile. I then came home, proceeded to eat and then I ran a mile and then came back home. I didn’t get a chance to shower yet. And again I repeat, it’s only 10:30 P.M. And I have a whole entire boatload. Why?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Jessie and I are having a scary movie marathon and I don’t have any scary movies.” I said, raising an eyebrow. He nodded, smirking.

“Well, I’ll let you borrow my movies.” He smiled. I nodded, smiling. “But, wherever my movies go- I go.” He smiled innocently. I felt myself glaring at him.

“But it’ll be Jessie, you and me and I really don’t need you try-.” I started to say but he cut me off.

“Problem solved, Trent is actually coming over here because we were going to go over game plays-but change of plans. You do need those movies… right?” He asked, smirking. I nodded, smiling sweetly.

“Yeah, I guess we do-.” I tried to speak but he cut me off again.

“Yeah, I thought so.” He grinned.

“Is your name Kanye West?” I asked him and he furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head. “Then stop interrupting me.” I glared, crossing my arms. He laughed loudly and I rolled my eyes.

“We have a lot to talk about, and why not do it over a movie marathon?” He asked, grinning. I rolled my eyes but couldn’t deny the smile taking over.

“You need to shower first.” I said, shaking my head. He laughed before he smiled flirtatiously.

“Care to join me?” He asked and I doubled over in laughter as he rolled his eyes. “I’ll be over there in 30?” He asked. I nodded. He began walking off and he turned back.

“And that offer is still on the table.” He called and I rolled my eyes, turning back towards my room when Jessie stood in the bathroom doorway.

“Whoa.” She stared at me in shock.

“What?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

“Take up that offer.” She winked and I rolled my eyes. Not her, too.

“Aunt Cherry, can I ask you something?” I asked innocently as I approached her room, well the guest room that she stays in when she’s here. She furrowed her eyebrows.

“What is it?” She asked, letting me and Jessie in. Jessie and I already devised a plan to allow my Aunt to let Trent and Adrian have a movie marathon over here with us.

“You know how you always tell me to broaden my friendship circle? Well, I am and I need your permission for something." I gave her an innocent smile. She furrowed her eyebrows, nodding for me to continue. “Do you know the boy next door? Adrian Easton?” I asked and my Aunt nodded. This was Jessie’s part to move in.

“Well, he has this friend named Trent. And Fiona and I know them pretty well, if I do say so myself, and they’re nice guys.” She smiled at me to continue.

“Well, we made a bucket list and on that bucket list was to have a scary movie marathon. And since I threw out all of my scary movies and Jessie has none with her, Adrian has told me that he has some scary movies. He said he’d let me borrow them and I invited him over, seeing as I’d better return the favor. But his friend Trent is also with him and we can’t leave poor Trent out. So we invited him as well. But we need to do this under your supervision. Can you approve?” I asked, smiling innocently as I placed my hands under my chin and blinked rapidly. Jessie mocked my action and my Aunt snorted, looking between the two of us.

“Sure.” She said, smiling at us. “But I have a few rules…” She informed us.

And that is how I was planning to spend my Friday night: in my living room with Adrian Easton, watching scary movies.
