Coffeeshop Business

Coffee. It was important. It was a stimulator.

Stephen pulled into the parking lot of a small coffee shop. I looked up at the sign hanging over the door, which read, Coffee and Doughnuts. I smiled to myself before Stephen turned to look at me.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked me. I thought for a moment before ordering my usual. This was my favorite coffeeshop, anyway.

"A large vanilla caramel iced coffee and two doughnuts, one cruller, one bavarian creme," I said. He nodded, writing the items down. He held the paper up for my confirmation, and I read his elegant script before nodding. He stepped out of the car, leaving me in the vehicle with Whisper.

Stephen returned a few minutes later, a paper bag in one hand and a drink holder in the other with two cups in it. He placed the drink holder on the roof of the car while he opened the door, placing the bag in Whisper's seat. He placed the drink holder on top of the computer on the center console before sliding into the car. I reached for the bag before sitting back, gritting my teeth in pain. Whisper smiled, passing me the bag with my donuts in it. I took it from her gratefully, reaching in and grabbing a doughnut.

"Thanks, Stephen," I said before taking a bite out of the cruller. Stephen turned toward me.

"Pass me the bag for a minute," he said. I passed the bag to him, and he pulled out a chocolate doughnut. I smiled, shaking my head at his simplicity. He handed the bag back, noticing my smile.

"What?" He asked. I shook my head, looking at my doughnut.

"Nothing. Nothing whatsoever," I muttered. He turned around after passing me my iced coffee. I took it, and he started the car. We drove to a secluded part of the city, where Stephen parked the car. He got out, and I finished my second doughnut. He opened my door, pulling the wheelchair over to the door. I gripped my iced coffee, not wanting to let it fall.
