Face Reveal + Rant + General Things
I think that I'll go backward from what I put in the title.
Also, this is going to be riddled with errors because I'm in a hurry.
First of all, general things. After wanting to die after placing hours into drawing two different covers for my new fanfic and discovering I hated both of them, I think I've finally created one I like. With this in mind, a sample chapter will be up on in April Despite that it will not be a bright day where I live, it will be cold.
Anyway, it's only going to be a sample chapter of what I happen to think is a scene that displays the dynamic of the characters in the first two parts of the book. This scene is ripped from Chapter Three, meaning you'll see it again. I have 45 chapters outlined as well as an epilogue. In other words, it will take a while to get through.
Don't expect my updates to be consistent for a while, though. I want to have the first two parts completely written before I upload, so the rest won't be up until around the summer.
Anyway, now for the rant portion.
Today is Easter, of course, on April 1st. I'm going to quote a friend of mine, "It's like God is trying to tell us that this is all a joke."
Alright, now that I've gotten anyone vaguely religious slightly uncomfortable, I'm going to bitch a lot now about what this person I know said three weeks ago to me. Yes, I have a long memory...
I was talking to this girl who's sort of a friend but not really. I need to know someone for a long time to call them a friend and I've only known this girl since this year. I know her from orchestra and history, and she's in my gym class, which is what we were in at the time of this event, meaning I know her well enough.
She's rather Catholic, and by Catholic, I mean Catholic. I don't mean Jesuits like Pope Francis or Santa Clara, I mean Catholic like your Catholic stereotype of a holier than thou sort of person. Despite the fact I consider myself a militant agnostic atheist, I still get along with her. However, I avoid religious debate because the last time we had one, I knew she was arguing based on feelings, not facts, and that anything I said would be taken personally.
I want to get to what this is actually about too, lol. Let me give some more background.
Every day when school starts, we have daily announcements where they talk about any club meetings or whatever else might be happening. They like to end everything by telling us a joke and making an alliteration based on what day it is, such as, "Have a Terrific Tuesday," or, "Have a Frugal Friday."
On this specific Monday, they told us to have a Materialistic Monday. This isn't the first time they've said something weird like that, in fact, it's common considering that they are going to run out of decent words after a while.
Here's where my rant begins.
As we were walking out of the room and they were telling us to "have a Materialistic Monday," she said very loudly to me, "I don't like that, it's because of those stupid atheists. ...No offense."
Now, considering it was too early for me to function, I waved it off at the time and said that it was fine. I regret doing this.
I realized a few days later while in a time crunch for some English homework what she really said. This is going to sound really bitchy, but hear me out for a moment, okay? What she did was say something openly bigoted toward atheists and she clearly didn't have the self-reflective ability to know it.
Don't believe me? I want you to replace the word atheist with any other group of individuals.
"Materialistic Monday? I don't like that, it's because of those Jews."
"It's because of the black people."
"It's because of those Latinos."
Do you get my point now? I once heard a political commentator that I like state that it is acceptable in mainstream thinking to say terrible things about atheists that you wouldn't say about any other group of people. Those atheists are terrible people who can't tell right from wrong is a common one. Replace the word atheist with any other group and you would never hear such a thing come out of the mouth of your average person.
Anyway... That's enough to ruin your day with my bitching, I believe. I just wish that maybe at least one person might realize my point after reading this.
Anyway, let's get to the reason many of you clicked on this so eagerly. That face reveal I mentioned. Well... Here:
This is a picture of the entire class of 2021 at this school. I don't go to it anymore, so that's why I'm willing to post it.
Your hint to find me is that I'm wearing a red shirt and that I have dark hair. Good luck, lol.
Come on, I had to do something for April Fools Day.
