Yume POV

As I slightly open my eyes I try to gently push my self up until I feel a pair of hands help me.

I look up into Subaru's gentle eyes and I can't help but to smile.

I feel more tired than usual. Subaru already told me what Brec is gonna do. She's already been put to sleep. And I'm going to have my second surgery next week.....

"How do you feel?"
"Okay I guess.... Besides the fact that I don't really have alot of strength to move my arms."

I can't help but to take a sharp breath and look down.

"I'm sorry I ruined the whole parent thing....."
"It's okay......"

I look over at Subaru, and it looks like he's debating over weither or not to tell me something.

Out of nowere my head starts spinning. I slight shake it and look at Subaru.

"What is it?" I ask.
He looks at me, then looks down and takes a deep breath.

"I think...... At a certain point....... Brec liked me....."

I can't help but to slightly widen my eyes and feel a huge pang of hurt in my chest as I take a sharp breath.

"Y-You mean...."
"I think she did what Angelica did in Hamilton. Remember when Honoka sang a song....... What was it called again?"
"Satisfied."

(Just in case some of y'all wanna know how it goes.)

"There's lyric in the song that says,"I know my sister like I know my own mind. You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind. If I tell her that I love him. She'd be silently resigned, he'd be mine. She would say,"I'm fine." She'd be lying."

I look down.

"She pulled a Satisfied......."
"Yeah.... For both you and Honoka......"

I keep looking at my un-moveable legs.
She did tell me at a certain point after she met Sora that she had met him before.

I shake my head from the thoughts. My head still spinning.

"Umm..... A-Anyway..... H-how's Riku......." I say. My voice slowly trailing off. As I feel my eyes slowly close as my head starts to throb with pain.

"Yume?"

I soon just feel my body hit something. A worrying voice is the last thing I hear before I black out completely.

"YUME!"

3rd POV

"Wha--What do you mean?"

Subaru says. His voice tensing up.

"I mean. At this point and time we don't have a week to wait. We need the blood by tomorrow. Yume will also have to take the surgery tomorrow as well."
"B-But how will we get it?!?!? We don't the have time to get Brec's blood!"

Everyone looks at Yume's doctor as he looks down. Subaru's eyes widen in realization.

"No way....."
"It's the only way Mr. Yuki."
"But you can't! It's illegal to get blood from an unconscious person--"
"We don't have the time! It's either that or let her die!"

Subaru flinches. He looks down fear running over his heart.

Out of nowhere the sound of Sora and Yukiho's voice sound equal. Agreeing about the same thing.

"You can do it."

"If Yume's gonna be my future sister-in-law I would like her to be alive for it."
Sora says.

Subaru looks up at Sora in disbelief.

Out of nowhere Riku's voice comes out of nowhere.

"What about Brec!?"
"It'll take at least a day to wake her up."

As much as Subaru wants to yell at Riku in anger. He knows where he's coming from.

Riku truly does love Brec. But with what had happened. Brec is left confused of which sibling she actually loves. It's hard to tell when exactly someone falls in love with someone. To this day Subaru is still trying to find the exact moment when he started falling in love with Yume.

All he knows is that he realized he liked or loved her on Christmas. Even now. He regrets not accepting his feelings towards Yume back then. He can't help but to think that what if he didn't deny them. Where would they be?

Would Yume have still left?

Would they be an official couple?

Then he remembers that if it wasn't for him trying to stop her from leaving she would've never found her twin. Brec.

He looks up at the doctor.

"She will have to be given a shot in a few minutes to be put to sleep for the surgery...... But there's one problem...."

He stands from his chair and looks at the others with a straight but very worried face.

"We can't guarantee her survival for it."

With those few words, Subaru's heart shadders.

"We've contacted her parents. They've said that they'll be here by at least tomorrow. But there's still one person that I want to give us permission to do this."

He looks at Subaru. Subaru's face runs through confusion, worry, sadness. But in the end. He takes one swallow of the giant lump in his throat. Looks up at thr doctor with a stern face.

"Yes."
Is all he says.

As Subaru watches the needle get inserted into Yume's arm. He can't help but to flinch.

"She has about until the sun sets until the medicine takes effect. Yume? Is there anything you would like to do at this time."

Yume softly and slowly moves her hand up. Pointing at Subaru.

"Him. I wanna go on the roof with him until I go to sleep."

Subaru smiles at Yume.

As the others turn Yume's legs to the side. Subaru bends down so Yume can reach his shoulders. As she places her hands over his shoulders and across hus chest. They meet and she holds her hands together. As Subaru wraps his hands around her legs. Carrying her on his back.

"Do you need any help?"
A worried Rin asks her cousin.

"No. She's actually very light."
He says as he smiles.

As Subaru opens the door to the roof, he feels Yume rest her head on his shoulders. And he can't help but to smile. Gazing lovingly at her.

As Subaru looks at the sun. He sees that it's already going down. But has a few minutes to talk to Yume.

"So, how do you feel?"
"Tired. I don't know if it's the shot or my body..."
"Don't worry. When you wake up you'll feel good as new!"
He says with an encouraging smile.

Yume looks down.

"Hey Subaru.....?"
"Yeah?"
"What did you do..... For the year that I was gone....?"

Subaru takes a sharp breath.

"Well..... If you want me to be honest. It was torture honestly. I didn't know where you were. I could barley put on decent performances. Or at least that's what I thought. The guys and the fans thought I looked normal....... But..... It's not your fault..... It's mine. For not knowing what was happening to you and your body. "

He looks at her smiling.
"Anyway, you're gonna survive this surgery!"

Yume looks down. Guilt swarming her heart.

She starts think to herself.

And starts thinking about Subaru's words. And when she does. Her eyes widen. Tears in the corner of her eyes.

Nobody ever abandoned me......

I abandoned them.......

I left him......

I caused him pain......

I hurt him.....

He was the one in true pain....

And even after that.....
He wasn't scared to run back into my life.....

He wasn't scared to fall in love with me all over again.....

He wasn't scared to admit to me that he loves me......

And here I am..... Scared to say that I love him back because I'm scared everyone will leave my life again!

When in reality......

Nobody ever left me......

I left him.......

I caused him such pain...... Sorrow....... Loneliness..... Suffer.......

I'm sorry......

I'm sorry I hurt you Subaru!

I'm sorry I left you!

"Hey Subaru?"
"Yeah?"

Yume smiles as tears fall down he m eyes.

"I-I'm....."
"Huh?"

Yume takes in a shady deep breath.

"I'm sorry....."
"Huh? For what?"
"For..... Everything....."
"Huh?"
"I'm sorry.....!
"I'm sorry!"

Subaru looks at Yume with fear.

"Yume.... What are you talking about? You're gonna survive this right!? Yume!"

Yume pays no attention to him. Instead she stares at the setting sun. Her eyes getting heavy.
And right before it sets.

She says what she thinks. Her last thing to Subaru.

"Yuki Subaru....."
Tears form in her eyes again.

"I love you!"
"Yume!"

As the sun sets Yume closes her eyes. For what might be the last time. But of course. That's not guaranteed. But..... You never know.....

But before she falls asleep she thinks one last thing......

I'm sorry Honoka..... That the last thing I ever said to you was I hate you........
