Yume POV

Shiro!?
Why would he be here!?
More importantly why am I acting like I haven't seen him in years if I haven't even met him!?!?!

I get up quickly from the bed but the strength in my legs fail me and I end up falling down.

I stare down at my legs.

Huh? That's weird, it's like as if I lost the feeling to my legs.......

"Be careful Yume."
"I know. But I'm fine Yukiho."

I place my hands to my sides and push myself up. I grunt as for some reason it's kinda hard.

I stand up and kinda wobble at first.

Subaru quickly stands up and grabs onto my arm to keep me balance.

"Thanks."

He gently lets me go and I walk to the door to meet up with Honoka. Who went back down stairs.

As I walk down I only hear a bit of Honoka's conversation with Shiro.

"-ec doing?"
"Fine.....sort of..."

As I'm waking down the stairs. My eyes meet some bright green ones.

I see Honoka talking to a boy with green eyes. And has red kinda messy hair.

I stare at him for a few seconds.

"Is this your friend. The one that's been living with you?"
"Mhm. Yume, come over here."
I nod my head and obey.

I stand next to Honoka.

"Yume this is Izumi Shiro. Shiro this is Nijino Yume."

His eyes seam to widen a bit. His eyes quickly look over to Honoka and she just nods.

I tilt my head in confusion. I think she told him about a girl named Nijino(me) or somthing being sick.

He shakes his head as he clears his throat.
"Anyway,"

He turns to me.
"Yume, since you've been bunking with Honoka for over a year I want to get to know you."

I stare at him for a while. My eyes then drift to Honoka's. I see her nod her head. I turn to face Shiro.
"Okay."

He smiles bright.

"Let me go get my sweater."
I turn around and head for the stairs. I walk into the room causally. Ignoring everyone's stares. I grab my pink sweater and put it on.

I'm wearing my usual white button up shirt, with a blue skirt and my pink sweater. As for shoes I just put on the first sneakers that I see. And yes their mine.

(The sweaters unbuttoned)

"Bye." I turn my head around and say to them.

"Wait Yume. Where are you going."
"Just for a walk. I'll be fine."
I close the door before Yukiho can reply.

I walk downstairs. Halfway through I lean over the railing.

"I'm ready."
I walk down to the ground then head over to the door.

"M-kay. Bye Carrot Head."
Shiro walks over to me. Honoka puffs her right cheek and pouts.

"Stop calling me that!"

Me and him walk out and I close the door. I walk over to him to catch up. And we slowly start walking away from the house.

"Why'd you call her 'Carrot Head'?"
"Cuz her hair's orange. And I like to give all my friends nicknames. Like yours is......... Lemon Head." He looks at me with a teasing smirk. Like Subaru's when I first met him.

My blank face is replaced with an annoyed one. And my some-what bored tone turns annoyed. And for some reason I get a dark, annoyed aura.

"Don't call me that."
"Okay."
He says. His voice somewhat hinted with a bit of fear.

"Why did you want to hang out with me anyway?"
"Cause you've been living with Honoka for over a year. When she first started high school my family had to move. And you're her best friend and........." He stops

He suddenly starts again.
"I've just always wanted to meet you."
I nod my head.

"Where are you taking me anyway.?"
"To go get some ice cream by this park I know."
I nod my head.

I sit on a bench. Watching little kids run around.

I slightly smile. I love seeing them run around.

"Back." Shiro sits.
"Why didn't you want some?"
"I'm just not hungry."
"No-" He licks his strawberry bright pink ice cream.

"That's just one of your symptoms."

I stare at him in shock.

"I research a lot of sicknesses."
"Why?"
"Because........."

He lowers his arms. And looks down. His happy expression is replaced with a some-what worried and scared one.

"I have a little sister. She's the same age as you........"

He pauses for awhile. He looks down.

"She's like you.................sick. That's why we had to move. So she could go get her checkups at a better hospital."
My eyes slightly widen.
"With what?"
"With um........"

He doesn't continue. I look down, guilt panging into my heart.

"Sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
"It's okay."

He brings his arm up and licks his ice cream.

"But unlike you. She never lost hope."
I tilt my head.
"What?"
"She actually tries to live life the best she can. She's found ways to work around her sickness. And doesn't let it get in the way of her living her life."

I stare at him with a puzzled face. My fingers now griping the end of the bench.

"I think she'll be the one to show you the light of life."

I tilt my head in annoyance.

What the hell does that mean!?

Shiro-Now done with his ice cream-throws his cone away. And walks back to me. My puzzled face still lingering.

"Come on. Let's head back."

He opens the door for me. I slightly nod and walk in.

And the first thing I see is-in my eyes at least-craziness.

Everyone is gatherd in the living room. I slowly walk in. Everyone stares at me.

What really catches my eyes, is that Laura seams to be slightly staring at Shiro, while Subaru is..............glaring? At Shiro I think.

"Hey guys."
I say in a quiet weak voice.

"Hi Yume."

I watch as Shiro walks over to Honoka to talk to her. Laura's gaze, and Subaru's glare follow him.

I let out a breath and slightly lean against the wall. Feeling slightly weak now. I gently close my eyes.

We then hear a knock.

Me being the closest to the shop. Meaning I'm closer to the door I tell them I'll get the door. I walk out of the living room and into the shop. Which is empty cuz Honoka's parents had to go run some errands.

My head slowly reaches the door knob. I take a deep breath to calm my heart down a bit.

I open the door. A girl with light brown hair stands outside the door. Her hair looks bright in the sunlight. Her lemon green eyes stand out in the sunlight.

"Hi. I'm looking for my brother."
"Okay. What's your name?"
"Brec. Izumi Brec."
My eyes widen.
