Brec holds Bree in her arms. Rocking her softly. Yume once again, is with her. This time the two are alone in the room as Honoka had just left the room.

Brec is humming an unfamiliar song Yume has never heard of. But choices not to ask. Staring at the baby, wondering how Riku will even take care of her all by himself.

Worse part was, was that Riku didn't even know his wife had less than a week to live. Terrible right?

""I hope their happy, and laughing, at every new day. And if they just, couldn't take it. They won't run away.""
Brec sings softly at her child.

"What song is that?" Yume asks. Not able to contain her curiosity anymore.

Brec looks up and smiles. A kind and soft expression on her face.

"It's a song about a girl named Ayano. The hidden story in the song is that when she was young her mother and father adopted 3 orphans. 2 boys, and 1 girl. The 3 children have a condition with their eyes where when they'll change color into a deep red. They think their monsters because of it. But the girl Ayano tells them that the red color they hate, a hero wears it. And since then she always wore a red scarf. Long story short. The mother passes away. And the father falls into despair. Ayano finds out that theres more to their eyes. That they each have a power. An ability. And that one of the sources of the eye powers, a snake, has taken control of her father. Who has taken control of him because he wants his wife, and the snake tells him to do that he'll have to kill the 3 children who are no longer children.
"I know you're thinking,"How could the father do that to his children?" That's the thing. The father never got a choice as the snake imadiantly took control of him. Which gives the father one of the eye ability. Which made Ayano the only member of her family without an eye ability. When the 4 kids are older. Ayano is in her first year of high school while the other 3 are in middle school. She makes a plan with on of the 2 boys. The oldest I think. I think his name was Kido. As too how to take the snake down. Ayano does alot more investing while her brother takes her place in school.
"Long story short she figures out how to stop him. On August 15, she confronted him on the school roof top. Her brother Kido watching from a window inside. As she starts telling her father/the snake everything she slowly inches to the edge of the roof. Until she's sitting on the short fence of the roof. The brother realizes her plan and runs out. Telling her to stop. She reaches out to this weird portal thing and she says to him,"Sorry Shuya. Looks like your big sister isn't as brave as you thought she is. Truth is, I'm scared." And then she loses her grip and lets go.
"Why did she commit suicide? It turned out that if you died on August 15. There was a small chance you would get the eye ability. But I think your death had to be by accident. When Ayano killed herself she got the eye ability. The snake had to get every person who had the eye ability for his plan to work. But it wouldn't work if one of them were truly dead. And so, in the name of protecting her friends and family. She did that. And that's just only the end of the beginning of a long story."

Yume stares at her sister. Inruiged by the story. But also sadded by it.

Brec leans in.
"You wanna know why I told you this story?"

Yume nods her head violently. Brec smiles and leans back.

"It's for today's lesson. To show how far some family members will go to protect their love ones. Even if it meant they would die in the process."

Brec starts to rock again. Bree now sleeping peacefully in her arms.

"In a way I think I've taken it that far. I had Bree even though I knew the consequences. Which was this. Losing my time of life. I used to have a major crush on Subaru and Sora, Yume. And I'm positive you know that. But I chosed you and Honoka over my own happiness. And at first I regretted it but now..."

Her gaze falls on Bree. Who, even in her sleep. Is sucking on her small fist. Brec smiles.

"I don't regret it one bit."
She says. Her gaze not leaving Bree.

She leans forward to Yume.
"Yume. One day you will have to make a sacrafice for your family. Everybody does one day. And you have to ask yourself this,"Would you rather be happy but know that a person you love so much is living in despair. Or would you rather live in despair but knowing someone you love very much will be happy? I know what I would choose. I've done it at least 3 times now."

Yume smiles at her sister. Her hands cupped on her lap. Her loose ponytail slightly waving from the wind coming from the open window.

'I would chose... Anyone else's happiness even if I fell on it despair. Just like Brec.'
She thinks to herself as a silent tear rolls down her cheek.

'Her very last Tuesday.....'
