Chapter one

Laughter echoed down the streets as Kasey, Aurora, and Peter were walking back to the Avengers tower after having gone to the arcade with MJ, and Ned, both of whom had already departed their group.

Kasey had a big smile on her face as she walked between the two so that she wouldn't bump into anything or anyone by accident. "The fact that I can't see images on the screen at all and still beat Ned at DDR is hilarious. I have no idea how I managed that! I've never even played DDR before-" She laughed again.

Aurora laughed in unison, already replaying Ned's defeat in her mind. "That might just have been one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. And Ned's usually so good at DDR too!" Aurora stood to the right of Kasey, keeping her side in check of anything.

Peter chuckled, shaking his head to himself. "I'm going to get an earful from Ned later about that. I'd expect him to challenge you to a rematch at some point too."

Kasey laughed. "Watch me do it in expert mode if I keep practicing!" She joked. "I probably could!" She had a hold of both one of Peter's and one of Aurora's hands as they walked. Not that she needed it but, friends hold hands, right?

The day was nice, with the weather being perfect and the sun a little past noon. Aurora appreciated these days, where they could just hangout like normal teenagers. Even if they weren't.

Peter was glad to hold Kasey's hand, the two acting somewhat as a guide. "It'd be hilarious to see you beat like a championship of DDR. Imagine how many people you'd leave butthurt." He laughed.

She cackled. "IMAGINE! They'd be so angry! I'm sure I'd be accused of not being blind as well-" She rolled her eyes with an amused smile. "Which would be a valid complaint. Not true, but valid."

"I mean, you could take it as a compliment I guess?" Aurora thought aloud. "Like you're so good it's like you're not even blind?" She shrugged lightly. "I don't know. But you'd rock it."

Peter nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. But if they have an issue with you beating them, they can deal with all of us."

She nodded. "If they tried to beat up a blind girl they'd have themselves a crowd of people wanting to beat 'em up-" She replied. "That is if I don't do it myself." She teased.

"Hey, I think you're more than capable of teaching a sour loser a lesson." Aurora responded, before grinning. "However, it wouldn't hurt for us to jump in on them. At least, it wouldn't hurt us." She joked.

Peter laughed alongside the two, enjoying the day out. They weren't too far from the tower now, and he wondered if he should message Tony that they weren't almost back.

"True but then it'd just be unfair." She replied. She felt safe tucked between the two of them so when she felt a trace of her spider sense, she acknowledged it but didn't worry about it unless the other two also reacted on it. She couldn't "see" anything that might be the cause...

Aurora's eyes shifted around the area, a familiar spacey feeling seeping into her head. Her spider sense was pretty acute, so she picked up on things pretty quickly. She didn't speak up, but she was now on edge.

Peter picked up on the uneasiness, nudging Kasey lightly. "We should probably hurry back." He couldn't quite put his finger on what was going to happen, he just knew something was up.

Kasey gave a nod, not bothering to "glance" towards him. She could feel it a bit stronger but still... She tightened her grip on them both a bit.

She was focused on the area around and above them and so when she suddenly felt the floor give way, her stomach dropped as she fell, instinctively releasing Peter and Aurora's hands to try to catch the ledge instead but felt something snag her leg and pull her deeper inside and out of view.

"Kasey!" Aurora shouted. She cursed herself for not checking below them, but most of the time their enemies attacked from above. She barely had time to react before two hands shot out of the manhole, taking a hold of both Aurora and Peter's legs, dragging them into the sewers.

Peter tried to pull away from the arm, only to slip and fall flat on his back. It had barely been a few seconds and the three had been pulled into darkness.

Kasey was already restrained and being taken care of when they were dragged down. She "saw" them being dragged in and her heart started to race. This was bad, this was really, really bad-

Before Peter or Aurora could adjust to the sudden change, the manhole was back in place, plunging it into complete darkness. As they both got up, they were misted in the face by some sort of liquid before either had time to react to it.

Aurora's eyes widened, trying to get used to the darkness as fast as she could. Before she knew it, she was coughing, trying not to breathe in whatever was sprayed on her as her eyes watered from it getting into them. It wasn't until she began feeling dizzy that she realized what it was.

"Don't-" Peter was cut off by his own coughing. "Don't breathe it in-" He stumbled, feeling lightheaded. Whatever that was, was meant to take them down, and he regretted admitting it was working.

Kasey couldn't do anything about it as a cloth was held up to her face and she slumped despite trying to fight it.

Aurora couldn't fight it and slumped against the floor, slipping into unconsciousness.

Peter was the last to go, and he could almost feel when the other two collapsed. His last moments before passing out were filled with panic.

(This takes place about 4-5 months after they first meet Kasey for time frame purposes!)
