(Warning! Fight scene! Pretty intense and will continue to be intense for the next few chapters! You've been warned!!)
At this point, Aurora had made her way further from Matt's apartment, and was on the very edge of Hell's Kitchen. She dropped into an alleyway for a breather, and to plan her next actions.
While she was resting and making a plan, she heard several footsteps approaching.
"You really think they're still around here?" One voice asked.
"People have reported seeing them jumping around." Another replied. "Besides, they've been hitting the place back to back!"
"Yeah, boss was pretty roughed up... But he seemed pretty content despite everything. Not sure why." A third voice.
"Considering the mess? Yeah, I got no clue." A fourth.
"Well, he sent us out looking for 'em so we best find-" The four turned the corner and they froze seeing Aurora.
Aurora was catching her breath, when both her spider sense and her ears picked up the four coming her way. She wasn't entirely sure who they were, until she heard their conversation. Of course.
She locked eyes with the four of them, stepping backwards into the alleyway. "We'll I'd love to stay and chat but-"
They all quickly pulled out weapons. "Oh no, you don't!"
Three guns and a-... a knife?
"Bro, seriously?! You brought that tiny little thing?!"
"We were out of guns!" He argued.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE WERE OUT OF GUNS?!"
"WE. WERE. OUT. OF. GUNS!"
"Guys! Shut the hell up and focus!" That one turned and shot at Aurora.
"Oh no! It's my only weakness! Tiny knives!" Aurora faked cowardice before laughing.
The mocking was short lived, as the bullet went straight into her left arm. "Ow! You ass!" She shouted out, shooting some webbing towards his gun.
The man cried out in surprise as his gun was webbed and yanked from his hand, making him hold it in mild pain. "You're gonna regret that!" He hissed, pulling a second gun from his hip and all three fired at her.
Aurora's spider senses screamed at her to dodge, so she dropped to the ground. Not fast enough to dodge all three, however, as one bullet went straight into her freshly healed side. She let out a cry of pain and webbed a trash can lid over to herself.
"I've always wanted to do this-" She stood once more and frisbeed the lid towards the three men.
None of them had time to react before it hit all three of them, bouncing between them and knocking them all unconscious on the ground.
The guns clattered to the concrete as they dropped.
Aurora paused, standing up straight but keeping a hand pressed against her side. "Huh, I can't believe that actually worked." She webbed the guns together and stuck them to the alley wall, still unaware of the fourth member.
After all, she was really terrible at math.
The fourth one had managed to sneak around behind her in the chaos and lowered down to the ground and got as close as he was willing to before brandishing his knife and slicing deep and fast at the back of her leg.
Aurora gasped and cried out in a mix of shock and pain, her leg buckling from beneath her as she fell back. She could feel the warm liquid rushing from the gash and cursed. Reaching backwards, she grasped wildly for something, anything of the man so she could throw him in front of her.
The man rolled out of the way and out of reach, pulling a small throwing knife from a holster at his side and threw it at her.
Aurora rolled the opposite way, narrowly dodging the thrown knife. She pushed herself up into a sitting position, and webbed the building behind her to pull herself up onto her good leg. She webbed up the thrown knife, returning it to the sender.
The man laughed a bit as she missed, rather badly if he was honest. He drew two more and threw them at her once again.
A searing pain grew from her shoulder as the blade lodged itself there. She reached for it, but decided against pulling it out. That would only further the damage. She webbed up the second knife he missed her with, once against sending it his way.
"Ha ha, bet you think you're all that, don't you?"
The man hissed a bit when he was grazed but drew three more and threw them back at her. "Seeing as you can hardly land a hit? Yeah, I do." He grinned.
"Where do you keep getting these-" She stopped, the color draining out of her face. One of the knives had flown straight past her, the second one had grazed her face, creating a cut along her cheekbone, and third... well-
It was currently sticking straight out of her stomach, just below her sternum.
His grin widened as he stood up from his lowered position. "Gotcha." He took a step forward, pressing something on the holsters at his side and the knives lying around her were suddenly coming back to him, sliding right back into each of their holsters as he pulled the side of his jacket out of the way.
He looked up from where he was watching them to meet her gaze and his grin became predatory. Two knives were still tucked into her body as he took another step forward, looking down at her. "Well little spider, I'll give ya a choice. You either cooperate with us or I pull those knives out. You're choice- Oh-" He pulled one of each kind from their holsters.
A blue jagged one with multiple dips that would catch more on the way out and a green one with two points, sliding back into dips on either side and hooks pointing back the same way as the handle. "These are the ones that are currently stuck in ya."
Aurora watched as the blades went back to the holsters, and her eyes widened with realization. They had really made her believe that he was just a guy with a knife. She looked down at the knives currently stuck in her skin, and had to force herself to take a sharp breath. She had been holding it, and it was making her head swim.
"Cooperate..?" Aurora asked, glancing back up at the man. Pain rippled through her body and she let out another gasp. "Hah... Why would I want to cooperate with you jerks..."
"Because, if you don't," He spun the knives in his hand, skillfully. "You'll probably bleed out in this alleyway." He replied. "So, you wanna cooperate or am I gonna play darts with you until you drop?"
A chill went down her spine, and she couldn't tell whether it was from the pain, or his threats. "What would you even want me to cooperate with you for? I've got nothing to tell you, and nothing to show you."
"The boss has asked us to track one if not all of you down and bring you back to him. He's eager to see what's different about your data compared to ours." He replied. "So on the contrary, you have quite a bit to show us."
"Oh, fantastic. I'm really looking forward to being dissected and probed." Aurora quipped, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But unfortunately I can't. Full schedule and all that."
The man hummed. "Let me put it this way, you can either come back alive, or I can drag your corpse back. Either way, you're coming with us."
"My answer still hasn't changed." She growled in response. Pain was coursing through her but she took a step forward, using her good arm to take a swing at the man. She knew she would run out of energy soon, so she put as much strength behind the hit as she could.
The man stumbled backward, in shock but didn't fall over. He sighed. "Alright, you're loss." He replied before driving another blade deep into her other arm.
He swiftly moved around behind her since she could hardly move without massive amounts of pain and slashed the back of her other leg and drove it into her lower leg.
He stepped back from her and started to set something up on the wall. "I did give you a chance."
Aurora collapsed, the slashes in her legs making it painful to stand. She should've been smarter, should've known they wouldn't just send some guy out after the spiders with a simple knife.
Blood seeped from her wounds, staining the fabric of her suit. That's it, I'm making a new one- She gasped again, tasting a metallic taste in her mouth. "A chance to get locked up and observed? Yeah- No thanks-"
He sighed. "Alright then. Guess we'll be playing a game of darts then." He stepped back in front of her. "And I'm very good at darts."
He pressed a button on the holster and suddenly Aurora was pulled off the ground and her back hit the wall forcefully.
The knives in her shoulders sunk deeper in, pressing dangerously against her shoulder blades, the one in her leg pinned it to the wall, and the one in her chest-
It drove deeper in and the two prongs came out of her back, either side of her spinal cord.
Aurora's eyes widened and she shouted out in shock. Her breath was knocked out of her and she felt the blade sink deeper into her body. She had to thrust her hand upwards, lifting her mask just above her nose. She spat, shades of red coming from her mouth.
"You-" She tried to catch her breath, and tried not to cry out again. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. "You guys really are awful, huh?" She cursed her voice for shaking as much as it was.
"Well we aren't exactly claiming to be good," He pointed out, watching her cough up blood, spinning a knife in his hand. "You know, I could just... pull the knives out and you'd die pretty quickly." He told her before grinning. "But where's the fun in that?"
"Hey, it'd be a lot more fun for me." She gritted her teeth, glaring him down. It pained her that she couldn't do much while pinned to the wall, but it also pained her to have literal knives sticking out of her.
"Mmm. Bleeding out in a dirty alleyway? I bet I could add some more fun to that." He threw two curved objects at her wrists, aiming to pin them to the wall but missed when she moved them. "Oh, come now, do you really wanna prolong this?"
"Yeah, kinda. It'd give me some more time to prepare my final wishes, y'know?" She responded, spitting out another mouthful of blood. She tried to stealthily point her wrists at the man. Maybe if she could blind him, she could get these knives out and make a run for it...
He noticed her movement and threw two curved objects again, this time catching both wrists in one and them, pulling and pinning her arms to the wall. "Ah, ah, ah." He shook his head. "Not so fast, little spider. I know that trick."
"Boo. Then you're really no fun." She groaned out, pulling against the restraints. With each mom event she could feel the blades dig into her. She tried pulling harder.
Try as she might, they wouldn't budge or break loose.
He laughed. "You aren't getting free anytime soon. Those are designed to restrain Spiders." He grinned and spun a knife in his hand and threw it at her.
"Yeah, I've gathered that." She grumbled, feeling the knife go into her right thigh. She cried out and strained against the restraints, biting the inside of her cheek to get her mind off of the knives. "Would you-" She groaned. "Would you cut that out-?!"
"I told ya! Cooperate and I'll stop, don't, I go until you drop! But," He stepped closer. "if you really want me to cut it out, just say so and I will."
"Of course you'd take that literally-" Aurora glared at him, waiting as he crept closer. She sprouted a mischievous grin and spat a huge blood spit wad right at his face.
The man stumbled back, glaring at her and wiped the blood from his face. "Alright you little pest." He snarled. He swiped a blade across her cheek, extending the one from earlier.
"I was toying with you before but now you've pissed me off." He used two more of the circular objects and pinned her ankles to the wall before he grabbed the blade in her right leg and pulled it out at an angle, worsening the wound.
"I would've thought I'd pissed you off long before now. Kinda impressed you made it this-" Her words were cut short by her own scream, as she felt the blade being forcefully ripped from her leg. Her pain worsened by ten fold, and she gasped to grasp at her own breath. Her vision doubled and her head spun.
