Chapter 74: Realization of Past mistakes

A loud yell made little Ayaan jump out of his place. He hiccups miserably and hides behind his massi like a scared kitten who is shielding him protectively from getting scolded by angry mumma. Ayaan has never seen this side of his mother. She never raised her voice no matter how much he troubled him. But today he is hell scared. Even Anjali and shyam interference didn't stop Khushi.

"I NEED ANSWER. COME HERE TO ME RIGHT NOW. YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LIMIT. I CAN'T BELIEVE MY SON TO PUT THAT FAKE KIDNAPPING PLAN..DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I WENT THROUGH WHEN I SAW MY BABY WITH BLOOD..I BLAME ARNAV FOR YOUR ACCIDENT AND HE WAS FORCED TO LEAVE ME"

Khushi gets out of control when the truth comes out in open. The doctor spilled out everything about Ayaan's fake accident when Khushi went to hospital to collect his report. At first the doctor was not willing to spit out anything but Khushi tricked him and he spat all of it out. She gets terribly shocked knowing the story little master built up to make the doctor believe his parents were torturing him. As a result, he made a fake report of his fractured bones.

"I will sue that doctor, how dare he!!!" Khushi screamed on the top of her lungs.

"Di, please calm down. Look Ayaan is shivering"

"He should have thought before breaking my trust. Like a father like son. This is what I fear the most. I never wanted him to become like his father. That's why I never wanted that man near my son but I failed. Arnav made him just like him."

"Khushiji, what are you speaking?" Anjali pulls Ayaan into a bear hug but he sobs more clutching his bua. His little heart breaks receiving her bitter accusation.

"Why are you comparing him with chotte. All he did to unite his parents." Shyam took a stand for Ayaan who was crying bitterly into Anjali's arms.

"It wasn't his only fault, Di. We are equally responsible. We supported him in this plan. I admit what he has done is not acceptable. He shouldn't play that stupid stunt and emotionally blackmail you. But think wisely keeping yourself in his shoes. Like every child, he too deserves to get her mother and father's love, He deserves a perfect family." Said Arohi. Soon after the maid took him to the room as per Anjali's instruction while they were trying to cool her. But Khushi is not ready to listen to anyone. She had decided after Arohi's marriage, she would leave Raizada mansion with her son forever.

Akash overheard their conversation standing in a corner, got worried and immediately went inside to inform Karan.

Khushi broke down into tears bearing the burden of betrayal. Anjali consoles her keeping hand on her shoulder.

"Please don't go Khushiji. Chotte needs you. You both are meant for each other."

"I am fed up with my cruel fate, Di. Going against the entire society, I bared his baby in my womb for nine months when he disowned me. They put allegations on me having an unwed mother but I kept fighting for my son since I thought my son was my strong pillar. He would never let me down. With my son, I can face any obstacles. But he too played with my feelings. When Arnav betrayed me, my baby was the only reason for my survival. But I once again left empty handed."

"Don't think like that Khushiji. Ayaan never supposed to hurt you. I know Arnav made terrible mistakes in the past. But this time he is not wrong. He loves you." Says Anjali.

"Oh really? He is spending his nights with another woman and you are saying he loves me? Since the past two days he has not come home and hung out with another woman. What kind of love he has?

"You are misunderstanding him. Khushiji.. Chotte loves you more than anything. Please trust him once." Anjali pleaded. How much she wished to tell her the trust which she knew but Arnav's promise binded her.

"I tried to trust him. I tried to give our marriage one last chance but he again went to the same path where it all started. He again left me for another woman. First Lavanya and now Sunaina." Anjali went numb hearing this name. "Let me go Di. I don't want to disrespect you." Khushi went off leaving behind Anjali in deep puzzle.

Sunaina?

Anjali is pacing in her room holding her 6 months swell belly with phone glued to her ears. She is trying to contact her brother but he is not answering.

"Chotte please pick up..Agar aj der ho gayi na toh tum Khushi ko hamesha hamesha ke liye kho doge." (If it gets delayed then you will lose your Khushi forever) Shyam came inside and saw her tensed figure. He makes her calm by settling her on the side of bed and holding her hand.

"I know you are worried for Arnav and Khushi. It's Arohi and Aman's marriage today so let's wash it out. We will handle it later. The Haldi ceremony is about to start in an hour. Guests started arriving." Said Shyam.

"But Chotte. Khushiji thinks that sunaina.."

"I know everything. Arohi told me everything. You don't stress. It's not good for our baby. I talked with salesaheb. He is coming back home. Then we will handle it" Somehow he comforted Anjali for the time being. Feeding medicine, he made her sleep for a while before they moved to the hall where everyone was applying haldi to Haldi.

On the other side, Karan is feeling horrible after getting this news. The guilt keeps worsening him. He never thought the situation would turn out to be like this. The thought of him being the reason for all the misunderstanding between Arnav and Khushi killed him.

"Why are you still quiet? Say something you idiot." A girl of late 20's shouting at him for being so irresponsible. But when he didn't reply, she pushed with all the anger storied inside her.

"Sunaina, please stop it yaar. Let me explain."

"Shut up. Just shut up. Dare to speak a word. There we are searching for you like mad and you are hiding in this stupid hotel room." Suniana yelled at him like a mad and again pushed him but this time he held her hand and looked at her with guilt.

"I am sorry" Said Karan in a low voice.

"Because of you, I troubled Arnav late at night. We both were searching you from the past 2 nights thinking something might have happened to you. Why the hell did you run away from the hospital? You are still not recovered fully." She said removing all the frustration but seeing him struggling to stand on his feet without a walking cane, her eyes softened in a moment. Worriedly, she ran to hold him while he was trying to stand on his feet on his own.

"No don't" Karan stopped her and he started struggling hard to stand by himself. His face turned red, he was writhing in pain but didn't give up. She really appreciates his mental strength and above all his pure heart which made her fall for him more and more. Hr is trying for 3 years to recover from that accident not for himself but for Arnav-Khushi who got separated because of him.

Sunaina is a doctor by profession and Raizada's family doctor. For the past 3 years she has been treating him in her private clinic, hiding him from the outside world as per Arnav's instruction. When Arnav brought him to her clinic for the first time, she never thought one day she would get this much attachment with her patient. Finally the day has come when he is almost recovered and ready to stand on his feet. But it arches her heart to imagine that now she had to let him go.

"Will you take me to Raizada mansion? I want to meet Khushi" Sunaina silently smiled observing him. "Why are you smiling?" Asked Karan with a crooked eyebrow.

"From the time you are here, there wasn't a single moment passed you hadn't talked about her".

"That's because she is very special." Replied Karan, drowning in the memories of Khushi.

"You love her so much." She looked into his eyes and noticed the sudden discomfort hearing this. "What happened?"

"Nothing. Let's go." Said Karan, checking the time.

"Let me first inform Arnav." Said Sunaina and dial his number.

"No!" Came a sudden reply and before she rang Arnav, he snatched it from her hand and disconnected it.

"What is wrong with you? Give me back my phone. I need to contact Arnav. He told me not to let you step out anywhere without his permission. What are you trying to do. Let me do my duty."

"Shut up Sunaina. You are my doctor not my girlfriend.'' He immediately stopped seeing tears in her eyes. ''I mean..I.." His harsh words upset her but she gulped her pain.

"I am sorry I didn't mean it" He cupped her face tenderly.

"It's okay." She weakly smiled and held him for support and they started walking off together holding hands in hands. Karan steals glancing at her but the moment she glances back he looks away.

"How excited are you to meet her?" Sunaina asked while driving the car.

"More than excited, I am nervous. I don't know how she will react, she might not forgive me." She placed her hand over his reassuring him.

"Although I never met her personally, I have seen her through your eyes. Her heart is as beautiful as yours..When she will know the reason, I am sure she wouldn't stay angry for long" Said Sunaina consoling while he is just praying he reaches on time before it's too late.

Marriage rituals have already started. Currently Panditji are chanting mantras while the bride and groom are taking phera around holy fire taking vows. Family members and all the guests are celebrating their reunion by showering flowers to them.

Akash who stood in a corner smiled in tears. He is feeling content finally Arohi got the man of her dreams who truly deserves to be her life partner.

Khushi and Arnav are getting emotional getting the flashback of their marriage day when they officially become one. Khushi stared at Arnav with tears.

"Why Arnav, why did you do this to me? I loved you so much." She said within her heart. Her heart is clenching by the thought of another woman in his life.

Seeing tears in her eyes, he got worried. He took a step to her but stopped reading her pain.

"Why didn't you trust your Arnavji?"Ask Arnav's heart.

"Did you say something?" Khushi suddenly asked, getting restless. Her heartbeat picked up.

"Nothing." He replied, hiding his sorrows deep in his heart and turning his back." I am going back to London. My flight is at night. Don't tell it to my family until I leave, especially Di. I hope you understand. Will leave within an hour."

"With your girlfriend, Sunaina, right. He was surprised at first but remained unaffected.

"It is so easy for you to forget me and move on with someone. isn't it? Anyways I wish you all the best for your future. I wish you won't betray her like me." He silently hears her accusation but doesn't say a word in defense. This made her doubt confirm that he is actually dating her.

Aman and Arohi were announced as husband and wife. They took blessings from elders one by one. Arohi reached near Khushi and hugged her with a content smile on her face,

"I am very happy for you, Aru. Finally you got your prince charming."

"I too wish you the same, Di" Khushi's smile faded instantly listening to her remark. Arohi wandered her eyes for her jiju who was missing.

"Where is jiju?" Asked Arohi. By getting no reply from her side, she looked at Aman with fear.

At that very moment, little Ayaan came running to his momma once he saw his Papa's SUV moving out from raizada mansion. He started shooting numerous questions to Khushi. But she has no answer.

"Mumma ..mumma bolo na..Papa kaha han? Ap mujhe gussha ho na meko maalo par papa ko bulao..meko papa chahiye..papa chahiye papa chahiye.." (Say na Mumma..where is Papa. You are angry with me nah. Beat me, slap me, scold me but please tell me where he is.I want my Papa) He started screaming, stamping his feet on the floor.

"ENOUGH AYU! DON'T SHED TEARS FOR THAT MAN. HE DON'T LOVE US! HE ONLY LOVE THAT--" Khushi first tried to make him understand lovingly but when he didn't listen to her, she scolded him.

"No..No..No my papa lobe me bhery bhery much.." Ayaan objected.

"Your papa is gone. Did you hear me? He left us..He left us for that bit--"

"Stop it Khushi" Came a loud shrewd agitated voice from behind. Everyone looked at the entrance and saw Karan standing there while an unknown girl slowly led him to the main hall. Due to the crowd, Khushi wasn't able to see the face of the person. However, she ignored it and focused on her son who was crawling on the floor and crying for his papa.

Everyone looks at Karan with an open mouth while Sunaina accompanies him inside, she is slowly leading him toward the hall. Except Anjali and Akash no-one were aware about Karan. Arohi smiles seeing her Karan bhai and ran to hug him

"Beta, Calm down. We have to live without him. Before your papa arrival, aren't we living?" Said Khushi trying hard to make her son understand the gravity of the situation oblivious of Karan's presence.

"I want my Papa..I want him" Ayaan said pulling her saree.

"Enough now. If you shed a single tear for that man you will see the worst side of me" Khushi held him and made him stand on his feet. She took him in her lap and rubbed his back when he started crying.

"I am sorry beta. I am sorry for being so harsh with my Bachha. I have no other option; we must have to learn to live without him. After your Maasi bidaai, We leave for our--." Her words get interrupted when someone suddenly detached her from Ayaan and then took him away from her. This leaves Khushi odd seeing an unknown man hugging her son. His back is facing her. Khushi get hell angry. Except Arnav no-one had that authority on Ayaan.

"WHAT THE HELL..WHO THE HELL ARE YOU..GIVE ME BACK MY SO-"-

Words dissolved under her throat as soon as Karan came face to face to her. Her eyes widened as earth came beneath her feet. She went paralysed for a while, unable to make head or tail for a moment. She keeps staring at him assuming it to be one of her hallucinations.

"This is what Arnav felt 3 years back when you took away Ayaan from his life leaving him shattered" said Karan to Khushi who is staring at him ghostly. Everyone is still under shock not having any idea how this miracle happened. Arohi is the first one who came running to him.

"Karan Bhai...you are alive?" Arohi said in disbelief. He keeps Ayaan down after wiping his tears and then puts his hands on Arohi's hand giving his blessing while she hugs him happily. "I missed you Bhai"

"This is the happiest moment of my life. I couldn't ask for more. Firstly I got Aman as my life partner and now I got my Karan bhai too.." Arohi said getting emotional.

Everyone is questioning him including Shyam, Aman, Anjali except Khushi who is still unable to gasp.

"How does this happen? I remembered Lavanya had killed you and what happened to your legs?" Aman asked Karan but his eyes fixed on Khushi..

"I wish I had died that day then I wouldn't have had to face all this" He said looking at Khushi who was standing immobile. "Why Khushi, why you let Arnav go. I am asking you? Will you answer me? I thought your love for Arnav is stronger. Why did you let misunderstanding ruin your marriage? Why did you accuse Arnav as a murderer? He saved my life stupid dumb headed girl. That night Lavanya's men triggered me and all you heard from Arnav's side was his plan to safeguard me. He was actually trying to save me from that bitch but she double crossed Arnav once she got the hint about his plan. Later, his men started beating me till death and then pushed me off the cliff. As a result my leg bone got damaged. I lost the ability to stand on my feet. This guilt triggered Arnav and he blamed himself for that accident. For three long years he tortured himself. I wanted to meet you but.." He stopped saying further due to certain reasons.

After knowing the truth, Khushi gets completely shaken from inside. She is being short of words.

"I hate the fact that I loved you," Karan said, losing his temper. It was Sunaina who controlled him by pulling him back and made him sit after relaxing him.

"Haan Khushi.. Arnav tumse aur sirf tumse pyaar karta han." (Arnav loves you the most) Sunaina speaks to Khushi who stood still recalling each and every moment when she hurt her Arnavji.

"Hi I am Suniaina. Karan's doctor." Hearing this name, Khushi received another shock. Unaware of the storm bubbling inside Khushi, Sunaina kept on talking. "You might not know me but I have heard a lot from Karan and Arnav. You are Karan's friend Khushi right."

"No, I am Arnav's wife. Mrs Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada and he meant nothing to me" Said Khushi shooting a deadly glare at Karan.
