Chapter 11: Illusion and confusion

A sudden roar burst in the apartment. The table which is filled with various articles was currently shattered on the ground. The sky already turn dark and no cloud was shining anymore. Just like Khushi life which became shattered and tormented. Her world which is used to be very colorful and beautiful was now dark and cursed. Her world has turned upside down after meeting Arnav Singh Raizada. Her one mistake brought a waning inside her only sister Arohi once the truth exposed to her.

Khushi was extremely nervous about her reaction. She was holding karan's hand who sat next to her. He blink his eyes in assurance before glancing at arohi.

Arohi: ''How could you hide this news from me..?'' She roared unable to grasp the news. But khushi had no answer to her query.

Khushi: ''I..The thing is..i..'' She couldn't meet her eyes.

Arohi: ''Whose child It was..?'' She had no answer. How she will explain her she had submitted herself to a man who don't even know the meaning of love.

Karan: ''Arohi! Is this a way to talk?'' He interrupted in between and stood up to yell but khushi one clasp glued him.

Arohi: ''Bhaiya please stop defending her! She need to realize what damage she had done. In any case, this matter should be solved today. Tell me di whose sin you are carrying in your womb? Whose child it is?'' Khushi smirked bearing the pain.

Karan: ''Shut up Arohi! Mind your language..she is your elder sister so learn to respect her..you have no right to talk like that..I will not tolerate it at all..'' He gave a warning glare.

Arohi: ''Stop protecting her being her savior..It won't work..you don't need to show your concern for her..I'm still alive and could safeguard my sister..'' She retorted loosing her patience. Karan doesn't take any of her word to heart as he knew she was not in her proper senses. Anyone could behave like this being in her situation. But he cannot tolerate anyone to hurt khushi in any way.

Everything is out of order. She don't know how to react and what to do. No one ready to tell her name of that man who is the reason of her misery. But she won't give up. Anyhow she will found out at any cost.

Karan: ''Calm down Aru..'' He said looking at khushi concernedly. Arohi hold her head feeling horrible and again ask her but khushi face show no expression. She was rigid like stone.

Arohi: ''How could I calm down! She look at khushi waiting for her to say but she remain numb.

''You didn't think once before destructing all the morals values and reputation that our parents provide us for the sake of your love..if ma papa was alive today they would have died in shame by your awful act...'' Khushi took a sharp breathe and gulp before voicing out.

Khushi: ''Humne koi paap nahi kiya..pyaar kiya tha humne aur yeh bachha ussi pyaar ki nishani hain yeh baat alag hain ki hume pyaar ke badle dhoka mila..'' (It wasn't any sin..i had loved him and love is not any sin..it was a beautiful experience which made you forget everything and this baby was the symbol of our love until it turned into worst nightmare.) She smile bitterly breaking the long silence. The pain of being betrayed still stabbing her heart.

Karan: ''Think before you speak..'' He eyed Arohi for a second and drag her in a corner to make her realize the gravity of situation.

''Don't be harsh with her..you have no idea what she went through there is lot of happened in your absence..she had tried to commit suicide..that guy messed up with her life..he humiliated her love after using her.. she was so distraught with the blow..she really broke down and put herself into deep shell.. she had love him so much that it was unbearable to forget his betrayal so she get addicted to alcohol..i got her out from all those habits but she still have a bout of it so please be gentle with her..'' He stated politely. Arohi closed her eyes gulping in pain.

Karan walked toward khushi who was still standing like a statue and hold her sportively so that she could speak.

While Arohi gasped to consume the guilt for hurting her sister.

Arohi: ''Di I had no intend to hurt you by my words..you don't need to worry we will bury this matter before anyone get to know..if you love someone and that person is responsible for ruining you then he will have to accept you no matter what. She said seriously. The entire night alive in front of khushi's eyes and then the harsh reality of him next day after using her.

''You will have to marry him..'' By her last phrase, khushi trailed off.

Khushi: ''No! Never..'' She rose from her place and look away unable to meet her sister's eyes. I don't want to marry anyone..i m happy with what I got..'' She sighed. Arohi swiftly turned her to see the painful expression on her face. The look of Khushi face troubled her so much that she couldn't stop her tears.

''He..he lied to me..he cheated me aru..he played with my feelings to fulfill his sexual greed..all those promises..his love..his care..everything is bloody fake..he said he will marry me and I drowned into his trap so deeply that it was now unbearable to forgot..he used my body in the name of revenge..I was a fool to trust him and now he was supposed to marry his girlfriend..'' She said through greeted teeth. Arohi stared at her stunned for a moment. She can't believe her sister went through so much and she accused her without knowing the intensity of her pain. She was feeling guilty as was not there when she needed her mostly. She grabbed khushi in a bear hug and started weeping holding her close.

Arohi: ''I can't see you like this..you don't deserve this di..I will never forgive him..I will kill him..he ruined my di life..he will root in hell..'' Khushi smile chucking darkly. Her pain get so worsen that no pain affect her anymore. Karan eyes moist seeing khushi acting so normally. He was controlling his inner turmoil before he breakdown fully

Khushi: ''Its okay aru..don't cry..its my destiny and I had accepted it.. I had learn the lesson never love anyone so blindly or take anyone for granted so that person could back-stabbed you..'' She said and wipe her tears. No matter how much she tried but the scar always remain in her heart. No one could ever vanish it. His sins was amendable.

Her palm rested on khushi flat stomach and she cried her heart out.

Arohi: ''Abort it..'' Khushi stared at her shocked. ''Why you carrying his bloody sin..this child was a biggest curse for you..it will always make you remember the betrayal his father caused you in the name of love.. abort it di..just kill his child..''

Khushi(Furiously): ''No!!'' she screamed taking her hand off her stomach from touching her and inched back in denail.

Arohi: ''Di try an understand..how will you face this society when people question about his father and if this baby grown up and ask you name of his father..will you able to tell him how his father ditches you.''

Khushi: ''Let them think whatever they want I don't care..I cannot punish this innocent soul for the mistake his father committed neither I will allow anyone to point a finger on my baby's identity..My focus is my baby and that is enough for me to spend rest of my life..i don't need or want anyone'' She said firmly and started stepping inside.

Arohi: ''Di..'' She placed her hand on her shoulder to stop her..

Khushi: ''Leave me alone aru..! she said in plain protest and waved her off. She didn't bother to listen from Arohi or anyone. Two droplets fell on her cheeks and she wiped it instantly. She is not weak either.

Arohi: ''Bhaiya tell her to not do any stupidity..it wasn't that simple the way she was thinking..being unwed mother is not easy to cope up..all the taunts and disgrace how she will suffer alone.. '' He felt choked and suffocated.

Karan: ''I know Arohi but it was too late..there is nothing can be done in this situation..Two month already passed and abortion is not possible at this time..'' She sighed and kneel down to dissolve her tears.

Arohi: ''Did you see what she made to herself..I knew she will never let us know how she was bearing her pain..i can't see my di like this..'' Unable to bear, she took her wallet and mobile and dashed off to found any source to solve this mess.

Arnav was indeed sitting at the bar in his lounge. He wanted to forget everything. The sour relationship that had been claimed by him. He was downright cruel in his vengeance. The glass door being slammed from outside. That's when Akash entered, plastering a smile on his face.

Akash: ''Bhai there is someone who wanted to meet you..'' His voice brought back his attention from the girl he wanted to forget badly.

Arnav: ''Whose that? He asked casually.

Akash: ''My special friend..!'' Arnav raised his eyebrow by the sudden change in his features and both walked out of the lounge to meet her.

Arnav: ''Hm interesting! So your girlfriend came in our mansion for the first time!'' Akash was shocked. How quickly he guessed. ''So finally I got a chance to meet that girl who stole my brother heart..''

Akash: ''Stop teasing me bhai..she is total disaster so be careful with her..'' He scrunched his eyebrow and smile by the way he was narrating her antics. For a moment he thought it was khushi he was talking about.

Arnav: ''So you love her?'' He asked gradually.

Akash: ''More than anything...'' He smiled seeing his brother happy who is completely lost in his only love, Arohi.

He wondered how someone fall in love and lost himself for a girl. It never happened with him when he was with lavanya.

Akash: ''Bhai we truly love each other but right now Arohi need your help..She is very upset as her elder sister..she..she..'' He gushed. His voice grew tensed after that. Arnav noticed sudden seriousness gripping his face.

Arnav: ''What?''

Akash: ''Actually Bhai her Di is expecting ..She is going to be unwed mother and the man who is responsible for it left her..'' His legs glued as soon as words heard by Arnav. There was pin drop silence for a while.

''Oh that's truly bad..What's her name?'' Someone knock the door and their conversation left unfinished.

Arohi: ''Kya Hum andar aa sakhti hain..?'' (Can I come inside) She crisped under her breathe. His lips curved when a sweet voice echoed him. Her voice was quite familiar.

Arnav: ''Of-course young girl.. come in..'' She greeted him with a smile and he gesture her to have a seat which she obliquely did while akash come and seat beside her.

I must say Akash your Arohi is really very beautiful..'' He blushed. While She began chanting by which akash pinch her to keep quiet. He was trying to sign her, bhai don't like much noisy people but she was no term to stop. Arnav felt amused. Her body language, her non stop talks, her innocence, her madness everything seems so similar like khushi.

''Not again! Stop it!'' He clenched his fist and brushed off those thoughts out of his mind. But more he tried more it was getting impossible.

Akash: ''Bhai..what did you thought about it?'' Arnav was so lost into her memories that didn't realize what they were discussing.

Arnav: ''Huh..'' He looked at them with strange expression. The feeling of restlessness suffocating him. Whenever he try to take one step ahead, those memories reverberated in his mind.

Akash: ''Bhai where you lost?'' He waved his hand in front of his eyes. Immediately composing himself, he made a stern face.

Arnav: ''No nothing..I..I..she made me remember a girl which was quite similar to your Arohi..anyways you were saying something..'' She hesitated for the moment and then started when Akash sign her to proceed.

Arohi: ''Bhaiyaji I need your help..'' He look away as every features and way of talking remind him about khushi.

Arnav: ''Call me bhaiya..'' With a stern voice. ''You may proceed..''

Arohi: ''Yah I wanted to find that man who ruin my di's life..i wanted punish him at any cost...that bloody monster ..kutta kamina..idiot..i was..i was..'' She was hell angry and made a face.

Arnav: ''Hey hey relax..'' he chuckled seeing the glimpse of khushi in her.

''One more Jungli billi..'' He wondered sheepishly. He thought there is only girl exist in the universe but he was wrong. She is carbon copy of khushi.

Arohi: ''Bas ek baar vo admi hamare samne aa jaye hum use zinda nahi chodenge..maar dalenge hum use..barbad kar denge'' (Once that man came in front of me I will not leave him alive..i will kill and ruin him..)

Hastily, she grabbed the flower pot that was laid in the nearby table and threw it against arnav's direction without realizing what she was doing. His eyebrow shift to his forehead in shock and surprise.

Arohi: ''All men are dogs..I can't believe in this world such insane people do exist..that bloody devil..he dare to touch my Di for his own benefit..i will murder him..'' She charged him like she was going to murder him. His jaw dropped. Akash pinch her to brought her out from her vengeance. She retaliated back and gulped.

''Hey Devimaiya..what I have done...I m sorry bhaiya..i didn't realize it was you..i m sorry..I.thought that man was right in front of me..'' Unknowingly she attack the right person who is the reason of her sister misery.

Arnav: ''What you said Devimaiya?'' No! He shook his head. What is happening with me! Everywhere I feel the presence of khushi . He struggled to distract all thoughts that brought khushi in his mind. He would have to put extra effort to distract his mind off her.

Arohi: ''Woh..main.actually..i was..I..woh..woh..'' She bite her nails. He chuckled with a flustered face.

Arnav: ''Its okay Barbie doll..i must say akash your chui mui Arohi is really very cute..she is really entertaining..'' He smirked and got up to walked out. He thought to have a rest and then go back to some office work. Damn you Arnav singh raizada!

Arohi(With low voice): ''You will help me na?'' She asked breaking his attention. His one nod and she jumped happily and kissed akash in front of him. Without waiting anymore, Arnav moved out of the room. While akash was still in shocked by what she did. His mouth went to the perfect O-shaped by her newly found courage. He was staring her perplexed.

She was embarrassed like anything and glare him. First time she was meeting his brother and on first meet she throw vase on him. What a bombastic image she pasteurized in their first meet! She slapped herself for her stupidity and pouted.

Akash: ''Hey from where you grow guts..did you really kissed me in front of Bhai or I m hallucinating..'' Akash asked teasingly.

''I borrowed from my di..happy? Do you want more..'' She retorted and grinned. He smirked and moved his other cheek but this time she slapped him so hard making him yelped in pain.

During the last few days, Arnav was trying his level best to convince himself but failed miserably. He was standing in his balcony with a glass of whisky in his hand. His hairs was miserable and eyes lack of sleep. Since the day khushi left he found himself restless. He started avoiding Lavanya but the reason is unknown. Hours and days passed so quickly that it already one day left for marriage. Finally the most unwanted day was indeed arrived he was waiting. The day he was waiting since long it came but wasn't feel solace within his heart. Everything is going on as per he wanted from start. But still he was not getting the feeling by which he should to be happy. Arnav jaw clenched when his mind captured by her again.

He was confused. Is he doing right in marrying Lavanya? Do I love her? He shook his head..of-course I am doing right, she is perfect, crazy about me and I do love her. His heart laugh! You dumb headed.

''What rubbish I'm thinking. She is my perfect life partner and I love her..I love lavanya!'' He convinced himself and switched on his laptop to divert his mind. There is so much remorse going on. That's when his eyes fell on a folder. He open it hysterically looking at the name which belongs to only girl 'Khushi'. It was a selfie taken in London when they were in relationship. He didn't realize from where it came when he destroy every existence of hers out of his life. A smile spread on his lips playing their beautiful moments together. He touch the screen, admiring her for a while longer. He remember the day when she showed her tantrum and goaded him to take her to the ice cream parlor and instead of ice cream he munched her face by spreading ice cream all over her face. It was the first time he saw blush on her cheek. ''Their first official date!''

''Revenge is sweet..'' He laughed and about to press the delete button to control the volcano emitting.

Lavanya: ''Asr there is something I want to ask you..'' She entered and surprised to see smile on his face which she least expected those days.

Arnav: ''What?'' Still with his laptop. His expression suddenly changed hearing her.

Lavanya: ''I'm confused which jewelry could match for my wedding lehenga? please help me na..'' Lavanya insisted him with curiosity whose eyes still glued in laptop.

Arnav: ''I'm not interested..leave..'' The word that come from his mouth hurt her. She don't understand in what term there relation is progressing.

Lavanya: ''But asr I...'' He lifted his eyes from screen. An irritation flickered his face.

Arnav: ''I said I m not interested..You girls are such a pain...Back off..'' he said with pure annoyance.

Lavanya: ''No I won't..I'm not your puppet to do whatever you say..I m your fiancee..we are getting married..you cannot push me away all the time..i have every right on you..'' She argued back.

Arnav: ''Can't you understand in simple language!'' Frustrated, he shut the laptop and threw her jewelry box on the ground and stood up to leave. He walked toward the door but his step halted when Lavanya hugged him from behind. She kissed his cheeks and snaked her arms around his neck.

Lavanya: ''I know how to freshen your mood..'' Seductively she remove his coat and slid her hand inside his shirt. He clenched his fist controlling his nerves but her next move surely make him hell angry. She tucked her fingers to remove first few button of his shirt.

''I know you're angry because I m not spending time with you..baby I'm sorry..I was busy in marriage ceremony and Di strictly warned me not to meet you before marriage but i can't help it..you know i can't imagine a single moment without you..Very soon I m going to be yours in every senses and then there is no boundary between us..'' She was being in delusional world and lean down to capture his lips. Within a second she being pushed on the floor roughly.

Arnav: ''Stay away from me..'' He disappear from his room and punch the door leaving behind teary lavanya.

Anjali: ''What happen Lavanyaji? Anjali walked inside worriedly seeing her sobbing in the ground. She made her seat on the edge of the bed and extend water for her.

Lavanya: ''Di- Why I m feeling Asr is not happy with this marriage? I m noticing him from few days..he is literally avoiding me..''

Anjali: ''There is nothing like that..you was aware about his temper..due to all rituals he was quite irritated..gave him some time he will be alright..''

Lavanya: ''For a second I admit what you saying is true but what about this Mehendi? If he genuinely love me and serious about me then why my mehendi color is not dark..its a sign he don't love me..'' Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Anjali: ''You are thinking too much he love you and if he not then why he agreed to marry you..?'' She replied clearly.

Lavanya: ''Sach di..he love me..'' Her eyes glinted with a ray of hope and anjali wipe her tears, nodding her.

Anjali: ''Now smile my sweet Bhabhi..Haldi ceremony is about to start..come on get ready..'' Lavanya smile in agreement

Next day:

Karan nape's being disturbed by a footsteps coming nearer. He rubbed his eyes to look at khushi who placed coffee in front of him with cheerful smile on her face.

Khushi: ''Good morning!'' He was astonished seeing the wide smile on her face.

Karan: ''Are you okay?'' He thought of asking.

Khushi: ''Absoutely..mujhe kya hoga..'' He stare at her who was selecting clothes for him in his wardrobe. ''This suit you..'' She brought blue shirt for him.

Karan: ''Oh hello..Why you staring me? Lets get ready we have meeting right today?'' He nodded still staring him. ''So better hurry up!''

''Khushi today is ASR WEDDING..'' Her feet halted hearing this but she remain unaffected.

Khushi: ''Ohh that's fantastic.. Convey my regards to Mr and Mrs Raizada..'' He glance at khushi disappearing from his room with weird expression.

''Kis mitti ki bani hain yeh..''

Arnav was sitting in doctor cabin waiting for him to proceed.

Doctor: ''Seems you are not taking care of you..You are fine now..you fainted due to lowering of sugar level but now it is under control..'' Arnav nodded without showing any interest to what he was saying. He was not willing to visit hospital only due to his di insistence he came here.

Doctor: ''By the way congratulations for your wedding..Today evening you are getting married right..? He shook his head absent minded as mind was mingled somewhere else.

Finally all those strange avail thoughts that was troubling him since long would be vanished once he tie knot with Lavanya. He was happy that there is no boundary between his and Lavanya anymore. Khushi was out of his life and he could rest at peace after this night.

Only few hours and then Lavanya would be renown as Mrs Lavanya singh raizada. His perfect wife that any man could ever desire. She love him in the same way he loved her. Everything is perfect What more he wanted! He try to smile but his heart denying to feel any happiness. Something is missing which he yet to discover.

Doctor: ''Take good care of you and don't take so much stress..'' He nodded and went to leave after shaking his hand..

Nurse(Walking inside) : ''Dr Mehta..Dr Akshat is asking for KHUSHI GUPTA report..'' His legs halted at the ground. The same familiar name echoed in his ear. Did he hear right or it was his imagination?

He turned urgently and without any delay stepped toward the nurse in confirmation. Thousands of unknown thoughts crossing his mind. His mind was saying she is not that Khushi he knew but his heart not letting him to believe it. It could be coincident. There is not only Khushi Gupta in this world. May be she is some other girl! He guessed.

Arnav: ''Nurse can i see the report..?'' There was urgency and curiosity in his voice.

Nurse: ''What relation you share with patient..'' He was tongue tied.

Arnav: ''Nothing..'' He stated slowly.

Nurse: ''Sorry then in that case we are not allowed to gave any information regarding patient to outsider...'' He rose up on fire. How could she call him outsider!

''You are rejecting Arnav singh raizada..'' Without give damn to her, he snatched the report from her hand and open it. Nurse was taken aback but didn't create any fuss. His eyes shoot wide by seeing khushi picture stick to the front page. He was right it was khushi..HIS KHUSHI. The last word he uttered chilled him.

''What happened to her?'' He began getting panic. Holding his breathe, he open the file. Earth come down beneath his feet by what it was written in that.

''KHUSHI GUPTA PREGNANCY REPORT.. '' He looked at the report not really believing.

Arnav: ''She is pregnant?'' The news literally shake his entire form. He went motionless and his heart get shallow. It seems his breathing had stopped to pump.

''Are you sure its khushi gupta pregnancy report? He asked with wide eyes.

Nurse: ''Yes Mr raizada..she is confirmed expecting..she was doing her regular check up from our hospital from past two months but why you are asking about her..?'' Arnav's face grew cold in shock. He ran his hand through his hair frustrated.

'''That mean khushi is pregnant carrying my baby?'' He mumbled and glance at nurse. Where is she? Gave me her address..'' He asked desperately.

Nurse: ''I don't know..there is no record for patient current address'' He sighed in disappointment and check the file to found any clue about her but there found nothing.

Nurse: ''Mam work is done..Like you said I did..Asr saw your reports..he was really shocked..'' She exclaimed making the opposite person smirked in victory.

Khushi: ''Good job..'' She gave her bundle of notes and sign her to leave.

Nurse: ''But I don't get one thing why you don't show him this report directly...'' Nurse asked in confusion. She didn't reply and walked away from her peripheral vision.

Arnav drove off to a secluded spot. He drove really fast not really caring. His eyes just playing all the moments..her love..their closeness..his betrayal..his kidnapping..and then her leaving him. He join the dots and now realize why khushi fainted and what she was trying to tell him that night when he was beating karan. She is TWO MONTHS PREGNANT! He put the brakes fiercely and come out from the car.

He was feeling really stupid to not comprehend the truth when proof was right in front of him. His cell phone rang and he picked it up carelessly.

Anjali: ''Chotte where are you..come home fast..Panditji is arrived..Everyone is waiting for you..your wedding is about to start..be quick..'' She commanded. He greeted his teeth when realization drawn upon him.

He was pacing and fidgeting with his hand swinging in air. He don't know what he should do. This is not how things going to work. His mind was yet unable to absorb the news.

''Oh god what I have done? I messed up all! How I will face Lavanya..she loved me so much..She is waiting for me. I can't broke her heart..i have to marry her!'' The fact is that lavanya trusted him despite everything. She sacrifice her home..her family..her parents just to be with me..for my love..I can't leave her like this..He was fighting with his inner beast that is not letting him to take proper decision.

He fumed and his eyes splitting fire. He was unable to gasp his behavior. His heart betraying him to accept Lavanya. It was difficult to ask that ugly god because he hated that thing. Was he so cruel that nothing bother to him? Not even his own baby? A pain shot through his body. He was going to be a father! But he brushed off all the thoughts from his mind.

''No I don't care..i really don't care..Why should I care about that girl..she is gone and I will definitely marry Lavanya no matter what..'' He believe that this creature deserve better than that and she doesn't matter to him. He was the same ruthless mean Arnav singh raizada and nothing could change his decision. But It feel so wrong. His heart pinched with disapproval.

Arnav: ''No way..i m going to marry Lavanya..'' He decided suppressing those own knotted feelings. With one swift movement, he strode to reach alter.
