"Being forgetful has its perks"

Distressed from her day, college in the morning then working till the night, she returned and decided to call her mother. Anyways, it was the only number she had in her phone. Still, it wasn't saved. Her friends from work did call her but she never called them back.
She pressed the recently called number,

"Hello" He picked up the call but this time after checking the number, knowing very well that it was the girl whose voice was haunting his dreams at night as well as day.

"Oh, s.. s..sorry for calling you. It was by mistake. I was calling mother."

He spoke with a newly found courage after hearing her stutter out of embarassment once again, "No problem. But is my and your mother's number similar?"

She replied almost immediately,"No... I just haven't saved her number."

He asked genuinely curious,"Have you saved any number?"

"No" she said after a while.

"Are you insane?" He asked at last as he couldn't believe what she'd said.

"Yes, I am. Isn't it great?" And with this sentence, her sarcasm could  clearly be seen.

Two people can really bring out the best in one another. Confidence and sarcasm when it comes to these two.
