Just realized that I should probably do this...and also because I'm progressing slowly but I still wanna show more content. Here we go! (If you're interested, you can follow my insta @justemma_drw, where I drew a few strips like the one you'll see at the end)
Keep in mind, we're embracing the cliches here.

First of all, here's a cover I did for "volume 1" (like the HD version). I'm pretty proud of it because I usually NEVER do shading, and right now it looks pretty decent!

Simple premise: we're in a world where monsters/yokais have to hide, either disguised as humans, or far away from them. Before there were a lot of em, but now, 21st century, over-population of humans, there's not a lot of monsters left.

And so you have our protagonist Tsuji Yoko!

A product of a kitsune and an oni. She's lived in her family temple all her life. Her dad left for a 'very important mission' when she was two, and because he hasn't come back, her mother went to look for him when she was four, and hasn't come back either. So for twelve years, her grandma took care of her. But she then passed away because of old age. Fortunately, right after that, some of the ghosts of her ancestors appeared and helped her out. Because they had to work quickly, the ghosts buried her in the garden. And now Yoko, because she was home-schooled before, has to go to human high-school!

But then oh-ho! Monsters she's never seen before attack her! So she has to turn into her own monster form (in secret of course) and fight them off!
We later learn that long ago, her family defeated the self-proclaimed 'King of all Monsters' and trapped his soul in an artefact. That artefact was supposed to stay hidden and protected in the family temple, but her father went away with it to destroy it once and for all, for whoever has it can turn whoever/whatever they want into monsters. And to avoid further confusion, we call those 'corruption monsters'.
Well apparently her father only broke it, he didn't destroy it. And now shards of the artefact are somehow corrupting people, animals and even objects, trying to kill her, probably because she's the descendant of the family who is the cause of all this.
And that's where the magical girl aspect comes into play!

Onto the cast now!
We meet Nakano Aneko!

She's the 'poor girl living alone and working three part-time jobs' type. Most people don't know this, but she actually has a large family, they just live in the country.
So yeah, she's a total outcast. But she knows how to stand up for herself. Strong independent woman that she is. Also she's gay as fuck!

Then we got, that other one we were introduced to, Sakurai Ruri!

Tbh, I love her design. She cute.
She's the 'bully later turned friend' one. Rich family, asshole homophobic parents. She's blunt and insensitive, but we later learn she can be nice. Wether she wants to or not! She's also gay as fuck but shhh spoilers.

But I hear you, and I hear myself. WHERE THE BOYS AT?!
To counter-balance my boy-loving self, we got three of them!

Number one (my favorite), Fukuhara Takaharu! A long name for a simple boy~

No surprise, he's the first one Yoko sees and it's love at first sight for her. Who can blame her?! He's nice and charming and popular and just the wholesomest! But despite what people tend to think, he's not that dumb. He's actually quite clever and intuitive.

Boy number two! Karasu!

Just Karasu.
He shows up one day in like the middle of season 1 to help Yoko out and brings some serious exposition. But he's also a real brat, because of his crow nature.
He'll piss people off then fly away when he gets them to their breaking point.
But don't get me wrong, the guy's strong.

Number three! My friend's favorite, we don't have a name for him yet tho... I'm thinking something with just one syllable.

Yep, he's the emo one. Another new student in Yoko's class.
He's tall, he's intimidating, and it doesn't help that, because of an accident, he's lost the ability to speak. And he's just sad, and that makes me sad!
Also he plays trumpet, and he's damn good at it.

Bonus boy! Not a main character, but I just really like him.
His name is Baku Shin.

He's also a monster (a baku, duh), and Yoko instantly recognizes him as that monster that kept eating her dreams when they were both kids.
By night, he's the embodiment of 'nothing hotter than a guy in a suit', and by day, he's just a fuckboy.
