Gordon made the first move, to one of the two lounge banks separated by a saloon table. I took place on the other couch, across from him.

After the forty year old lady made a graceful sign with her hand the foot soldiers left the room.

The elegant woman then whirled in front of the desk, on which she started leaning.
"Oh lord, where are my manners. I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Lucinda Trevor, ruler of the clouds."

Clap. Clap. Clap.

My babyfaced companion interrupted her; his claps loud and fierce. He was clearly not applauding; in contrarily, he's sarcastically making his existence known. "So why were we captured?"

"Good question, young man," Lucinda played with her nail-clipper. In a blink she plucked out the sharp manicure-part of the clipper and threw it as a dart. The homemade dart passed one inch apart from Gordon's left ear before ending up in the Michelangelo-style painting.

I gasped and almost let out a shriek. Now I see how dangerous a nail-clipper can be! She looks like a professional assassin.

My companion jerked up, "What was that for!" He breathed heavily, putting a hand on his heart to calm the organ down.

"Oops, my hand slipped. It was supposed to take your ear. It seems that all those hours sitting in this Gamehouse didn't do me any good," the cloud's ruler said in an apologetic voice.
The same voice suddenly became threatening. "You know fellow, you're acting very brave and daring. However, I can see through it all, you just want to cover up your inner coward," she spat this sentence like venom in Gordon's ear.

My companion literally shrunk in his seat. The last word she said was undoubtedly true, because he averted his now glassy eyes from her.

Lucinda resumed her monologue, "That's why you don't get to ask the questions. Just wait till I explicitly say you may ask, or answer. So... I stopped with saying I'm the ruler of the clouds, however I prefer being called Milady L. It has such a perfect ring to it, don't you think?" adding a singing note to her question.

We both just stared back quietly. Actually Gordon's stare was more like frustrated to the top, though restrained to silence because of the fright for losing his body parts.

Milady L. cleared her throat, "I said, don't you think. You may answer now."

"How about you answering my friend's question first?" I sat up.

"Oh my, oh my. What do we have here? A brute? No no no, I see... another coward, but why is it that your aura switches from time to time?" She dances in front of me. I smelled a subtle perfume made of vanilla. I should have taken a shower in the hotel while I could have. How much would I stink after hanging around the prison for half a week? Do I even want to know that? I totally forgot about the cloud's ruler till she spoke again.

"I've never seen something like this... You truly are your father's daughter," instantly she had my full attention, drawn to her amazed face with hints of pure disgust.

"What are you talking about? How do you know my dad?" I moved to the left a little, expanding my personal space.

"The whole state is searching for him my dear," she laughs crazily. This woman is nuts; I can't believe her words.
"He's the main suspect of a leak in a top secret organisation. And I was asked to keep an eye on new faces."

"And we are part of those new faces?" my companion dared to ask again. Perhaps he was encouraged by me defending him.

She turned to Gordon, "What did you think, coward? You're not whom they're searching for. However, you're quite popular in the bounty-hunters-world. It says that you have a valuable item in your possession." My companion blinked a few times, wanted to deny the fact, but instead he sighs and stares at Milady L.

Now she seems to have a valid reason to capture us, of course IF what she said was true. But why didn't she turn us in? Why did she held us in jail for three days? Did the engine of the plane broke or something?

"Besides," she continued and sat down next to me, but kept her eyes on Gordon.
"Coward number one, I know that you are a regular in my Cloudworld, so no I was not talking about you."

"Then it was about me... and my dad," I whispered to myself.

Milady L. heard the hesitating tone in my murmuring and cleared it for once and all. "Yes my dear, the ambassador asked me this favour and planted his men here. But I didn't expect him to be with you."

Is she talking about Nathan? I'm not used to this information dump. She reveals these State secrets and her thoughts too easily. This is way too suspicious.

Suddenly she stood up again, pressed a button of her desk. Not much later classical music started playing and Milady L. was waltzing around the bright office room. As if she was on a stage in Broadway. In sync with the music she made one, two, three pirouettes, then she fluently cavorted to the corner. From there she turned some cartwheels and danced some other ballet moves I couldn't name. At last she made a 90 degrees bow and her finale, a split.

I glanced at Gordon, who was probably as perplexed as I was. First she tries to kill my companion, then she sprouts some nonsense about my dad being wanted, then she mutters something about my aura. And suddenly she starts some ballet when she's like forty. What she can do on her age, I can't even in a million years!

"Did you like my performance?" her heavy breaths broke the silence.

"Honestly I don't know what you are thinking; this is absurd!" I hissed as an answer. Gordon only nodded. Is it weird to admit that I missed his talkativeness?

"Excuse me, I was so bored. It's already a year ago since I had spectators. I just couldn't stay still."

"Then you can go visit your friends or go perform somewhere else," I retorted, brushing off her lame excuse.

"I can't, I'm bound to this place. That's why I need your help."
