Part 16

Aditi and I woke up pretty late so I dint even have time to talk to her or ask her the reason on why she had told me to stay away from Arnav, we just got ready in a hurry and drove straight to the university.

I had mixed feelings today, I mean of course I was happy that I had my best friend back, but I was kind of sad about what happened between Arnav and I. I just wished there would have been a way we could have gotten rid of the tension between us.

We walked out of the parking lot and I found Jai waiting for me at our usual place, as soon as he saw me he smiled and started walking towards me.

"I better get go before I have to be friends with him too." Aditi rolled her eyes as she walked away leaving me laughing.

"Hey, you look gorgeous." Jai complimented.

"Thank you. So do you, handsome." I smiled.

"So, I see you went to being friends with Aditi, you must be really happy."

"I am. I had been trying to talk to her since I came back, now she finally listened, I'm happy, it's all I could ask for. Things seem to be going like I wanted them to."

"That's good. Anyway I should head to class, I was waiting to say hi to you, I'll see you at lunch?"

"Sure, just here." I smiled as we both waved goodbye and headed to our classes, I was quite nervous, I hoped Arnav hadn't arrived yet.

Things were going to be really weird

I pushed the door open and looked around as I walked inside the classroom, the whole classroom was full apart from the two seats at the back where we used to seat together.

I headed to the back and settled down, I wish he wouldn't come today, it was going to be really weird sitting beside him, why couldn't there be just one more extra seat so I could run away from here?

I got my stuff ready and just then the lecturer walked in and a few seconds after that, Arnav walked in. Holy Shit! I wish I was in another course instead of film making now.

He walked towards me, settled down on his chair silently without saying a word, he dint even bother to look at me. Maybe we could make this work, despite sitting next to each other, all we had to do was ignore each other.

Just as that thought crossed my mind, he shifted a bit on his chair trying to find something from his pocket and his arm brushed against mine and damn it! All those stupid feelings were back.

I pretended like it dint bother me, I just kept on looking ahead as if I was really concentrating in class.

"So today we're going to learn directing and we'll have to do it outdoors, so grab your things and follow me." he said as he headed out, everyone started following him.

I grabbed everything I had set up and put it back in my bag quickly, as I stood up I noticed the pen I was almost forgetting, as I headed to grab it, so did Arnav.

So it was like my hand was on the pen and his hand was on top of mine, for that brief moment, we shared a short eye lock but I quickly looked away. He took his hand off and walked away without saying a word, I also grabbed my pen and headed outside.

Damn it! That touch was giving me goosebumps. Why was everything about Arnav making me feel this way suddenly?

We gathered around the equipment's that were placed in the ground, our lecturer was standing beside it explaining things and instead of concentrating on that, I was concentrating on Arnav who was looking at the lecturing very seriously.

I wish I could stop staring at him. Oh Aditi, why did you have to do this to me? Now I couldn't even concentrate.

After the hectic four hour class about directing, we finally got a break for lunch. I headed to meet Jai where we had decided to meet. It was a fun class though, even though when it began I couldn't concentrate much, I managed to concentrate later when it got interesting and now I was tired as hell.

"What happened between the time I saw you in the morning and now. You look like you're from a battle?" Jai asked as soon as I walked to him.

Well avoiding Arnav and pretending that we didn't know each other was a battle in itself.

"I had a long class, I'm just tired, I need food and I'll be fine."

"Okay, let's get you something to eat." He grabbed my hand and pulled me along to the canteen, he left me seated at a table while he went to get the both of us food. He was a great guy though, he cared enough to do this for me just because I was tired.

Maybe for once I should stop judging people by their class and instead judge them as who they actually were as human beings, and Jai was a great human being, no matter what class he came from.

"I thought I'd find you here." I saw Aditi walk towards me, she pulled out a chair and settled down opposite me.

"Why were you looking for me? Missing your best friend already?" I giggled.

"Sure, you can think that." She rolled her eyes.

"We dint get to talk since you fell asleep last night. What's the deal with Arnav?" I asked. Staying away from him was difficult than I thought and this thing was driving me crazy.

"Why are you so curious?"

"Because you told me to do something without giving me an actual reason so I have to be curious. Or wait, do you like him or something so you're telling me to stay away from him." I smirked. Deep down I hoped she dint like him.

"No way Khushi, I would never like that guy, let alone liking him that way. I hate him from the bottom of my heart and I have a reason for wanting you to stay away from him." She said.

"And that's what I want to know, the reason." I said.

"What reason?" Jai walked back to our table with the food, he placed everything on the table and settled down.

"I'll see you later." Aditi rolled her eyes as she walked away, she was my best friend so I kind of understood she had problems with Jai just because he wasn't from the same class as us, but what I couldn't understand was her problem with Arnav. Why did she hate him? What could he have possibly done to her?

"Thanks for the food, I was famished." I said to Jai as I started eating immediately. Seriously was I ever going to find out the reason or was I just going to have to stay away from Arnav without even knowing why.

Jeez Khushi. Calm down, it's not like you have any feelings for him.

"You know we still have a pending dinner." Jai said.

"I know, I've just been held up lately, we'll go soon."

"How about today, if you aren't doing anything we can go after classes."

"I'm not sure, my class is going to be long."

"I can wait after mine are over, we can go direct from here."

"Okay, we can do that. Are you sure you'd want to wait that long though? I mean what would you do here, you'll get bored."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." He smiled.

"Okay, if you say so. Dinner it is. You better find a good place, I'm not going to any random places."

"Don't worry, I know you that much now." He laughed.

*****

The first couple weeks weren't that hectic, but now that things were getting deeper, the classes were getting longer and tiring, it was fun and tiring at the same time though.

I walked out of the class just wanting to go lie down on my bed and get some rest but I also had dinner with Jai and I had promised him so I had to go.

As I walked to the parking lot, my phone vibrated in my pocket so I pulled it from the pocket and saw I had a message from Aditi, she had forwarded me some stupid joke, it wasn't that funny so I was just smiling instead of laughing.

"Look at you, what are you smiling about?" Jai asked, he was currently standing near my car, leaning against it.

"Something."

"Oh, is it a text from a guy?" he asked.

"Maybe it is." I giggled.

"Who is it? I am curious."

"How about you find out yourself because I'm not telling you." I giggled.

"Oh you're going to regret telling me to find out." He smirked as he rushed towards me and I quickly ran away, we kept on running around the parking lot for a while until he caught me, I was a fast runner so it was easier for him.

"I'm not giving you my phone. Privacy dude." I laughed.

"I am your friend, there's no privacy." He said as he kept on trying to get the phone from me, he was holding my from the back, as I bent down trying to make sure he didn't get my phone while he tried to get it from me, and we were just laughing stupidly until my eyes fell on Arnav who was standing a few feet away staring at us.

I stopped moving and Jai took the phone from me, I dint even bother anymore, I was just staring at him as he stared back at me, he seemed like he was angry about something, his eyes were bloodshot and he even had his hands clenched into a tight fist, his veins visible on his arm.

What was he mad about?

"Stupid, it was just a joke from Aditi!" Jai said as he handed me my phone back.

"It was fun messing with you though." I giggled as I looked at him and then at Arnav again, he was no more standing or staring, he was walking towards his car.

Once he reached where it was parked, he got in and sped off, he really did seem pissed off about something though.

"Okay I'm tired can we go get dinner so that I can go home and sleep?"

"Sure." Jai nodded as we both headed back to my car.
