"TOTS? Seriously?"

Her ruby lips pressed tight to get clasped between her teeth. Her hands dug the glass stormed by green waters.

"Absurd yet the fact. Our fates are being fairly too obvious." She tossed her flowing purple locks at the headrest draped with barren brown velvet.

"Mhmm, it's not obvious until the choices are made." She downed the glass with a clink and sighed her disdain. She shifted her dangling legs to bargain some comfort. After a handful of twists and turns, she folded them on the seat and curled her spine to fit with the convexity of the couch.

"What do you think? Will we be engaged?" she asked the woman who kept sipping some violet smoking dark liquid from the yard glass.

Grumbles of strong sips filled the air, reddening the one who was furious with the play of fate.

"Mora! I asked you. I know you aren't deaf."

A smirking chuckle bubbled her senses, making her retire to her former posture. She looked at the other woman who had her eyes latched with lips sealed tight to cage the freedom of her breath.

"Girls! You know what you both are similar. You word one motto while you preach so-"

"HAHA HAHA OWOO... HAHA..."

Before she could close the clause Mordana's garish laughter jerked her words. She narrowed her lids in an attempt to glare. But her twitching lips made the other two cackle more.

"Fine! Not so funny. Call to a halt."

"Haha huh- Awp! Sorry, Sere. I crossed the line." Her assertion made Eir retire.

But Mordana's laughter bombarded every curve and contour of the ceiling.

"Mora, behave!"

Her pitching phrases seeped into Mordana's veins only to fade before they could sane her senses. With ounces of laughter clobbering on her reddening ears, she shook her head to the sides before trying out the last order.

'STOP RIGHT NOW!' Serephina shrieked inside her mind.

She simmered her blaring cackles to ceasing bursts of chuckles, but her raven shimmers grew darker than they should be. A curious calmness knocked the teal water walls.

"Have you gone insane?"

"Sere, don't pick her. Perhaps she needs-"

"Oh stop the drama, please. I'm not a nodding kid." Mordana spoke between her titters.

"You call my anxiety dramatic. Seriously?" Serephina furrowed her brows, pleating the space between them.

"What else should I name it? You are trying to involve me and that grown-up adult is reading my mood like a sweetie sweetie sweetheart after betr-" She gritted her teeth while clutching her fingers akin to the talons of the dragon.

"Betrayal. Right? Mora tries to be pragmatic. She didn't choose what she did. She tried to be-"

"Come again. She didn't choose it. Did you say this?" Her bitterness was very tangible.

"She hid what she shouldn't have. She knew the consequences, didn't she? Yet she kept quiet with her play. She kept us all covered in her shroud of illusions where we thought her as our darling mate only to get spat with the sour truth that we were just her hiding hives." Her retchings made Eir spill her tears with lack of words.

"Please Mora she is weak. We must be her strength."

With fast strides, Mordana covered the little distance between them and jiggled Serephina with her firm shoulder grip.

"Are you coaxed? Did she fall into her trap? I shalln't lose you Sere. Please!"

Her sudden shift of concern made Serephina gawk at her in shock. Eir looked appalled at the charge that was made on her.

"Mora-"

Mordana lifted her arms signalling her to keep quiet. But her trembling heart couldn't give up the efforts.

"Mora please! I-"

"Don't try to trap me with your words."

"What do you think of me, Mordana? I hid it and that's a pang of unforgivable guilt. But I can't harm you both for any cause. You don't have to speak to me but can you please not bother me with your words?"

"Why should I not? Why the hell should I comfort you? Are you my master? Parent? Friend? In the least do I even know the real you?" Her choking questions heavied Eir's heart. When she fell short of words, she hid her face between her knees crumpling her skirt.

"Mordana, please."

"Sere, stop this foolishness. She is not the Ei- she is not the one we know. Stop anchoring her when she is mature enough to get things done alone and aware of the shortfall involved." Serephina hushed her rambles with her fingers.

After five exhales, Serephina hugged Mordana to calm her down. She held her gentle enough not to let her breaths harm her skin. Mordana felt a relief heal her cracked voids.

"Hushhhh. Relax Mora. Everything will get straightened. We will clean up the mess together. Alright?"

"No, Sere. Let's return. This isn't in our reach."

"Mora, let's discuss this later when we all are ready." In a sudden move, she broke the embrace with a sour surprise stilling the moment.

"What?" Serephina shrugged in innocence.

"All? Are you out of your mind? Do you think I will care for her even after all this? You don't have the time of seven heavens. Sere, give not your care to the ones who don't deserve it. At least not to this tricky traitor."

"Argh! Stop this insanity. I had enough. Everyone has their personal space. You haven't been through their havocs. Don't be an emotional maniac."

"What do you want me to do?"

"Just be silent. Is that too much to ask for?" Serephina hit her palms on her forehead while her eyes were shut in utter dismay.

The war of words sought a scalding halt as Serephina walked past the woman to open her tulip green oil to lighten the crusading trails. With some whiffs of silence, she came to sit between the broken friends. She held their palms and inhaled the exquisitely tender scent.

"Sere! Mind a question?" Serephina turned her head towards Mordana with a gentle smile she could muster.

"What are you hiding from me?"

"Ahaa? What makes you think like that?" She sat up with curiosity knitted between her weak lids.

"You said everyone has their secrets. And I don't want to be broken again. Is there anything I missed?"

"Seems like someone is as curious as a toddler. But I must say that I have nothing hidden."

"You sure?" Mordana held her palms in both her hands.

"I must ask you this." Serephina winked as she took the green goblet to sip the lulling liquids.

"What! I don't hide anything. If transparency is the key to necromancy then I can declare that I'm the Empress of necromancy." Mordana picked Serephina's glass and took the last sip. She downed the empty goblet and glanced at the serous stripes gliding down the glass.

"Ahaa. I agree that partially. You would be the empress from necromancy who loves an emperor of illusion." Her ridiculing chuckles made Mordana blink.

"Wait! Did you just do it?"

"You know that already." Her winks made Mordana more nervous.

"Ho- Gosh! Hrgh! Why do you think like that?" Her gaping looks made Serephina tickle her arms with her fingertips.

"Ms Moradana, you can never be hideous. Not just me everyone can see through you. Isn't it Eir?" She shifted her torso to look at her pushed smile.

"Yes, see Mora. Aaron would be the best to handle your crazy quirks. He is reserved and caring and you are sloping and wild. You both together bring out the perfect peak-valley vibe."

"What the- From where do you get these metaphors? It's nothing like what you assume. We are just being friendly." Mordana shrugged while her legs shifted with no rest.

"In that sense, now let's confirm it." Mordana lifted her brow in suspicion.

Serephina stood to grab the leather satchel. Unzipping it in a hurry, she took out the dull scarlet two-winged heart crystal and placed it on her palms.

"Don't tell me that you are performing a love test on me? What a disaster!" She kept the crystal low with a thud.

"Sere, someone is afraid." Eir's words made Serephina smirk.

"Sere ask her not to pretend much. I'm not yet the same moron she can play with."

"Aye aye, Sere. But I have the vigor to say that I have some butterfly shudders for Hugh. Can she admit hers? Maybe she isn't the same rebellious woman I would mess with."

"That is a right hit!" Serephina raised her palm to admit Eir's words.

"This is her fine trap. I need not prove me to her." Mordana waved her palms to clear the thick fogs blurring her thoughts.

"You owe me. Don't you?" Serephina pushed the crystal towards her.

Mordana arched her lips down trying to be pleasing as she pleaded. But Serephina's smirks and stares made her pick the stone, making the ruby lady spill a grin.

"Okay! May the truth be proved."

With a grim gulp down her gut, she held the crystal between her palms and closed her eyes gently. Serephina neared her face to wave her pointers near her lids.

"She who birthed the soul of love,
The one whose heart flows as ambrose,
The one who warms voids and cavern,
The one to whom any secret is hidden,
The one who is a beautiful mystery,
May her heart seek its true destiny,
Bless her soul with the oath of love."

Serephina backed two steps and whispered the hymn for three loops. At the last reciting, she sat beside her and asserted, "Mora, now think of your moments with Aaron. Slowly with every detail, you could collect." With a quick nod, Mordana did as she was told.

Serephina could observe the twitching in Mordana's lips cease with time. Her heartbeats grew heavy. They were discernible with every tint of red colouring her cheeks as a beaming smile akin to the ray of the sun between the knitted terrace of the thick lush forests blossomed on her lips.

With not much excitement Serephina looked at the stone in her hand. It was glinting a soft pink glare on its surface. Before she could word it, Mordana had already seen what she should.

In fractions of a moment, her smile was replaced with some odd trembles. Her heart raced faster than she could attempt to calm. Her heavy exhales and stares confused her mates.

"I must go now." She placed the stone on the desk with no emotions and walked towards the door.

"Are you afraid or still ignorant?" Eir's queries made her turn.

"Even if I explain it, you will never know." With that, she closed the door leaving the two to exchange some shrugs and timid simpers.

Tadaa! Our Mordana is in love. Eir is getting stronger. Serephina is smoothening the gaps. After the dark revelations, I wanted to pen down a crazy chapter. Hope it's enjoyable.

But why do you think Mordana is walking away from love?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Until next time,
