July 16th - 12:30am

"Before you go" Roman turned in his seat to face Logan and Patton who were about to leave the car. "My mami is very affectionate, expect to be hugged" and he winked at Logan because he knew the man was very awkward with physical contact from people he didn't exactly know.

"And there's no way to avoid it" Virgil slapped his shoulder playfully before he could even suggest the idea which made Logan sigh and turn to Patton who was smiling up at him lazily, eyes half closed with exhaustion as he truly didn't sleep much throughout the flight.

"Let's get you to a bed" Logan murmured and Patton quietly agreed, everyone getting out the car, something Nicolás had done as soon as it was parked. He was inside already, probably informing mami of their appearance so while they grabbed their suitcases Roman and Virgil weren't surprised when they heard her all familiar voice laced with a thick Spanish accent.

"Mijo!" She smiled at Roman who left his suitcase in favour of wrapping his arms around his mother, picking her up from the ground and twirling her around. At this she let out a laugh, demanding to be put down in Spanish which Roman laughed at but eventually complied when she started to whack him with her hand towel.

"Niño" she then turned her attention to Virgil who smiled his soft smile reserved for the woman he held so much respect for and loved like an actual mother.

"How was the flight?" She asked after drawing back from the hug they shared, he pulled up the handle for his suitcase while replying. "Long and gruelling, but no crying kids" he added on as a positive which made Sofia smile brightly - she always told Virgil to find the positives and because of her he always does. Well, most the time. Sometimes it was hard, but she understood that which made him love her even more.

"And who's this?" She asked when she noticed Logan and Patton beside the car, Logan holding up Patton who leaned heavily into his side, still trying to be polite and greet Sofia but he could barely keep his eyes open.

"Mijo! You didn't tell me you had more guests!" Sofia called to Roman who was already dragging his suitcase towards the house in a hurry to be away from her wrath.

"Sorry, mami!" He called before entering the house, his distant laughter could be heard by them all and she sighed, hands on her hips. Both Logan and Patton had only seen Sofia in pictures and she was quite different in real life - her skin was a darker shade and her brown hair was tied into a bun which Roman informed them was it's usual style unless she was at an important party or get together. Plus in real life her eyes seemed such a brighter brown.

She was short, all her kids towered her but that didn't stop her from babying them as if they were still five years old. Of course none of them minded - she was a loving, wonderful mother and they could never complain. Especially Roman.

"It's a good thing we have guest bedrooms" she tutted, walking closer to Patton and Logan to greet them when she noticed Patton's state. "Oh, niño, are you alright?" She crooned, delicately brushing her thumb across Patton's cheek that wasn't pressed into Logan's shoulder.

"M'...yeah, fine" he barely managed, eyes fluttering every few moments but mostly staying shut. "He unfortunately didn't get much sleep on the plane" Logan supplied, shifting Patton's body so it would be easier for him to mostly carry him. "He has serious travel sickness, however only while flying" he added on and Sofia frowned sympathetically.

"Lets get you inside, would you two like to share a room?" She directed the question at Logan who nodded, "yes, please" and when Sofia noticed he was trying to carry Patton and both their suitcases she got into action.

"Nicolás! Isabella! ¡Ayuda a los amigos de Roman con sus cosas!" She yelled loudly while taking a few steps towards the house, quickly turning back to Patton who managed a shaky smile in her direction. "Pobre chico" she frowned and sighed, helping Logan carry Patton inside while Virgil tagged behind them, carrying his suitcase and a few spare bags Roman and himself brought along, leaving the other stuff for Nicolás and Isabella who left the house before they could even enter.

"Hey, Virgil!" Isabella greeted when she spotted him, dodging around her mother in favour of giving him a quick side hug. "Good flight?"

"Mostly, yeah" he agreed with a half smile. Isabella grinned and playfully pushed his shoulder before turning to see Nicolás grabbing one of the suitcases and bags. "Hey Nicolás! I bet I can carry more stuff inside than you!" She called as soon as she thought of the competition. Virgil laughed when he saw Nicolás physically wilt at her suggestion.

Isabella was very competitive in every sort of game, or made up game, there is. She won't even let the younger children win at a game if she was involved, and she was pretty good at winning literally anything they would play. And if she didn't win? The sourest loser one could ever meet - she'd accuse the winner of cheating and would pout for the rest of the day.

Other than her competitive behaviour she's cool and is actually a loving mother to her son Daniel. Especially when he came out as trans - she and her husband James were the best support system Daniel could've asked for and he'd be forever grateful. Very much like her mother she had brown hair but always let it down, having so much hair up in a pony tail was more painful than it was worth - it reached her waist but she wouldn't let it grow any longer than that. She wouldn't cut it shorter either. And she had matching sparkling brown eyes that only seemed lighter under the Spanish sun.

Virgil finally turned away after watching Isabella grab every single bag and suitcase leaving Nicolás with nothing as he stood and watched his sister who seemed happy enough to be winning.

Inside the house was very air conditioned which was a relief, Virgil could feel sweat beginning to accumulate at a scary rate. He heard the sound of chatter from the nearest room - he assumed to be the living room - and guessed most of the family that were already here were hanging out together. He wouldn't be surprised if Roman was in there too.

Following Logan, Patton and Sofia up the staircase he followed the instructions Sofia gave him to get to his room while she and Logan carried Patton a little further down the hallway into a room that wasn't being used but had the basic layout of a bedroom. A closet, desk and double bed.

"Will you two be okay in here?" Sofia asked while laying Patton down on the bed, Logan taking off his shoes and neatly placing them to the side. "This will be adequate. Thank you" he nodded and she smiled again, pressing a gentle kiss to Patton's forehead before turning to Logan and pulling him into an unsuspected hug. He tensed a little in her arms and all she did was laugh.

"You're just like Virgil, niño" she commented, patting his cheek affectionately before leaving the room, allowing the two to relax.

"She's nice" Patton whispered, unable to raise his voice any higher. Logan smiled down at his boyfriend who seemed completely out of it. "May I take off your trousers?" He asked and Patton nodded, pushing himself onto his back which seemed a great hassle. Logan unbuttoned and slid them off with ease, lifting Patton's body a little to tug the quilt from under his body, laying it over him afterwards.

"Rest, Love" Logan whispered and Patton smiled, puckering his lips as a silent request for a kiss. Logan rolled his eyes fondly but complied, expecting Patton to grab his shirt and not let go when he tried to lean back.

"I need to hang up our clothes, Love" and Patton whined but let him go, he didn't have the energy to try and stop him. After cuddling into the blanket he quickly dozed off and Logan watched him for a moment before leaving the room to head downstairs and gather their things.

In the large foyer while walking down the staircase he watched who he assumed was Isabella drop off all of their things she had somehow managed to carry all by herself.

"I totally beat you, Nicolás!" She needlessly yelled to the man who was standing in the doorway with a blank expression coated onto his face. "Yes, well done" he responded sarcastically and Isabella laughed, turning to face Logan who finally reached the ground floor, hand resting on the end of the banister.

"Roman's friend, I'm Isabella!" She rushed over, picking up his hand snd shaking it before he could even lift it. "I would love to talk but they're having another round of Mario Kart and I'm gonna kick all their asses" with that she was darting into the living room and Logan was stood, perplexed, opposite Nicolás who gazed at all the bags and suitcases.

He then looked over at Logan who met his gaze.

Without saying another word Nicolás parted into the living room and Logan didn't think much of it but he could see why Virgil winced the first time he mentioned his name.

"Why is there a pile of bags here-Isabella! Sofia told you to help not leave a mess!" A sudden voice came from behind Logan and he watched a man who looked similar to Nicolás walk through into the living room.

"Sorry, papa! She said bring them in, didn't say where!" And Logan could hear the same man sigh before he came back out and smiled at Logan.

"Sorry about this-I'm Alejandro, you must be the friends Sofia was talking about. Er-" he hesitated and Logan knew he was searching for a name. "I am Logan. My partner upstairs is Patton, he would love to meet you all but due to not obtaining much rest on the plane he could barely hold himself up" and Alejandro waved his hand around dismissively to say it doesn't matter.

"As long as you two clean up behind you, you're welcome" and he helped Logan with his and Patton's things, neatly laying them beside the closet where Logan said he'd put away their clothes, as well as in the chest of draws.

"I'll go see Virgil, it was nice to meet you"

"You too" Logan responded before Alejandro left the room. He turned to face their belongings and sighed, he'd be here awhile before he could sleep.

Meanwhile Virgil was downstairs, grabbing the rest of his belongings as Roman already left his in their shared room and was currently playing Mario Kart from what Virgil saw through the doorway.

"Virgil?"

He turned to face Roman's dad, Alejandro, with a sudden smile. "Oh! Hey, how're you?" And he smiled that familiar smile he always wore around his family - when he wasn't telling them off of course.

"Good, good, yourself?" And conversation started between the two as he helped carry Virgil's stuff up to his and Roman's room, the man pulled a face at the pile Roman had left behind but Virgil knew why - he was a stickler for messes and would always catch people out for it. He always wanted the house to be clean and wouldn't allow anything but.

"That boy" he sighed with a shake of his head. Virgil just laughed lightly and laid his stuff onto the bed. "I'll get him to clean it later, promise" he confirmed and Alejandro seemed to relax at that, thanking Virgil before telling him lunch would be ready towards one.

Once done, he left and Virgil gazed at all their belongings with a sigh. How he hated unpacking. He would've dragged Roman's ass up to help but when he saw him playing games with his siblings he could see how happy he was and he hadn't smiled like that since they arrived here so he wouldn't try and ruin it.

Instead he piled all of Roman's stuff together for him to sort out later and got busy with his own unable to get the marriage out of his mind and excited smile off his face.
