Sophia's POV

Just lying on your bed and looking at the ceiling is like the most common thing that every teenager does.

Usually when they think how messed their life is or when they have nothing to do. Well, my life is not very messed up but since I came to know that my childhood sister-like friend has a crush on my crush.

Pathetic.

This happens when you don't share your crush life with your friends.

So, today Hailey and James will be coming to my house for a movie session. After Hailey's birthday we three have been meeting and have been hanging out together.

Today I was home alone because my brother, Josh had gone to some football tour and my mom was out of city because of some conference.

Peace.

It was like 6pm and Hailey and James will be coming anytime soon. I jumped from my cozy bed and decided to wear something comfy.

Which was my oversized black hoodie and grey pajama shorts. My hair were already open so I didn't made any effort.

After washing my face I ran downstairs.
I heard the doorbell.

He. Is. Here.

I welcomed both of them and they made themselves comfortable on the couch.

James was sitting in the middle while I was at his right and Hailey on the left.

I was feeling kind of weak. I wasn't ill. But there was a strange feeling. A feeling I just can't describe.

I think I should talk to Hailey about this. Yes! She'll definitely understand my feelings.

"So..." I started.
"Have you guys decided what we are going to watch? I mean which movie?"

"No..not yet." Hailey said.

I looked at James.

"Neither me." He leaned back and kept his hands on his head. His muscles perfectly bulging out of his shirt.

I could see Hailey silently drolling at him.

"Well..... I know that I have a spectacular body but you girls should stop looking at me like that. If you want I can show you my whole b--"

"We got you!!!" We both shouted blushing a little.

I gave them both a million options which they shunned.

"Okay so Conjuring 2 final?" Hailey asked us.

We nodded.

This is the perfect time.

"James can you bring the popcorns and drinks? They are ready. Just kept on the kitchen countertop. Please?"
I requested.

"Sure." He replied. His smiled killed me for the billionth time. He went to the kitchen.

"Hailey!" I whispered.

"Yeah??? You wanted to tell me something?" She asked quite excited.

"Yeah....it's.....um....okk..so.. I can't Hailey." I sighed.

"Is everything ok Soph?" She asked with concern.

Damn! How will I do this?

"Okay...soo" I started darting my eyes around.

"I really li--"

"Yo snacks are here!" James came shouting excitedly.

Wow!

James sat on the couch and I gave Hailey a 'we'll talk later look' to which she nodded.

I could see on her face that how curious she was.

We continued watching movies while eating, drinking[soft drinks] and talking about random stuff.

After watching enough movies I saw the time and it was 11:48pm. I realised that I need to go to washroom.

Moral: Don't drink and laugh constantly.

Hailey and James were talking about their hobbies. I rushed upstairs. After doing my business I washed my hands and went downstairs.

I took a deep breath.

I have to tell her asap.

I mean my 10 year old friendship is more important than my 10 days old crush.

Okay so let's just not say 10 days but 8 months.

Sometimes I have this feeling that James like me back. It's just a feeling. Don't know what's in his heart.

When I went to the living area I was thunderstruck.

James was kissing Hailey.

There was a lump formed in my throat. Tears were flowing in my eyes and falling on my cheeks. I stood there frozen rooted on my spot.

The feeling was horrible.

I ran upstairs to my room. After shutting my door and locking it I leaned on the wall.

I know that I have no right to call James mine. But he has always been my imaginary boyfriend.

I just can't believe that he likes Hailey.
I mean she is really an amazing girl.
But since the beginning he made me feel that he likes me.

I was crying constantly.
I can't say that I was happy for Haiely.
These things only exist philosophically .

Practically, it hurts.

"Sophia! Are you there? What's taking so long?" It was James.

"And why do you shut the door?"

Shit.

"I'm not........feeling well." I tried so hard not to break down.

"What happened?"

Silence.

"Sophia? Why she's not opening the door?" Hailey asked James.

"Sophia! What's wrong baby?" Haiely asked.

"Nothing....I--I am just.....having ...cramps..you both can continue with the movies....I just....want rest."

"Okay. If you want anything please let me know. Okay?"

"Yeah."

I continued crying silently.

This will always be an unforgettable movie night for me and for Hailey too.
