The young lad wiped the fluid drenching on his forehead. He no longer knows if it was sweat or his blood, he just simply whisked it away to clear his eyes. Since it trickled down to his brows, it obstructed his view a bit making a blind spot. He did not want this to be taken as his weakness as he remained firm before the enemy.

Dong Wei, on the other hand, smirked from the resistance. The short-lived half-blood before him did not pose a threat, not even enough to pluck a single hair from his body. However, he did not quickly make a move to kill him. Instead, he remained on giving him small lethal attacks that made the young dragon to bleed abnormally. This drained JiDan's energy slowly as if tormenting him to the clear dead end that will soon come.

However, Dong Wei wanted to praise the child. If it is now, Dong Wei is unbeatable. Even JiDan on his dragon form could only suppress only a half of his reserves, thought it would be different after a hundred years. At first, the little dragon did not want to believe the things the impostor had said. It's impossible that Lang Yuan is really indeed came from a 'scratchy named' world (since The Rules makes 'Earth' to sound like a forbidden word, or a censored word) and just transferred here because of death. However, the little dragon slowly accepted the fact that tormented him non-stop he almost wished to die.

Since he has been Lang Yuan since his birth, JiDan knows Lang Yuan more than what Yu XueQin could understand Lang Yuan. It is like a connection from a parent to a child, and so JiDan could tell if Lang Yuan is sad or if he is happy. It is also this fact that made Dong Wei's words true to their form. JiDan had seen the signs from his mother but since he is ignorant towards 'that' world, he did not mind.

The first thing that he noticed from Lang Yuan is his weird way of talking. Lang Yuan's accent is a bit fast and slightly nasal, making his words sounding like a humming bird tweeting. However, this accent fitted his image so much, but for the natives of this world his accent would be weird and different. Even though it was still comprehensible, there is this kind of 'sound' that makes Lang Yuan's words being 'translated' to their speech.

Nobody will think that something is wrong as long as you can understand the other person. But for Lang Yuan whose existence is a question, this kind of predicament is unusual. JiDan also started to get bothered by that 'sound' that becomes evident the moment you realize that a barrier is there. He wanted to get a glimpse of his 'voice' but something is stopping him from hearing it.

JiDan thought that it was just because Lang Yuan is dyslexic. Lang Yuan already told him about this complication. He can vividly remember that time when Lang Yuan is under the trial of reading the poems. He even questioned the reason why Lang Yuan could not read but could write properly. However, as he was being persuaded by Dong Wei, he realized that his different way of speaking has something to do with his previous world. The speech complication cannot be blamed since it only affects the person's inability to read, not the way the person's intonation in speech. It is because Dong Wei also speaks the same way. Though, the latter has a variation since Dong Wei's voice is much lower.

Still, the similarities can't be ignored.

Another thing that hinted Lang Yuan's difference is his way of wearing clothes. When he first saw him, JiDan found Lang Yuan wearing the local clothes that is carrying the YanLing Sect's insignia, signifying his existence as a probationary disciple. JiDan has no reaction with it since he is aware that the Sect is currently in the Forbidden Forest to recover an egg – to recover him. It's just that circumstances happened and he was able to form a bond with Lang Yuan.

However, after arriving on the city, Lang Yuan's weird fashion started to appear. Somehow, when wearing the robes, the young man is confused which fold on the collar should go up and down. He also had a hard time wearing the pants and boots, would often take him longer time to dress up. When he is done, he would look at the other people to see if he had worn the clothes properly.

It is as though he is trying to imitate other people's clothing.

JiDan thought that maybe Lang Yuan is just a young master from a noble family that didn't know anything and would let the servants to dress him up. Actually, there are indeed princes like that. He made a thing called 'onesie' and made JiDan wear it. The youth seems to be pleased as if seeing something that is normal. JiDan wondered where Lang Yuan took the design but he let it go wander since Lang Yuan is smiling at him very wonderfully. He could just ignore whatever details Lang Yuan has been leaving subconsciously because what matters to him is Lang Yuan's happy state.

There are more signs that came after that. He learned that Lang Yuan possessed a very high intelligence thus his words must hold some magnanimous meaning that normal people could never understand. JiDan had heard many of these terminologies that even though he could not understand; he would just nod since Lang Yuan seems to be enjoying talking about these topics. This made the evidences more clarified.

Lang Yuan is someone who did not belong to this world. Thus, he shall leave.

JiDan is still ignorant about The Rules during that time so he was a bit apprehensive. But when Dong Wei told him about the possible outcomes that will happen to Lang Yuan, he quickly accepted the deal and helped the stranger on his plans. This includes all the sacrifices that he had done just to bind Lang Yuan in this world.

The Rules of this world only holds one important rule that every entity should follow: All entity that is born from this world will remain in this world, never the otherwise. An existence that is not part of this world will be forcedly eliminated. The other rules are closely related to this one rule that states either the roles of the people on the community or the faction of power that leads the people.

Yu XueQin's position was also decided by the Rules, thus he can't be eliminated unless he does something stupid. Even the Covenant is also created by The Rules. Since a dragon god can cause massive destruction, the Rules made a law about killing the gods. It made a very severe punishment just for this rule to keep the whole realm peaceful.

This is what Dong Wei wanted to happen. Lang Yuan's identity was hidden because of JiDan's existence. JiDan played a very important role to this world that is why his existence is needed. And since Lang Yuan made his birth possible, thus The Rules looked over him. However, it is also this protection that will soon make the Rules to notice the discrepancy.

It will come eventually. The moment The Rules touched Lang Yuan; he will then be ejected from this world and will be eliminated. JiDan feared the event the most so he followed whatever Dong Wei told him to do. When the impostor said that he should kill thirteen half-gods, then he followed him without hesitation.

Dong Wei can do the killings but his existence is also similar with Lang Yuan. If he would try and do kill some gods, this will activate the covenant. The covenant will then realize that Dong Wei is not part of this world and will quickly eradicate him. Since Lang Yuan is related to him, the Rules will soon find him and bring the same judgment.

The use of using this method is to divert The Rules in finding Lang Yuan. The Covenant is a strange system created by the Rules. Once a god received the seal, the Rules could not do anything to stop the harsh punishment. If JiDan, whose existence is more important than the zodiac gods, will receive the mark, what will happen to the Rules?

The clock on JiDan's chest serves as the time bomb; as long as it remains on his body, the Rules could never ignore him. JiDan's role is far more important than the sins that he committed. The Rules are currently in chaos, wondering what it should do to remain the balance of this world.
