15.5 Revelation

[The first thing that he saw in this world is a pair of red blood irises.]

JiDan caught the body of his mother effortlessly. One unconscious man is heavier than it is awake, yet JiDan handled it as if the body that he caught is lighter than a pillow. Well, Lang Yuan has always been very light. Nobody would ever think that this weak and frail-looking individual holds a great strength that not even JiDan could compare.

However, for JiDan, no matter what appearance this person takes or whatever weakness he has, he will always treat him with full respect and unconditional love. What if he is weak? JiDan can be strong for him. What if he is fragile? JiDan will become his block to protect him. Whatever disadvantages Lang Yuan earned himself JiDan will fulfill it.

This is his payment for his mother who brought him into this world.

[When his eyes stopped crying, then the other person started crying in tears. Those eyes that matched his showed warmth that he never saw before. Dragons are cold-blooded but for the first time he felt like human.]

JiDan placed his mother lightly on the ground while still carefully holding Lang Yuan's upper torso. The earlier event caused worry to Lang Yuan, which is evident to his slightly frowning brows. JiDan chuckled as he placed his hand up to his brows to massage it gently. He wanted to smooth out the worry that his mother is feeling right now.

Sensing the massage, Lang Yuan somehow reacted and the frown on his brows was erased. The young dragon hummed in satisfaction as next tucked the loose strands of hair back to the sides of his ears. JiDan busied himself grooming Lang Yuan as if this person can only be beautiful. He gave his mother a peck on the forehead showing his love and content.

After seeing the clean face, he proceeded on fixing his mother's clothes. He straightened the crumpled parts and patted off the dusts on the sides. Just then, JiDan noticed the blood-soaked sleeves of his mother and suddenly felt dread. Like a lost child, he searched for his mother's injury, or if there is any small wounds on his skin.

This color... this color left a deep impression to JiDan. He thinks that this color did not fit his mother's image at all. For Lang Yuan, light colored clothes and the pastel combination are good enough to highlight his calm and tame demeanor. However, adding red to his translucent white skin added a hint of temptation, destroying the innocent personality that he originally have.

Though, the emperor seems to like seeing Lang Yuan wear red ah!

One reason for JiDan to hate it again.

Though, that is not the main point why he disliked this color. The red hue highly resembled the color of blood – the darker it is, the greater the horror. JiDan didn't want to see this color to stick on Lang Yuan. He had seen what damage it caused to his heart so he will never allow such color to exist.

Even though Lang Yuan's irises are said to be both red...

[Someday, Lang Yuan will return to his world and you will be left alone...]

Children are susceptible to nightmares more often and JiDan is not excused to this form of torment. The greatest torture that he received and he will never forget it for the rest of his life is when he witnessed the fake death of Lang Yuan. Since that day, his nights are always been sleepless especially when Lang Yuan is not resting on his side.

It gives him a very bad premonition – as if the possibility of this future will happen. This left a very bad taste to his heart causing distress that cracked his mighty defense. The moment his heart wavered from the emotion, the demons that everyone has on the deepest part of their individuality quickly rushed in to destroy him. This planted the scary thoughts that kept on haunting him on his sleep.

Though, there is still cure to this curse. It can still be tended well to eliminate the waste. Since JiDan is not the normal dragon, his heart's defense is originally very strong. Even if the demons invaded it, he has the power to chase them out. It is like the anti-virus software that kicks in the moment one feels like being infiltrated.

However, instead of cleansing his heart, JiDan fell to desperation. He was caught in the trap of the dark side rendering him helpless. The fear lingered to his body, noisily ringing his ears the truth of reality. Lang Yuan is here now, but will he remain on his side forever? If ever he will be given a ticket to return to whatever world he belong, will Lang Yuan still choose him?

He is afraid.

JiDan is afraid.

What would be the sense of becoming stronger if the person that he is trying to protect is gone? What is the purpose of life if the person who gave him his life is gone? Why is the meaning of his existence? Why is he born just to feel fear like this?

[Will he really... leave me?]

JiDan wanted to ask Lang Yuan but he is scared to know the answer. While JiDan is lovingly looking over the Lang Yuan, a speck of black dust suddenly appeared beside him. The speck of dust concentrated to create a form, generating an image that everyone is familiar. Actually, this person is the one the emperor and the former general is chasing, yet he is here standing beside JiDan.

Though, JiDan give no reactions to his arrival. Instead, he focused his attention to Lang Yuan. It is only after some time that the little dragon had enough. Taking a last glimpse, JiDan kissed his mother's forehead while saying his graces. When he finished, his rose complexion suddenly became pale as he carried the frail body up in one move.

The stranger that was ignored is one other than the black masked man impostor. Though, his face is not covered by the mask, completely showing a straight imposing face. He has thick sword like brows that expressed his wickedness combined with a thin pale lips. The impostor smirked as he looked at the pair of mother and son.

The cold face of JiDan evidently showed his displeasure as he clutched his mother's body tightly. He knows what kind of situation he is now. Even though he joined forces to this person to perform a crime, it doesn't mean that they are a team. The stranger could still oust him and continue the task without a problem. That's why he's not giving Lang Yuan. He has no plans in doing it.

The black masked man just smirked. Fine, he won't take that person but it doesn't mean that he will never get him in the future. Since the child has still some unfinished works, he can't just kill him in one strike. In addition, JiDan has been cautious around him. He was able to manipulate JiDan but only a portion. JiDan is still sane enough to keep his distance.

He let the child do the carrying. Now, his attention is focused to the other person lying to the ground. Zhong Song was stabbed by JiDan earlier. He is still bleeding though the person is still alive. The black masked man smiled in amusement as he crouched beside the body. Zhong Song's state highly resembles a dead body; the only difference is his chest that is still moving.

"Dragons were not real in our world. They are just fantasy, created from the minds of the old folk. They are just figures represent a calamity, a celebration, and a miracle. But they are not real."

The black masked man muttered those words as he looks at JiDan. The younger dragon has no qualms about what nonsense this person is speaking. Most of the time, from the first they met, this person started talking about 'this world' and 'our world' as if specifying that he is from the other world. And Lang Yuan, who is also part of that world, will never be an existence of this world.

He circled around the body of Zhong Song as if expecting something, scratching his chin in deep thoughts. He looks very carefree on his movements, ignoring the fact that they are in a dire state. The black masked man continued, talking more nonsense.

"However, writers do have an imaginative mind, ah. They represent dragons to have many forms and kinds, yet they agree to one trait - dragons are gods."

"Dragons are just fiction on Earth. Even though they are considered heavenly, dragons are still mystic creatures. They are just part of the mythology and might or might not actually exist. Also, different countries have their own representation."

"One country says that dragons have serpentine bodies, the other says that they are lizards. One side believes that dragons are wise and said to be the guardians of time, while the other believes that dragons are the ill-omens of destruction."

"But everyone agrees that dragons are gods due to their power that could annihilate worlds," The black man masked pointed a statement to JiDan. "Who would ever think that there is this world that actually represents all of those thoughts?"

This world, the world where the three people transmigrated, is a world where gods are real, and dragons are gods. The higher plane is visibly divided to the lower realm to represent heaven and earth. Each dragon also has their own distinct trait; one is of the evil and the otherwise. This is the world created out from fantasy that nobody would ever thought will exist.

The black masked man knows that JiDan won't answer any question or comment any thoughts. He just idly shrugged the little dragon away as he crouched down beside Zhong Song. He stared at its features first and thought that Zhong Song's looks are not bad. Maybe if this person happen to be birthed on Earth, he will surely become a celebrity.

"There is one good description of dragons from a book. It says that dragons are undefeatable because of their hard scales. Did you know that they're stronger than diamonds? I never thought that there could be harder than diamonds, you know?" The black masked man said.

"However, dragons are said to have one soft spot on them - their bellies. I don't know the reason why the godly creatures have soft bellies but thanks to that they can still be defeated," he traced down to the parts where Zhong Song is stabbed. There is a hole on the scholar's chest but the blood is already dry.

The legendary weapon is called legendary due to its ability to kill gods. The reason for this is because the gods won't be able to use their regenerative abilities once wounded by the said object. However, there's a very little possibility for the weapon to not work. And that is if the one being killed is a human.

It's not that the legendary weapon cannot kill a human. Even on its form, it can cut the flesh but the difference on the output is evident. Human naturally does not have any regenerative abilities so the weapon won't be harsh. And since Zhong Song is a half-blood, his human side did not render the ability of the weapon to instantly kill him.

Of course, the story would be different if JiDan beheaded him. The person will really die quickly.

"It seems that that's the only thought that this world is not able to copy. The heart must be the dragon's hardest part."

[A/N : Well... I won't agree to myself. There's one thing that is harder down below, you know? Okay, let's go back to the drama hahahaha]

His black eyes show the interest he has on the dragon. He reaches out to the weapon ready to haul it out when JiDan called him. He turned his head to find the straight face lad that is paler than a slug look at him with disgust. He only rolled his eyes as he shrugged his shoulders. He took the weapon in one move and tucked it on his pocket.

On the other hand, JiDan is not scared that this impostor will stab his uncle. Since by doing it, the black masked man will receive a sign on his chest. It is true that JiDan stabbed his uncle but the one doing the last blow will receive the sin. And this is what the black masked man did not want to happen. He did not dare to stab Zhong Song since it is not worth the waste.

It will completely ruin his plan.

He stood up from his place and lightly kicked the side hip of Zhong Song. Indeed, this one has good looks but he only craves on Lang Yuan. No matter what beauty strips naked before him, he will only have Lang Yuan on his heart and nobody else. It is this obsession that brought him to carry out this plan.

He wanted to take Lang Yuan all by his self.

"Dong Wei," JiDan called again.

The little dragon called him but he was looking at the window where the Emperor and Kun Shao left. Dong Wei narrowed his eyes as he also look at that direction. The distance is pretty much far but for gods that distance can be taken by only a minute. He smirked, thinking how the people in this world are really over-powered.

"They sure are fast ah, worth their label as gods. Well, it's not that I am anywhere weaker than them," he shrugged.

He crouched down to reach at the unconscious dragon. JiDan watched Dong Wei as he carried his uncle on his shoulder like a sack of rice. Dong Wei seems to be relaxed as he adjusted the person on his shoulder, making sure that it won't wake up. He patted Zhong Song's back when he's done with the work.

"Well? Shall we go?" Dong Wei asked with a smile.

JiDan has no reaction. He looked at his mother once again then took a dust from his pockets. Dong Wei isn't static as he walks around the room to get a candle lighted. He gave it to the young dragon that threw the dust on the air.

Like the magic paper, the dusts caught the fire very quickly. It also took the figures in an instant, engulfing them in a whole. The bright light that went quickly also went away as fast leaving the lighted candle on the air. The wax then fell down to the floor and rolled to the bedside window where the thin curtain caught the fire.

The moment Yu XueQin and Kun Shao arrived, the whole YanLing Sect is already filled with raging fire.
