Chapter 8

Peter was halfway to the tower, still curious about who Tony would want him to meet.

His mind was racing with every swing

will it be one of the Avengers?

No, it couldn't be...

But who else is there?

He kept swinging his way over, occasionally looking down at the city below him, admiring the sight

The city was always so beautiful from up high; it never seemed to get old, no matter how many times he's been up this high

around thirty minutes later, Peter arrived at the tower, landing just outside of the main entrance

he pushed open the double glass doors and waved kindly at the interns, who just stared back at him

he ignored their looks and hurriedly made his way to the private elevator on the far left of the bottom floor

he pressed in the 'up' arrow with his thumb and waited for the doors to open

he tapped his middle and pointer fingers on his thigh in a steady rhythm, the familiar feeling of anxiety clawing at the inside of his chest

I hope the guest will like me

don't talk too much

don't speak too loud

don't be such a... kid

Finally, the elevator doors opened, making way for Peter to step inside before they slid closed once again.

"Welcome, Mr. Parker. How may I help you today?"

Peter looked around to locate where the voice came from, eyes eventually landing on a small camera in the upper right corner of the elevator.

"h-hello?"

He waved nervously at the camera, wondering who it was that is keeping watch over him.

"Hello, Mr. Parker. Where may I take you?"

Peter only stared at the camera, wondering what he should do

He was still in his suit, and whoever was behind the camera obviously knew his identity

Did Mr. Stark give out my identity?

No, he wouldn't do that... right?

Then, a sudden realization popped into his head, causing Peter to slap himself mentally.

"Are you an AI?"

The ceiling voice rumbled slightly, making an almost car-like sound, before answering, "That would be correct. I am known as Female Replacement Intelligent Digital Assistant Youth."

Peter breathed out a quiet breath of relief once he realized that his identity was, in fact, safe.

"Female Replacement Intelligent Digital Assistant Youth," He muttered to himself, turning the words around in his mind, feeling like he's missing something, "Oh, like F.R.I.D.A.Y? Is that your acronym?"

The AI went silent for a couple of seconds before answering the boy's question, "Yes, I am called FRIDAY."

Peter's lips turned up into a small smile, "Well, it's very nice to meet you, FRIDAY."

"to you as well, Mr. Parker."

Peter grinned up at the camera and grabbed the bottom of his mask, peeling it off and shoving it into his bag

he supposed that whoever Mr. Stark wanted him to meet didn't know he was spiderman

He pulled a rather large hoodie and sweatpants out of his backpack and quickly pulled them on over his suit

Then he remembered that FRIDAY was still waiting for a response,

"Oh, sorry, FRIDAY. Can you take me to wherever Mr. Stark is?"

The AI didn't respond, but the elevator began to move upwards

The trip wasn't very long, and before he knew it, the elevator doors opened again

The room they opened up to was huge

It was a large room, with grey walls and a dark wood floor. To the back of the room was a kitchen, and near the front of the room was a living room set up

But Peter was more interested in the people inside of the room

Towards the center, there stood Mr. stark and two men who Peter didn't recognize.

Peter was about to speak up when the two strange men turned around, and he saw their faces.

Woah

are they Loki and Thor?

"Stark, why is there a child in the room?" asked a confused Loki, whose eyes were rested upon peter with a slightly narrowed look, making a cold shiver go through Peter's spine

Tony whipped his head around to face Peter, and as soon as he caught a glimpse of who the man was speaking of, his startled eyes seemed to soften.

"Hey, kid.", He cleared his throat awkwardly, shoving his hands into his pockets,  "I wanted you to meet Thor today. Thor refuses to fight with people who he doesn't know, and you'll be joining us in future battle." He sent a light glare towards the muscular man, who pointedly ignored him

Peter nodded his head shakily, momentarily forgetting how to properly breath

in and out, peter, in and out

"h-hello, Mr. Thor," he stuttered out, earning himself a nod in return from the older man.

Tony let out a cough, bringing Peter's attention back onto him, "He had to bring Loki along because apparently, reindeer games over here can't be trusted on his own like a normal adult."

Loki just rolled his eyes in return, not sparing Peter a glance

Loki? Isn't that the guy who tried to overpower New York?

Loki seemed to deem Peter boring, as he went back to reading his book

Peter grinned slightly, deciding that faking his confidence is better than seeming anxious, and stepped up to Thor, holding out his hand,

"Hello, Mr. Odinson. I'm Peter Parker. It's very nice to meet you!"

Thor smiled at Peter, and took his hand into his own, "Hello, young Peter. I am very pleased to meet you as well."

Peter smiled, internally congratulating himself at a successful greeting, and walked over to Loki, who just glanced back up at him.

"Hello, Mr. Loki. It's very nice to meet you!" Peter greeted, offering the man a kind, hopefully not nervous, smile.

Loki just raised an eyebrow at him and asked in a bored tone, "Is it really? or are you just making a pathetic attempt at being nice?"

Peter blinked down at him, not exactly knowing how to respond to that

Well, someones in a crappy mood today

He tried not to show his hurt and quickly recovered, saying, "Of course I'm not lying. It's really nice to meet you in person! I have heard a lot of stuff about you."

Loki let out a snort, rolling his eyes and looking back down at his book, still ignoring Peter's outstretched hand, "I'm sure you have. Tell me, was any of it good?"

Peter took back his hand, figuring that the man wouldn't be shaking it anytime soon, and scratched the back of his neck nervously,

"i-i mean, not really," he admitted, looking over to Tony for help, who only raised an amused eyebrow, jerk, "But, what good is it to base your opinions off of other's experiences?"

Loki looked up to peter, giving him a death stare that made peter feel as though he were completely invisible.

Apparently not having a response to his question, Loki looked back down to his book, avoiding all eye contact with the boy.

Peter quietly sighed in frustration.

I'm trying to be nice, but he's not exactly making it easy

Before Peter could think of another way to gain Loki's attention, Thor cleared his throat, drawing Peter's eyes over to him

"well," He started, thumping Tony on the back, making the younger man wince in pain, "I must excuse myself to the restroom. Would you hold my hammer for me, young Parkerson?"

Peter glanced up at Tony, confused, wondering why Thor couldn't just set his hammer on the floor.

Tony rolled his eyes, quietly mouthing to Peter, "He does this with everybody. It keeps him entertained."

Peter furrowed his brows slightly but turned to Thor and shrugged, "uh, sure, Mr. Thor."

A huge grin spread across Thor's face as he picked up his hammer and held it out for Peter to hold

Peter sighed, knowing that the hammer would drop, and gripped the hammer in the palm of his hand, slowly lifting it out of Thor's

Thor's eyebrows rose at the sight, seeming to do a doubletake before his eyes began to widen more by the second.

Peter made no reaction, just stared at his hand in obvious confusion

Is this a joke?

This cant is the real hammer.

Loki, who grew tired at the silence, peaked up from his book, face freezing in plain shock once his eyes met the sight in front of him.

"Brother, is that your-" He started, only to be cut off by the sound of shattering glass.

Peter quickly turned his head over to his right, where he saw Mr. Stark standing above a broken water glass.

He didn't seem to notice that he dropped it, though, as he was gapping at Peter, lips parted slightly in surprise.

Loki smirked, getting over his initial shock enough to speak, "I knew it."

"Y-you knew what, M-mr Loki?" Peter stammered, growing nervous he did something wrong.

Was I not supposed to lift it?

Oh shoot, how'd I already mess things up? it's only been like ten minutes

"THE PARKERSON IS WORTHY," Thor boomed, picking up Peter and setting him on his shoulders.

Peter let out a surprised squeak, gripping the man's hair in panic

"Wha- Woah, p-put me down, Mr. Odinson!" he yelled as Thor started running around the room, Peter still on his shoulders

Loki once again rolled his eyes and returned to his reading, while tony was obviously making a failed attempt at hiding his laughter

"Mr. Stark, this is NOT funny!" Peter shouted in defense, still clinging onto thor's head for dear life

Tony defensively lifted his hands, still chuckling, "You and I clearly have different definitions of the word funny, Parker."

"rude," Peter protested, accidentally releasing his grip on Thor's hair, Peter squeaking as he fell off of his shoulders

Loki snorted, finally closing his book, deciding that these current events were more exciting than whatever he was reading

Thor winced in sympathy and helped Peter up, who was still staring at him with wide eyes

what just happened..?

Loki, sensing Peter's confusion, spoke up, "Don't worry about it, child. My brother has always been quite reckless."

Thor glared at his younger brother but didn't say anything

Loki shrugged the glares off and walked out of the room, winking at Peter on his way out

did he just... wink at me?

The heck was that?

No one else seemed to notice, though, as Tony picked the conversation up from where they left off as if none of the past five minutes even happened.

I'll also make sure to update longer chapters! Again, I'm so sorry!!!
