Fandom Laughs 4th Instalment

I don't know what else to post here and I don't even know who all even reads this random book book anymore but I don't think I've talked about fandoms is a while so whatever.

Everyone knows I like Tolkien. Lotr, the Silm, the Hobbit, HoME, everything. It's embedded in my soul and I love it.

I loved Marvel for a long time, but due to the overcommercialization and general soullessness of recent instalments I have lost my taste for it but I did enjoy Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Avatar: the Last Airbender is widely acclaimed as a masterpiece, which it is. A good friend of mine has talked about it for years but I didn't want to watch it until a few years ago, when I asked her if she wanted to watch it with me because she has all the DVDs of it to which she gleefully agreed and every week I could I was at her house getting in another few episodes. I'm a binger all the way, but having to take breaks between episodes really does make you savor it and enjoy it while it's happening. I'm not going to learn my lesson tho. Avatar is Amazing, and Legend or Korra is also amazing. It's not as good as the the first series because nothing is, and its meant for teenagers instead of kids so its a bit more grown up, (at least openly. the amount of extremely messed up and disturbing things i've seen in TVY7 shows is incredible i guess kids can handle trauma at a young age now) But LoK is still good and I still like it.

I spent most of my life disliking Star Wars because ew sci-fi and ew aliens and ew spacey science stuff but I warmed right up the memes because who wouldn't and i watched the Mandalorian and loved it, and watched all the movies, the Original Trilogy was meh the Prequels were funny and the Sequels were bleh, I wouldn't say I actually like Star Wars as a whole until I watched Rebels. It got me into the world of Star Wars and made me like the Originals, watched Clone Wars which is just a masterpiece, and played the game Star Wars: The Old Republic and love it. Knights of the Old Republic is next on my list. The journey continues.

I was hard into K-pop and K-dramas for several years but I think I am over it now. It was pretty outside of all my other interests so it was kinda weird that I got into in the first place buut no it isn't, everything is so shiny and pretty and perfectly catered to get people to like it. It's fun and pretty and it was fun while it lasted. This is the internet and nobody knows me so I can say this here, my mom of all people like k-dramas and k-pop now. That's insane. She thought it was super weird while I liked it and now she's into it and I'm over it. How the turntables have.

Some minor fandoms, Voltron: I liked the show till season 6(?) but kinda fizzled out and the fandom is annoying as all get out which turned me off to it I know I'm lame. Merlin: haven't completely finished the show yet but I do really like it when I'm in the mood for it and have several friends to like it with so that's nice. Dragon Prince: I was obsessed with that show when I first watched it, kinda fizzled out now but waiting to be revived when season 4 comes out. The Untamed: Loved it while watching it, not my favorite anymore but I keep tabs on it through one of my tumblr mutuals who posts a lot about it. Uhhhh i think that's it for minor fandoms.

Narnia like Lotr, I've always loved it, it's more in the background but i do love it.

The works of Brandon Sanderson are near and dear to my heart. I read Mistborn years ago but didn't know it was part of a larger collection I thought it was just a cool unique fantasy book. Hoo boy. The Stormlight Archives.. oh man. Okay I read The Way of Kings on the three day roadtrip back home immediately after my dad died. I'd been meaning to read it and at the time I needed something to escape with, but I still love those books and as soon as I finish my reread of Oathbringer I will get Rhythm of War. Oh, and I had no idea what I was getting into, I thought it was just a trilogy but then I learn nope this is a ten book mega saga we'll be getting new stormlight books in the 2030s yay

Most recently: TRANSFORMERS          MORE THAN MEETS THE EYEE     TRANSFORMERSS       *drums drums*               ROBOTS IN DISGUIIIIIIISE    AUTOBOTS WAGE THEIR BAATTLES TOO DESTROYY     THE EVIL FORCES OOOF    THE DECEPTICONS         *guitar riff*                         TRANSFORMERS        *doo do doo do doo doo dooooo* *mechanical voice* transformers

This summer I was bored one day and I thought Transformers was kinda cool y'know I don't care about robots or cars or anything like that so I don't know my line of thought here but like I said I was bored so I find the original Transformers show from the 80s, not called Generation 1, and started watching. I want you all to watch this video.

This is an excellent show. The red and blue and white guy with the high pitched voice who's always screaming? That's Starscream and he's my favorite. I mean, they're all my favorite now but Starscream was my first favorite.

I was not terribly far into G1 when I friend suggested Transformers: Prime (there's like a dozen transformers shows alone plus comic books plus movies this is insane it's almost as bad as star wars and there's even more versions of canon it's insane why do i do this to myself) So I watched Prime and I LOVED it it's amazing. After Prime I was hungry for more because it ends kinda open ended and I didn't know about the movie but I did hear about Transformers: Robots in Disguise which is in the same continuity as Prime so obvs I had to watch it. It isn't quite as good as Prime but it also isn't as bad as I've heard some people say. I like it. I also watched a bit of Armada because I heard Starscream legit joined the Autobots in it and I wanted to see that happen, and Armada is also an Anime and those are fun. Then I watched Transformers: Animated (which is a funny title because all transformers are animated, even the "live action" ones) I didn't expect to like it at all but SIKE I liked it as much as Prime. Yesterday I watched the first two Michael Bay Transformers movies and yes they are awful and they gave me a headache. I've been tempted to get into the IDW comics but I know if I do that this will consume me and I've been consumed by too many other things so I'm gonna have to cool it.

*whew* And now the Laughs part of the instalment.

Anywho, I've spent almost 2 decades of my life being a nerd and I think I will always be a nerd :] Thank you and goodnight
