Chapter Four
Annabeth's P.O.V.
I busied myself cleaning the cabin. I would wait for Percy. I had gotten his IM and it took me a moment to realize that he wasn't really there. But I was so happy to see his face, to hear his voice. But then I saw that... that bitch that had dared attack my Seaweed Brain on the beach on his birthday for the gods' sake!
I would wait for him to come back. He said he would. And there was nothing that they could do to make him stay there against his will. But to keep myself from dissolving into worry and panic, I cleaned. I took a toothbrush and a bucket of water and cleaned the blood off the floor. I picked up the things that Percy had dropped when he was going to make breakfast but had dropped it to jump in front of me and take that arrow. I shuddered and shook my head. He looked fine in the IM. So he had to be fine.
Back to cleaning. I packed, and repacked, and re-repacked our clothes. First just folding them and putting them in our suitcases, then taking them out and refolding them then placing them in the suitcases, color-coding them. Then taking them out, refolding them and putting them in in according to how often we wear them. I was now in the middle of refolding them so I could put them away again according to color, and how often we wear them.
"Annabeth! Where is Percy?" I jumped to my feet, the newly folded cloths toppling to the floor and coming unfolded, stifling a scream and whirling around to look behind me.
"Chiron..." I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw the old centaur in an Iris-Message behind me. "What's wrong?"
"Rachel got a vision about Percy. He was outside with a bunch of other people and monsters. Most of the people were campers and there were a few people who were older and were weird. One was a red-haired woman, there was huge green monster that seemed to be on our side, a guy dressed in a patriotic suit with a shield he kept throwing around, another guy running around shooting arrows like a son of Apollo, something flying around in a metal suit, and a someone flying around with a huge hammer electrocuting monsters with lightning like a son of Zeus. And there was a sinister evil there. I did not recognize it from the picture Rachel provided me with, but the vision ended with the evil being laughing and holding a rope as Percy struggled with one around his neck that went up and over a tree branch. The vision ended with the evil hanging Percy. Where is he? We need to make sure that this particular future does not come to end badly. Where is he?" I stared in shock.
"P-Percy was taken earlier, but he called me a few hours ago and said he was alight. He looked fine to me. He sounded fine, and it didn't look like he was hiding anything. The people who aren't campers attacked us yesterday, but they're a joke. Percy beat them easily. And the only reason that he stayed with them when they took him earlier was that he was having fun with them. They think that they're a match for him. They think that they can stop him from leaving whenever he wants. He IM'd me and said he'd be back soon. Send campers to the place Rachel saw this fight. Tell me where to go and I will meet you there." I said.
"Central Park. See you there, Annabeth." Chiron said grimly. He swiped through the Iris-Message and I ran to the kitchen, the clothes forgotten. I turned on the faucet and waited for a rainbow form in the mist. As soon as one did, I tossed a drachma in the mist and prayed to Iris to let me see Percy.
Percy's P.O.V.
It was hilarious hearing their reactions to my story. I had finished and they didn't bother with any more tests. They just walked into the room and faced me with expressions ranging from shock, to horror, to disbelief, to sadness (that was from Thor), to the look Natasha was giving me. She was looking at me with fear, shock, disbelief, and horror, hiding behind Clint. I winced. I really hadn't meant to scare her so bad.
"Percy!" Annabeth's voice sounded behind me. I turned and there she was in an Iris-Message.
"Annabeth!" I smiled and ignored the faces behind me. "What's up?"
"Rachel had a vision. Of you. At Central Park. With those guys that tried to attack you yesterday. And someone else. A really evil guy. Chiron gave me the picture Rachel drew of him once I joined them at Central Park. Here." She held up a picture of a skinny guy wearing a helmet with horns it looked like curling from the sides. He had a long cape and what looked like a jumpsuit. I heard Thor growl and the Avengers gasp.
"Loki." Thor said.
"You know this weirdo?" I asked.
"Yes, mighty Perseus. He is my adopted brother. Loki, the Norse god of mischief, trickery, and thievery."
"We've faced him before, it's no simple task to get rid of him. He's always one step ahead." Tony said, shaking his head. "It took us a few weeks, a close bombing, and stopping a giant invading alien army first before we could take him down. Even with you here, it would take a lot of planning and a lot of force and a lot of time to plan it all out. None of which we have."
I laughed. "Annabeth is a daughter of Athena. She's great with plans! She probably already has one. There are two whole camps of demigods with training and all kinds of powers. How's that for force? And then there's me. I'm force on my own. But we don't know Loki. We're going to need your help. Cause it looks like Loki's making his comeback at Central Park. So let's get there and kick his ass! Also, stop calling me Perseus! I hate that name! It's Percy." They all looked at me and smiled.
"Let's go kick some godly ass!" Clint exclaimed. The rest of the team whooped in agreement.
"See you guys there! Bye, eye-patch!" I said, then I ran out of the room. I heard Thor's excited yell, Natasha's screech, Clint's surprised yelp, Tony's startled exclamation of 'Shit!' Steve's laugh, Peter's fall on his butt, and Fury's growl of surprise. I smiled again and raced out of the facility.
Tony's P.O.V.
"Holy shit! That kid is fast! Is he really going to run all the way to Central Park?" I said as Percy ran out of the room. Natasha screeched and hid farther behind Clint. Peter fell on his butt with an oof. Steve laughed. Clint yelped and scuttled backward. Thor yelled excitedly to see his favorite hero in action. Fury growled, a look of astonishment on his face.
"Well friends? We can't let Percy have all the fun!" Thor said and ran out of the room, followed closely by the rest of us. We ran to the jet and piled in. We took off to join Percy and his army of demigods.
Annabeth's P.O.V.
I waited for Percy. I stayed by Chiron and Rachel as we waited for Percy and the other people to arrive. I felt a tap on my shoulder and whirled around. A smile lit up my face.
"Percy!" I screeched, throwing my arms around him. I planted a kiss on his cheek and he pouted, making baby seal eyes at me.
"Aw... I've been gone most of the day, and you give me a kiss on the cheek? Come on, Wise Girl! I want a real kiss!" He leaned down and smiled his beautiful crooked smile.
"Well, if you insist, Seaweed Brain..." I stared into his eyes and trailed off as our lips met. I kissed him and it was amazing. I loved my Seaweed Brain. His lips were soft and gentle on mine. They were warm and moved with mine. He tilted his head and leaned deeper into the kiss. Our lips pressed together and he pulled me closer, I pushed myself closer. I wanted my Seaweed Brain more than anything else in the world. I mean, my Seaweed Brain is my world. He's my life, my one true love, my everything. Without my Seaweed Brain, I am nothing.
When we finally pulled away, I realized that we had attracted a lot of attention. I blushed and looked down, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. Percy smiled and pulled me into another kiss, this one shorter but still passionate. We prompted a cheer from the crowd of gathered demigods. I heard the sounds of jet engines above us. I looked up and Percy smiled.
"That would be our backup!" He yelled over the noise.
"The people who took you away from me?" I said, I didn't like them. They took him. They hurt him. They wanted to keep him. He looked down at me with his crooked smile growing wider.
"Yes, the people that took me away from you and wanted to keep me from you. But we both know that would never happen." He looked back up at the jet as seven people jumped out of it. The guy in the iron suit, the red-haired woman, the guy with a bow and a quiver of arrows, Thor, the person who looked like a spider, and the guy in a patriotic suit (seriously. He looked like a human flag.), and a regular looking guy. But what I found funny, was that the red-head kept a safe distance from Percy, preferably behind the archer.
I smiled smugly. She must have made Percy mad. And that Percy must have scared her. Ha! That'll show her! I waked over with Percy on my arm.
"Hello! I'm Annabeth! The girl you sent into a panic attack when you injured and kidnapped her boyfriend!" I said it all with fake cheeriness, and a smile on my face. They all cringed when I said that.
"Sorry..." The archer muttered, refusing to meet my eyes.
"No hard feelings, Clint! Annabeth knows that I wouldn't let you keep me away from her for very long. And my back is fine. Just a little sore." Percy said. "Annabeth, this is Clint," He pointed to the archer. "Natasha," He pointed to the red-head hiding behind Clint. "Steve," The guy dressed like a flag. "Peter," Spider guy. "Tony," The guy in the iron suit. "Thor," The one with the huge hammer of course. "And Bruce." The regular looking guy.
"Hello!" They all shook my hand and smiled.
"So you're the Annabeth Chase who can kick some serious ass!" Peter said from under his mask. "Percy told us all about your adventures!" He said when I looked a little confused. Percy told them all about what we've been through? I looked at him quizzically and he shrugged.
"They really wanted to know. I tried to warn them... But they just kept asking." He said, wrapping his arm around me tighter. Just then, we heard a roar. A roar that built up with multiple voices. The monster army had arrived.
