Fifty: That is All

The six of them found a round table in the corner of the Chateau Picard, the cafe in the village of Farpoint.
None were feeling particularly talkative, mostly because nobody really knew what to talk about. Venom had a brownie with her as usual, Thalia a bit of fudge, and Jack a coffee.
Logan cleared his throat. "Thalia, you said you were going somewhere earlier?"
"Oh, yeah, I'm going on a weekend mission to Stillwater Heights." Thalia said. "I tried to refuse, but he really wanted me to go. I don't know why."
Venom smiled a little, but didn't say anything.
"What's the mission about?" Kevin asked.
"There's apparently been a few attacks." Thalia answered. "Nothing unusual but Sky seems particularly worried about this town."
"I get the feeling you're going to find out just why you're there." Venom said. "But he has a reason. He always has a reason, even if it's moronic."
Thalia stared at her. "You know, don't you."
    Venom just smirked.
"She has a thing for base history." Kevin took a drink of Jack's coffee. "Sometimes I think she knows more about Sky than he does-gah!" He coughed and quickly set the coffee down. "What the hell - Jack, this is black coffee!"
"Yeah." Jack said. "I never said you had to drink it."
Kevin simply coughed into his elbow as a response.
Jack rolled his eyes and stood. "Well, I'll leave you guys here."
"What - no! You aren't leaving for four months again!" Kevin stood up quickly, grabbing his wrist.
Jack's eyes narrowed. "I'll do what I like."
"No, every time you go away somebody dies. You're staying here, because none of us are going anywhere." Kevin looked at the others around the table. "Right?"
The others chimed in confirmation, except for Wolf, who looked at Jack. "Cerenarre stara, oa torr." She said.
Jack hesitated, then sighed. "A torr." He replied. "Bret oa torr rerat A conon interstar. Rerat A conon facere componierr."
"Sal, potens A con, oa con." Wolf smirked at him and he stared back knowingly.
Jack thought over Wolf's words for a moment, then looked at Kevin. "I'll make you a deal." He said. "I will come back every Sunday to train with you - every single Sunday - if you let me explore the rest of the week."
"Saturday and Sunday." Kevin said firmly.
Jack rolled his eyes. "Fine, sure. Every weekend." He sat back down, and Kevin smiled before doing the same.
Wolf looked to Thalia. "So, what about that new title?"
"Oh!" Thalia sat forward. "Right, yeah, I'm a Skylord now. A real Skylord." She smiled. "And I chose Farpoint as my patron city."
"Skylord Thalia Kal, patron of Farpoint." Kevin said mock boldly. "That's some rank."
Thalia shrugged. "Yeah, I like it." She looked at Logan. "Did you talk to the Commander yet?"
    He blinked. "...About what."
"About the last dragon lord, what else?" Kevin said with an amused smile.
"Oh you mean the division!" Logan said.
"Yes the division! Did you ask the Commander about if?" Thalia asked hopefully.
    Logan nodded. "Yeah, yeah."
"...What'd he say?" Wolf asked slowly.
"Oh! He said I should follow Mitch and Jerome around for a while and let them teach me just how to lead a division, and if I still want to after three months, I can."
"God, that's so cool." Kevin said. "You're gonna be one of the leaders."
"It's actually a really good idea." Thalia said. "Having a repairs team to fix stuff all over the base. But y'know, being a leader is gonna be a lot of work."
Logan shrugged. "I'll manage." He said. "I've got a lot of ideas for it already. And it'll be perfect for people like me, who want to be in the army but can't fight or be clever or anything."
"I think that's a great idea." Thalia said. "You're gonna have fun, I think. And if you want, I can help teach you a little about leadership."
"I should be fine." Logan replied. "But I'll let you know if I don't feel as confident later on."
    Thalia nodded. "I'll be waiting."
The group fell silent for a moment.
"So... What now?" Wolf asked finally.
"Well, we're a team now... Team Omega." Thalia hesitated. "I guess we just continue on as such."
The group nodded and grew silent again, Jack taking a sip of his coffee and not reacting like Kevin had before.
Said male looked around them all and seemed to realize something about what they were doing. He smiled, then leaned back in his chair. "Waiter!" He called. "Could I get some shawarma please?"
