The Blade of Marmora
After spending another week living in the castle of lions it was time for Thace to go to the main Blade of Marmora headquarters; Kolivan left a small ship in the castle's pod bay so that he wouldn't be completely stranded without transportation. (Y/n) was going with Thace because he wanted her to feel safe and she refused to let him go alone even though he technically wasn't alone; Antok was healed enough to come out of the healing pod he slept in for the past two weeks and would be traveling with his fellow Blade to the main headquarters. Thace was a little nervous to introduce (Y/n) to Kolivan seeing as the Marmoran leader was extremely strict, but he knew that Kolivan wouldn't actually harm his tiny human friend. While they were getting ready to leave he noticed how nervous (Y/n) was about leaving; she was still adjusting to being free and moving to a new base was nerve-wracking for her. (Y/n) was sitting on the bed in their room while Thace put his newly sewn bodysuit on before putting on his old empire armor, wondering what Kolivan’s reaction to her would be.
"Don't be nervous (Y/n). I know that this is stressful for you, but we'll be settled at the main Blades' headquarters before you know it." Thace spoke softly when he knelt in front of (Y/n) who was still sitting on the bed, trying to help her to calm down and not be as anxious.
"I can't help it; what if Kolivan forces me to leave or kills me? Or what if one of the other Blades tries to hurt me?" (Y/n) questioned anxiously while thinking about each worst case scenario, scared about what would happen to her if the Blades didn't think she was worth taking in.
"I won't let him make you leave and none of the other Blades will harm you, I promise. I promised you long ago that I would never leave you and I meant it." Thace calmly reassured her, gently reminding (Y/n) about the promise he made her when she was younger.
"I remember when you made that promise. Thanks for being here for me." (Y/n) responded with a slight smile, feeling less anxious than before with his reassurance.
"And I intend on keeping it. Now come on, it's time for us to meet Antok in the pod bay and leave." Thace concluded, wiggling his ears a little and causing (Y/n) to giggle for a moment before he stood up.
(Y/n) slid off of the bed and stood up after Thace moved out of the way, walking over to the shoes she was given and put them on before she followed him out of the room they had been allowed to stay in. On the way to the pod bay The paladins and Coran said their goodbyes and wished Thace and (Y/n) luck on their journey to the Blades' main headquarters. (Y/n's) heart raced in her chest with each step she took; she'd seen Antok in the healing pod he was in, but he was awake and she was incredibly nervous about meeting the big buff Blade. As soon as they walked into the pod bay Thace and (Y/n) saw Antok leaning against the side of the Blades' ship, patiently waiting for them to go with him to their destination. Antok looked at the young human woman who was walking beside his fellow Blade and noticed how close she was walking next to him; he was thankful he was wearing his mask during that particular moment.
"It's about time you got here. Kolivan just contacted me a few doboshes ago and he's getting impatient." Antok rumbled once Thace was standing close enough to him, not acknowledging (Y/n) right away.
"I apologize for being late; the paladins wanted to say their farewells. This is (Y/n), the human I've known and been protecting for so long." Thace replied before introducing (Y/n) to Antok, gesturing to her while she hid behind him a little.
"So you're Thace's mate. It's nice to finally meet you." Antok said while he looked down at (Y/n), speaking with a friendly tone so as not to frighten her.
"M-mate? I-I'm not... I mean, we're not-" (Y/n) sputtered in embarrassment, unsure of how to respond to what the bigger Blade thought she and Thace were to each other.
"(Y/n's) just a friend, Antok." Thace spoke for his human friend who couldn't speak properly after what Antok said; he knew she needed to regain her composure.
"Just a friend, huh? We'll see for how long you two are "just friends." Antok implied suggestively before he walked through the ship's door and to the cockpit, knowing that there was chemistry going on between Thace and (Y/n).
Thace scoffed at what Antok was implying before he followed him into the ship, glancing down at (Y/n) who had a dark blush covering most of her face. He decided to sit on the back bench and (Y/n) sat next to him; he could smell how nervous she was feeling and he could guarantee Antok could too. (Y/n) was nervous and flustered at the same time; sure she spended a lot of time with Thace and stayed close to him, but it didn't mean they were in a romantic relationship with each other. On the way to the hidden Marmoran base Thace told (Y/n) about a few things he felt she needed to know before she met Kolivan and the others. While they quietly talked to each other in the back seat Antok was glad that he finally got to meet the human Thace was so fond of for so long; he knew there was a good chance they liked each other, but apparently they didn't know it yet.
__________
(Y/n) was practically shaking as she followed Thace and Antok out of the pod bay and to Kolivan’s office, feeling scared to meet Kolivan and desperately hoping he wouldn't send her back to live with the paladins without Thace. After arriving at the main Blade of Marmora headquarters Antok landed the ship in the indoor parking lot and they got out of the small ship before heading straight to their temporary destination. Thace could easily sense (Y/n) was nervous and let her hold his left hand as a way to comfort her; for someone who was so much smaller than he was he had to admit that she had a really strong grip. Long ago he told Kolivan about (Y/n) shortly after he first met her, so it wasn't like her being there was going to be a surprise for his leader. When the three of them entered Kolivan’s office the Marmoran leader looked up from his datapad and put it on his desk, sitting back in his chair while keeping his usual stoic expression on his face.
"It's good to have you both back; I take it the beginning of your break went well." Kolivan spoke when his second in command and subordinate were standing in front of his desk.
"Yes, Leader." Antok replied with a slight nod, looking down at Kolivan while keeping his usual calm demeanor.
"I'm glad to hear that. You two along with Ulaz will be on leave from any missions until further notice seeing as there won't be any empire activity for a while." Kolivan told Antok and Thace; after everything they and Ulaz did he was going to let them stay at the main headquarters for a while.
Antok and Thace thanked their leader for his generosity; after everything they'd been through it would be nice to finally not have to go out on any missions for a while. Antok lived within the main headquarters and was given time off from his usual duties so he could finish healing after nearly being killed and kept in a healing pod for an extended period of time. (Y/n) peeked out from behind Thace and looked at Kolivan, noticing how rigid he seemed while he sat at his desk. She lightly squeezed Thace's hand which caused him to look down at her while also making the other two men look at her as well; Antok didn't mind the young woman's presence, but Kolivan wasn't sure what to think when he finally noticed her. Kolivan knew Thace was bringing (Y/n) to the base, although he wasn't expecting her to hide behind him.
"And you must be (Y/n); Thace told me about you in his reports. You can stay in his habsuite seeing as you both are close friends." Kolivan spoke calmly when he made eye contact with (Y/n); he knew how frightened she would be after being a prisoner for so long and he didn't want to scare her.
"Thank you, Sir." (Y/n) spoke with as much confidence as she could muster, stepping out from behind her friend and looking directly into Kolivan’s yellow pupil-less eyes.
Kolivan gave a slight nod of acknowledgement to the young woman before dismissing Antok and Thace, knowing that they had things they wanted or needed to do. Antok went to visit Ulaz in the infirmary while Thace took (Y/n) to his habsuite where they would be living together for a long time, making sure to walk slowly enough for her to keep up with him until they arrived. (Y/n) was impressed with the main Blade of Marmora headquarters and she liked how it was better lit than galra central command. After unlocking his front door Thace stepped to the side and let (Y/n) walk in first; after being gone for so long he wasn't surprised that there was a medium layer of dust covering pretty much everything, including the little knick-knacks he had displayed in his living room and bedroom. (Y/n) looked around after Thace turned the lights on and followed her through the doorway; the main room was the living room, the doorway to the right led to the kitchen and dining room while the doorway across the way led to the bedroom which had a bathroom connected to it.
"It's pretty nice in here." (Y/n) said while she looked at her surroundings; everything was dusty, but with a little cleaning the whole place would look a lot better.
"I'm glad you like it. Once I clean everything my- our habsuite will look nearly brand new." Thace responded awkwardly; he wished that he had the chance to clean his home before he arrived with (Y/n).
"I can help you clean up if you like, it seems like a lot for just one person to do." (Y/n) offered with determination after she turned to face her friend, offering to help him with the habsuite cleaning seeing as how dusty everything was.
"I would be honored if you joined me in cleaning up, but first let's get something to eat before we begin." Thace jested with a grin before suggesting that they go get something to eat; they couldn't clean up on empty stomachs, after all.
(Y/n) covered her mouth with one hand and giggled a little; she liked seeing him less rigid and let loose every once in a while. Thace decided to show her around before taking her to the main kitchen where they could get something to eat together. He realized that he would need to get a step-stool for her along with some other basic supplies; there were spare clothes and other such things in the supplies room, but he knew she would need other things that weren't kept in the base. By the time Thace took (Y/n) to the main kitchen the other Blades were doing their own thing around the base, giving them the privacy they desired. (Y/n) was still nervous to meet the other Blades, so Thace would make dinner for both of them to eat in his habsuite after they finished cleaning everything.
__________
(Y/n) stood on the step-stool Thace gave her and looked at herself while she brushed her teeth in the bathroom, thankful that her friend found a few basic supplies for her in the supplies room. After spending four days in Thace's habsuite she was finally ready to join everyone in the cafeteria for breakfast. Thace wanted to make sure she was really ready after what she had been through in the past, but (Y/n) reassured him that she was ready to face her fears. Once her hair and teeth were brushed she was ready to go and Thace led the way; he already did his morning routine, so he was ready even though she seemed a little anxious. Thace chose the table closest to the cafeteria doors and got some food goo for him and (Y/n) before finally sitting down next to her so they could eat, giving her a comforting look to help boost her confidence.
"So are all the other Blades here?" (Y/n) quietly asked Thace after surveying the room, seeing that most of the tables were full of people sitting at them.
"No, there are still some out on missions. Those of us who were pulled out of central command are here." Thace answered before he scooped up another spoonful of purple food goo and ate it, enjoying its sweet fruity flavor.
(Y/n) only recognized a few of the other Blades, but being around them made her feel anxious and she knew they could smell her pheromones. With Thace sitting right next to her she felt a lot safer than when he was getting them breakfast. She usually disliked eating purple food goo because it reminded her of the stuff she was fed at central command, although the super sweet fruity flavor made her hum in delight. (Y/n) glanced to the side when she noticed someone walking in the direction of the table she and Thace were sitting at, that someone being the Blades' main doctor; Ulaz. Ulaz wanted to catch up with his childhood friend and decided to sit across from him since he finally joined everyone in the cafeteria for breakfast.
"Is it alright if I sit here?" Ulaz calmly asked Thace when he stopped walking and stood next to the table, glancing at (Y/n) who was slowly eating breakfast.
"Yes, of course. Please, join us." Thace beamed, inviting his oldest best friend to sit with him and the young woman he had befriended.
"Thank you. How are you feeling today, (Y/n)?" Ulaz thanked Thace as he sat down, quickly turning his attention to (Y/n); he spoke calmly as usual so as not to frighten her.
"I'm doing good." (Y/n) answered shyly, glancing up at the tall lanky doctor before turning her attention back to her food; she remembered meeting Ulaz when she lived at central command, but she didn't see him as much as she saw Thace.
Ulaz didn't ask her any more questions, mostly because she wanted to eat but also because she was feeling nervous. He let her eat in peace and talked to Thace, finally catching up with his friend who he hadn't seen much of for the past decaphoeb or so. The two men talked about the time when their previous missions were almost finished and what they had been up to within the previous weeks. (Y/n) didn't mind Thace telling Ulaz about her since he would never tell Ulaz about anything embarrassing; Thace wasn't the kind of person who did that because he respected her. With how well things were going within the main Marmoran base she felt a little more relaxed and confident about living there; the Blades were different from the empire and she knew Thace was right when he said they wouldn't harm her.
