It was a hot summer day. You were dripping sweat and panting heavily from the excessive heat wave that raged across Tuefort and the Blu's and Red's bases. Since it was scorching hot outside, you and the team took extra precautions when in battle. Medic would tell you and the others to stay hydrated and to not over exercise yourself.

You and the others were making your way inside, one reason is that it was ceasefire day, thankfully, and the second reason was because there was cold air conditioning inside. Right when you stepped in, you sighed in relief as the cool air blew on your moist sweaty skin making you shiver slightly. You trotted into your room, taking off your clothes and jumping in the shower. The bathroom was a bit small since it was meant for only one person, but you really didn't care as much as you would have.

You turned on the shower, feeling the cold water run down your body and cleaning your day's work off of it. You sang in the shower while scrubbing yourself with a light pink bar of soap that smelled like cherries. Once you were done, you pulled the light blue shower curtains and grabbed your white towel. You scrubbed and dried off and got into some pajama shorts and a t-shirt. You brushed your hair and put it in a bun and went to dinner.

2 days later:

Everything was going perfect for the past couple of days. You and your team had won a battle against the opposite team and the days went smoothly and the temperature went down for a little bit. You thought nothing could break this chain of luck...until the air conditioning system had broken down. "*panting* man why does it have to be so hooot!" complained Scout. You grumbled under your breath, annoyed and sweaty, you went to go take your 3rd cold shower that day. Once you got out you put a cold rag that was folded in half containing ice cubes in it on your forehead and layed down beside Medic and Sniper on the couch.

Everyone was moping around and exhausted from the battle that day and the heat. "Oh my god, when is Engie gonna be done with the air conditioning?" Scout pouted.
Just as he said that Engie walked in with oil staining his overalls and hand, which you found awfully cute. "Uh, fellas, bad news." He said in his Texan accent. Everyone looked at him. "This might take a bit longer than I anticipated." He said disappointed. Everyone groaned and you felt like snapping. "GOD DAMMIT!! IT'S FUCKING 103 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND IT AIN'T ANY BETTER IN HERE!! WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO FUCKING HOT! IT'S HOTTER THAN A WITCH'S TITTI IN HERE!!" You yelled to no one in particular. Everyone looked at you in surprise because you have never yelled like that, ever.

You blushed in embarrassment and stood up and apologized. "Uh, sorry guys.." You said quietly. "Well I gotta run to town and buy some parts for the unit. I won't be long, I'll be back he said. "Wait, Engie I'll go with you and help you." You said. "Well than, that's mighty kind a' you deary." He said while smiling. You blushed and headed out with Engie.

By the time you went to town, you were a bit sweaty and the rag had turned damp and squishy by the melted ice. Engie parked his truck in a empty parking lot that had only 2 cars. You and Engie walked in and got what you needed. You two walked out into the warm breeze which surprised you. You looked up and saw that it was almost sunset. You sighed while you closed your eyes knowing that it was cooling down. You opened your eyes to see that Engie wasn't next to you anymore. You started to get worried and called out his name, looking around desperately. "Hey girly~" You stopped and smiled knowing the familiar voice. You turned around to see Engie holding two ice cream cones, one of them was (ic/f) which was your favorite.

You blushed as he walked towards you, holding the cold dessert in his hand giving it to you. "Missed me?" He asked. You blushed and chuckled.
"Hmmm, nope." You said bubbly.
Engie raised in eyebrow while looking into your eyes while smirking. "Ok, fine..maybe I did." You said while licking some of the ice cream. He put the bags of tools and parts in the car and walked to a bench while you followed.

You two sat down talking for what seemed like ages while enjoying some ice cream. It was night time now and you and Engie got distracted by the twinkling stars in the giant dark sky.
He showed you different constellations and told you stories of when he was a kid and saw them back when he lived in his parent's farm. "You are so much fun to be with Engie, I hope we can do this again." You said while getting closer to the point where you rested your head on his shoulder her put an arm around you and held you tightly.

You two kissed gently while still in each others loving embrace. You two headed out back to the base and worked on the unit together. The next day it was finally working. You cheered and celebrated while Engie laughed and danced. "So uh, (y/n) wanna go out sometime?" Engie asked shyly. You giggled and kissed him on his warm cheek. "Of course Engie, I would love that."~♡
