DAVINA CLAIRE nearly sprinted into the hospital, skidding to a stop in front of the main desk.
"Natalia Monroe?" The woman looked at her questioningly, not understanding. "I need to find Natalia Monroe, right now!" Davina shouted, her heart hammering away in her chest.
"Are you Davina?" A voice asked, making the panicked girl look over. A boy who looked like Natalia, only significantly older. Davina only nodded, hearing Kol and Rebekah rush up behind her. "You must be her other friends, then. I'm Parker, Nate's older brother." Kol reached out to shake the man's hand, an odd and strange gesture for him.
"I'm Kol, and this is my sister Rebekah. How's Natalia?" Parker gestured for them to follow behind him as he turned around.
"Come see for yourself." The three followed behind him quietly, but Davina was practically in tears. The four stopped outside of a room, and Parker turned to look at them. "It's better for you to go in one at a time. She's alright, but she's still pretty tired." Almost as if on cue, Kol and Rebekah looked to Davina. Slowly, she nodded and carefully pushed the door open. Shutting it gently behind her, Davina stepped closer to Natalia, who was sitting up in her hospital bed. There was a bandage right above her left eyebrow and there was a cut on her bottom lip, all red and lightly swollen. Natalia's head snapped up, eyes widening as she saw Davina.
"What are you doing here?" She blurted out, anxiously pulling at loose threads on her blanket.
"I wanted to see you," Davina breathed, her heart aching. "I wanted to meet you, Lia, so bad." Tears welled up in her eyes and Davina walked closer to Natalia.
"Then why did you tell me to stay away!" Natalia yelled, her voice cracking. Her hands were trembling and she felt like she couldn't breathe. Suddenly, the door opened, and Kol walked in.
"Davina, I'll talk to her. Get some rest." Reluctantly, Davina left, but that didn't help Natalia. Kol slowly walked towards her, sitting in the seat next to her hospital bed. "It's okay, Nate, it's alright. Deep breaths, breathe with me." Natalia nodded, taking deep breaths with Kol, wiping tears away from her eyes in frustration.
"I'm sorry." Natalia muttered pathetically. "I'm sorry." Kol quickly pulled the younger girl into a hug. He didn't know how, but he would fix things; with a little help from his meddlesome siblings.
