Side Story #3 Free

Before the being could even answer the door swung open revealing a dumbfounded Mina. Her jaw dropped in a gasp as she gazed about the wrecked room. "(y/n), wha...?" Her eyes then landed on the Ouija board and she paled. "What are you doing?"

You immediately glared at her. "Mina..."

"What...?"

"I told you not to mess with this fucking thing."

"Why...?" She inquired hesitantly.

"'Cause now I have a fucking demon haunting me!" You scolded. "That's why you kept asking if I was okay or if I saw something right? Damn it, Mina!"

"Wait, so then you did see something? I'm not going crazy?" She breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank god! But what the hell is going on here?"

"Look for yourself!" You gestured to the broken mirror where the demon looked in.

She glanced at it and frowned. "What?"

"You don't see it?"

"See what? The room? Yeah, I know it's trashed."

"No, the demon! You can't see it?"

"Of course she can't, dumbass. I'm inside you, and I'm only allowing you to see me," the demon scoffed. His mouth moved but you could only hear him as voice in your head. Speaking of his voice, it wasn't the booming, gravely sound you imagined it'd be. Instead his texture was rough and brash in tone.

"Uh, no. You're freaking me out here, (y/n)," Mina replied unsure.

"So am I!" You yelled in exasperation.

"I know, I know! I'm sorry! I didn't know this was going to happen! I just did what the instructions said!" She bit her lip. "I even told all the bad spirits to go away. I thought we were safe!"

"If she thinks telling me to 'go away' is going to do anything she's stupider than she looks," the demon rolled his eyes.

"But don't worry! We'll fix this! Let me Google-"

"No! No more Google!" You interrupted mid-sentence. "If it wasn't reliable enough to do its job the first time I'm not chancing it for a second!"

"Then what are you going to do?" She questioned.

"I don't know!"

Mina stopped her interrogation and instead began to clean up the mess in the room with you. You got several complaints from your neighbors who all gathered at your door spouting profanities. It took a bit to calm them down but once you did they left begrudgingly. Once that was done you re-joined Mina in her efforts to restore the room.

"I got most of the wooden splinters. I'm gonna take them downstairs," She announced, sling a trash bag over her shoulder. "Do you want anything from the vending machines?"

"No... I'm gonna finish up with the glass here and probably meet you down there," You sighed. She nodded, watching you sadly as she shut the door.

You were lost in thought picking up the shards and tossing them in your own garbage bag when suddenly the demon spoke. "You're taking this rather calmly."

"What else am I supposed to do?" You huffed.

"You do realize that I could end your life at any moment, right? I can just snap my fingers and you'd stop breathing."

Your scowl deepened. "And yet you haven't. Why is that?"

"There's something I don't understand."

"What's that?"

"What did you do before?"

This made you pause. "Huh?"

"Don't act stupid! You know what I'm talking about!"

"I can guarantee you I don't."

"My hold on your soul loosened. You impeded my power."

You frowned. "I did?"

"You know you did!" You felt the demon's anger manifest in your body and you accidentally gripped your hand closed. You cried out in pain as the tiny shards of glass imbedded themselves into your skin. "A-ah! What the hell, asshole!?"

You immediately ran to the dorm building's bathrooms which were surprisingly deserted (then again it was getting pretty late) and ran your hand under the water. The first puddle formations of blood washed away causing a sharp sting to invade. You hissed as you waited for the bleeding to cease.

"I can heal that you know. Just tell me what you did," The demon bargained.

"I fucking hope you would! You caused it!" You shot back.

"Tell me."

"No."

"Tell me."

"No!"

"DAMN IT, YOU SHITTY GIRL, TELL ME WHAT YOU DID!"

"FINE!" You shouted back. Your rage was taking over but your wits never left. "Heal it and I'll tell you, asshole!"

Almost instantly your hand began to tingle. The blood gathering in your cuts vibrated slightly and it soaked back into your skin, the sliced flesh mending itself together as the water glided over it.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and wiggled your fingers as you looked at your now smooth hand. "Thanks."

"Alright your turn. Tell me what you did."

"I already told you I don't know," You replied simply, returning to your bedroom. "Nice of you to heal my hand though."

"WHAT!?" He screamed, enraged.

"Not my fault you don't listen," You shrugged. You placed your head phones in your ear once you got to your dorm all the while the demon was trying to yell at you over the music.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You fucking little shit!" Bakugou cursed angrily but you were too busy minding your business.
He was infuriated. One second he was wreaking havoc, draining the energy of his victim and then next thing he knew he was flung back like a rag doll. He couldn't explain. The night he possessed you he saw your soul glinting brighter than the others but he didn't think much of it. But now he was starting to question just why in the name of hell you were able to fight back his control.
Bakugou watched as you and your friend steadily cleaned up the aftermath and were finally able to settle into bed. It was midnight by that time and you were curled up in your bed staring at the ceiling. Your eyes were fixed on the glow in the dark stars that decorated your roof.
The demon suddenly felt a jolt of warm electricity run through him as your voice spoke into his space. "Are you still there?" You asked.
"Yes, you dumbass."
"Greaat...for second there I was disappointed you had left," You drawled sarcastically.
"Can't get rid of me that easily."
"I'm a broke-ass college student riddled with anxiety and sleep deprivation, what could you possibly want?"
"Why would I tell a stupid human like you?" Bakugou spat back. "Especially one that can't sleep in the dark."
"Are you kidding? A demon is bullying me for sleeping with glow in the dark stickers??" You scoffed incredulously. "You are ridiculous."
"Says the one who summoned me."
"That wasn't even me! Why didn't you go haunt them?"
"Because your soul is a demon's delight," Bakugou barked. "You wouldn't understand."
"You're right. I don't," You sighed in your head and rolled over on the bed. "In any case, I'm not giving in to your stupid tricks. If today's is anything to go by you can't completely control me." The triumphant grin on your face irked the blond. "Which means I still have shot of getting rid of you."
Despite you not being able to see him Bakugou glowered. "We'll see how long that lasts, glowstick."
You grumbled to yourself and threw the covers over yourself. "Goodnight, you fucking ghost."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Weeks turned to months and you still had the little demon hanging on your shoulder. It wasn't as bad as you thought though. Initially it was hard to get along with him as he was always lashing out and throwing items around whenever you returned an insult. However after a while you two began to converse and you found that on some level there was enough similarity for both of you to see in each other.

He told you to call him Bakugou, a name that befit his brash self rather perfectly. He took you aback when you got to know him and acted like any other grumpy guy your age. It caught you off guard sometimes how easy it was to forget that this man was a demon possessing your body.

It was like having a second roommate, only one that stuck around for way too long. But he wasn't always whispering in the back of your mind. Often when he'd claim to be busy or you were able to push him away for a bit, he'd come back a few hours later. You were quick to learn how to force his presence out when you wished, a skill that took you forever to be able to practice but you discovered it nonetheless. The only consequence was that it sent your stress levels flying through the roof.

Speaking of stress, you were trudging your way up the dorm stairs bickering with Bakugou over his stupid actions.

"You got me fired!" You shouted. You really hoped no one was in the stairwell otherwise you'd sound crazy.

"She was bitching about her drink not being sweet enough when you poured half the bag of sugar down it!" The demon remarked.

"You called her a cross-eyed, snaggle-toothed cunt!"

"Well she was!"

"Bakugou!" You huffed in frustration as you came upon the door to your room. It flung open on its own and shut behind you as you entered. "You've gotten me fired from 3 other jobs! You can't be doing that!"

"What's wrong, girl?" Mina asked, whirling around from her desk. You plopped onto your bed and rested your jaw on your palms. "Bakugou?"

"Who else?"

Just then your pillow smacked you on the back of the head. You glared at it. "Shut up."

"Hey so I've been doing some research and I think I've found-"

"No, Mina, please, not another one of your internet rituals," You groaned.

"I said I'd help you get rid of this thing so that's what I'm doing!" She pouted. "Besides this is my fault anyway."

"Yes, but all your research is theoretical. It may not work, or it might make things worse."

"But listen! I remember you told me you felt weak every so often when he's around and I found out that it's because he's extracting your life energy and coming back for more whenever it resupplies," Mina explained enthusiastically. "Some sites say that if it doesn't allow for recovery time you could die."

You sighed and rubbed your tired eyes. "I could have told you that. I know I've been sustaining him these past few months. What I don't understand is why he hasn't killed me yet."

"Why would a crackhead cut off his supply?" Bakugou scoffed.

"Thanks, asshole."

"Fine, I'll investigate more," Mina huffed sadly. "Come on, class starts in 15 minutes."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You and the pinkette settled into your assigned seating and were already drifting off into space. Your head was stuck in the big puffy clouds outside when someone's arrival reverberated throughout the classroom. You glanced over unamused and did a double take when you saw a pair of heterochromatic eyes scan over the students.
The handsome male strode up to the professor and handed her a slip. She quickly skimmed it and lowered her glasses to the bridge of her nose. "Hmm, alright then.... Class meet Shouto Todoroki. He'll be joining us as of today." The dark haired woman squinted into the crowd. "Todoroki, why don't you take a seat next to Miss (l/n)."
Your gaze met his. You were suddenly conscious of yourself as he took the stool next to you. You glanced away from his direction and saw Mina from the other side mouthing things.
'He's hot!'
'STOP.' You replied, wide eyed.
"Now class we'll be doing lab assignments in the next few days which mean you guys will be preparing for them with these handouts I'm about to pass out," Miss Midnight announced, stalking around the room. "And since it was hell trying to grade a class of 30 we'll be pairing up. However, last time I gave you the option of picking a partner you all did poorly so this time I will be choosing."
Everyone was less than stellar about the prospect, but of course no one was going to argue. "Your partners will be the person next to you. And this time don't beat around the bush and actually turn in something comprehensible."
You immediately turned to the new guy, realizing what this meant. Several girls in the class peered at you angrily. You were partners with the hot guy in class. You only hoped he wasn't all looks.
"Todoroki," He introduced himself with a handshake.
"(l/n)."
"I'm a late transfer but I'm pretty sure I know what you guys are learning," He said, inspecting the worksheets. Thank god.
You nodded. "Looks like we need to learn how to set up the equipment. I'll grab it from the cabinet."
"Everyone grab your tools one group at a time. We don't want anyone injuring themselves," Professor Midnight warned.
Todoroki glanced back at you. "Would you like some help?"
"Uh, sure, I mean you may want to know where everything is too so..." You chuckled nervously. Jeez, what was wrong with you? Maybe it was the way he was looking at you so earnestly.
You shook those thoughts out of your head. He was your classmate for crying out loud! And he was new! Just treat like you would anyone else.
"What's wrong with you?" A familiar voice sounded within you.
"Bakugou? What are you doing here?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"So what are we going to need?" Todoroki asked.
You ignored the demon for now (much to his annoyance) and skimmed your list. "Um, let's see a Bunsen burner, 6 test tubes, 2 pipettes, 3 beakers, and a graduated cylinder."
"And materials?"
"We won't need those today. It says we just have to learn the procedures and how to work the Bunsen."
He hummed. "Sounds simple enough."
"Who's this guy, glowstick?" Bakugou resonated in your ears. You muttered irritably and scratched your ear to let him know to fuck off.
"So where would those items be?" Todoroki questioned, searching along the tall shelves of the tiny closet.
"Test tubes are down there. We need six," You informed as you snagged the graduated cylinder. You were grabbing a couple pipettes as well when Bakugou chimed in again. "Don't brush me off, brat. I'm talking to you."
"I'm busy right now, ass-face."
"Who is this guy? I've never seen him before."
This made you frown. "Why do you care?"
"'Cause I can feel your heart beating faster than it normally does."
"You can tell that??" You almost mumbled aloud. "Well he's new to the class and I'm helping get settled-"
"See!? There you go again!"
"What?" You shouted in surprise. Todoroki snapped up with a jolt. "What? What's wrong?"
"Sorry! I thought there weren't any Bunsen burners but I see them," You giggled shyly but internally you wanted to perish on the spot. "Bakugou! Don't scare me like that!"
"Whenever you're talking about him your pulse starts pounding harder," Bakugou replied snidely. "The fuck is up with you?"
"I don't know...he's pretty cute so I guess it's normal for me to-Wait a minute, who cares!? You don't need to know that!" Your face was flush with the heat of your embarrassment.
There was a short silence before the demon responded. "You like this guy?"
"I-no, I just met him!" You huffed with a pout. "Now will you pass me the Bunsen? It's on top."
Another pause went by but he finally knocked the burner from the high shelf. You extended a hand to try and catch it but you realized too late that it was falling too fast for you to even attempt. Bakugou's breath caught as he scrambled to stop it. You mentally prepared yourself for the harsh impact on your face, but before it could land you felt a pair of arms yank you out of the way.
It crashed onto the floor with an ear-piercing shatter at your feet. Your chest was beating erratically at your eyes almost being gauged out, but other than that you were fine.
You breathed out a sigh of relief. That's when you noticed that the grip from earlier hadn't ceased. It was holding you closely against a hard surface.
"Bakugou...?" You tried and looked up. A small gasp escaped your lips as you stared at the brown and blue eyes gazing back at you. Your eyes widened. It wasn't the demon who had rescued you...
A flurry of warmth rushed to your cheeks. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" You yelped, pulling away. You were surprise to see a hint of pink dusting Todoroki's cheeks. "It's fine. Are you alright?"
"I'm good, don't worry about me!"
"What was that noise!?" Professor Midnight stormed into the closet only to find you, Todoroki, and a broken Bunsen burner in between you two. She let out sigh and shook her head. "Jesus...you two get out of there. I'm gonna call someone to clean this up."
As you two returned to your seats, you called to Bakugou. "One more second and I would have gone out final destination style." You waited for him to retort with some witty remark but he didn't speak. You frowned; you knew he was there you could sense his presence. "Bakugou?"
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, why?"
"You're...awfully quiet," You shrugged. "I thought you'd be nicer to me considering you almost got me killed just now."
"That wasn't on purpose, dumbass! I...I have to go." He sounded off. You had never heard him so conflicted in your entire time together. But before you could ask him anything he had vanished leaving you with an odd feeling of...worry? God, that was insane to think about.
Class came to a close and you exchanged details with Todoroki. As you two were finishing up, Mina came swinging by. "Hey, you! And, er, you!" She laughed, gesturing to you both. "So you're the new guy?"
"It would seem so."
"You got lucky then. You couldn't have been partnered up with a smarter person! (y/n) here has over a 90 in the class."
"She likes to exaggerate," You chuckled softy. Although she was right you didn't want to show off.
"I'm Ashido Mina! But you can call me Mina. And you've met my (y/n)!" She grinned from ear to ear. He smiled and nodded. "Say listen, a mutual friend of ours is having a party at her mansion this weekend. You should definitely come! (y/n) and I will be there and it'll give you chance to get to know some of the people around here!"
You stared at her perplexed but were even more surprised by Todoroki's pondering expression. "Hmm...if (l/n) there I don't see why not. I feel like I get along with you pretty well and all considering I'm new here."
"Really?" You questioned. "You want to come?"
"Sure."
"Great! I'll have my girl here send you the details!" Mina winked and pulled you away with her. "We'll see you later!" You waved timidly to him as he smiled and did the same.
Once you two were at a distance you turned on her. "Mina! What the hell are you thinking?"
"He is a hottie, (y/n). Hottie with a capital H. You needed to invite him."
"I didn't even know there was a party!"
"I forgot to tell you!" Mina gave you puppy dog eyes. "Momo invited us but I've been so busy researching I forgot to mention it!"
You exhaled and crossed your arms. "I've gotta go. I've got math with Aizawa. I'll see you later."
Mina let out a deep sigh as she watched you leave. She spun in her own direction but stopped in her tracks when she spotted a familiar woman clicking her way down the hall. She was a short lady who looked young enough to be a student but old enough to be a teacher. Everyone referred to her as Miss Wiki since she knew just about everything. And it wasn't an overstatement. This lady was never wrong about anything. You could ask her the most out of the box question and she would have an answer for you.
This sparked a light bulb in the pinkette's mind. "Miss Miyumi!"
The black haired woman smiled cheerfully and strode over. "Mina! How are you?"
"I'm good...I just had a quick question."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bakugou stumbled into his throne room in a daze. He felt like his body was there but his essence wasn't present. He had never felt so angry and desolate all at the same time. And that was saying something coming from a demon.

He slumped against his ornate chair and laid a hand over his eyes. What was wrong with him?

"Ah, you're back," A voice echoed through the great hall. Bakugou peeked out to see Tokoyami walking up. "We were afraid we'd have to deal with this ourselves."

"Deal with what?"

"The demon Dabi has begun moving in on our circle of hell. We were unsure on what measures to take."

"That motherfucker is still at it? Well fight back obviously. We wouldn't be the Violent circle if we were to defend," Bakugou scoffed.

"Will you be joining the battle?" The crow demon inquired.

"No, this isn't a fight that requires my assistance. Dabi is no threat to me."

Tokoyami grumbled disapprovingly but he wasn't silent enough to sneak it past Bakugou. "What is it?" The blond challenged.

"You've been spending a lot of time in upper world."

"And?"

"The other demons are restless trying to figure out why. You could lose your followers if they were to find out that you've been visiting the upper world for a mortal," Tokoyami warned.

Bakugou glared ferociously. "Am I not allowed to feed now?"

"Oh you know that it doesn't take much for a demon to sustain themselves," The crow countered. "You've lost focus and you know it."

The Demon King rose from his chair; black flames engulfed his being as he neared the crow. "Need I remind you that I fought tooth and nail for my position in hell? I fought alongside thousands of demons, including yourself, to overthrow that pathetic excuse they had for a king."

Bakugou stalked forward, snarling with fury. "I tore demons limb from limb, ripped apart muscle from bone all in pursuit for a less shittier hell!"

"So whenever I decide to rest my sword I damn well fucking deserve it!"

Tokoyami sighed, closing his eyes. "Very well. I will let the others know."

He began to walk away but halted once he reached the entryway. "I just thought our 'king' would never sit back and let others win his battles."

Bakugou simmered with rage as the crow demon left him alone. He growled violently and paced over to a window overlooking the hellscape below. His pride told him he was being reasonable but his head knew deep down that there was a part of him that was wrong. He had grown soft. Today was proof of that.

Never in his thousand year lifespan had he reacted the way he did today. He was furious by the scene that had played out between you and that half-and-half bastard yet he couldn't bring himself to attack.

He punched the wall in anger, crumbling the stone. He felt like a stupid teenager.

But in the same token in all his years as a demon he had never quite me someone as odd as you. What really reeled him in was the strength of your soul. A soul like yours was ambrosia to a demon. It just happened to turn out that you were interesting as well.

The way you laughed over the dumbest jokes or snarked back at him even though he could kill you in a second. You were fearless, brave, honest, creative, kind. You practically qualified for angel status.

He shook his head. The image of your contagious smile tugged at the corners of his lips. This was wrong and it needed to stop.

The hole in his chest suddenly ached with a pain he had never experienced. Bakugou hissed uncomfortably and crossed his arms over himself, ignoring the feeling.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You hummed to yourself as you scribbled down notes onto a paper in your dorm room. Mina had gone out with Jirou for drinks. She had invited you but you decided to stay home and catch up on your homework.
You let out a sigh as you thought back to this afternoon. Bakugou was rarely ever quiet. He never missed the opportunity to tease you or make fun of you yet today he acted completely unlike that. You were thinking about how weird it was that you hadn't heard from him in a while when he suddenly showed up.
"Hey."
"Bakugou! Strange timing, I was just thinking it was a little too empty in here," You chuckled. He didn't laugh however and continued. "You got a second?"
Your brows furrowed. "Sure, but what's going on? You're acting all serious and it's a bit weird coming from you."
"Do you trust me?"
The questioned stumped you. A demon living inside your body was asking you if you trusted it. Any other normal person would be wise and say no and yet....you couldn't. Bakugou had never given you a reason to distrust him in the past but to admit that would be crazy. However, you had to come to terms that crazy was often the truth.
"Yes..."
"Okay, I need you to go to the window..." You raised a brow but did as he said. "And jump."
"What!?"
"Just trust me," He urged.
"Are you trying to kill me?" You exclaimed. "Bakugou, I'm on the 4th story of the building."
"I know, idiot, just listen," the demon huffed. "I'm going to show you something."
"What? How nice my head looks splattered on the pavement?"
"(Y/n)!"
"Alright, alright! Fine!" You shook your head as you unlatched the window and lifted the glass up. With just a glance below you could feel your stomach churning uneasily. "Damn it, Bakugou, what is this?"
"Just let go and this will all make sense."
You swallowed nervously as you dangled your legs over the sill and stared down at the small figures walking by. You trusted Bakugou but he had never asked you to do something like this. You prayed that whatever insanity he was pulling you into it wouldn't be too outrageous.
Your breath was hot and trembling against the icy wind. "You better catch me, Bakubutt."
You slid off the ledge and immediately felt your heart jump out of your chest. The terrible sensation of gravity lasted a mere few seconds before some invisible force picked you out of the sky. You sighed in relief as the strange magic levitated you upwards past the few other floors of dorms.
You felt like you were floating on a cloud, a slow ascending cloud that eventually stopped on the roof of the building. From the shadows and hand came out and pulled you back onto solid footing.
"Always," a distinct gruff voice said.
Your eyes adjusted to the darkness and you recognized the head of ashe blond hair and those sharp, crimson eyes. "Bakugou?"
You had only ever seen him as a demonic reflection in your mirror. His large horns bursting with black-orange flames and the long claws he used as hands. But before you stood a version of Bakugou you had never seen, a human version.
His horns were gone, his ash covered muscles hidden by a black dress shirt and black slacks. He had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows revealing his tan skin which was marred with old scars.
You were in awe by how handsome he was. Not that you couldn't tell before but seeing him dressed up and appearing less animalistic did give him some charm.
"Hi," You replied in shock. You realized that this was your first time actually meeting him in the flesh. "How...are you here?"
"I'm a demon, (y/n), not a ghost," Bakugou rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I can see that." You chuckled in disbelief. "I never expected to see you...like this. Why...?"
"I have something to tell you," He said, not meeting your eyes. "Why don't you take a seat?"
You nodded and accepted his help in sitting carefully on the side of the roof. He kept you close to him, your thigh touching his in case you were to fall.
Once settled you turned to him. "So what's going on?"
Bakugou appeared pensive. His eyebrows were knitted, deep in thought, and they way he clutched ledge made him seem unsure. "I...I think you may get your wish," He laughed humorlessly. "I'm finally leaving you be."
Your throat felt tight as you pressed him on. "What? What do you mean?"
"My time inhabiting your body has come to a close. I don't need to stick around here anymore," He answered. "I'm leaving."
For some reason you felt like you had been punched in the chest. You stared at him completely lost. "Are you...are you serious?"
Bakugou chortled. "I thought you'd be happy."
"I'm...confused, that's for sure," You frowned. "I feel like an idiot looking a gift horse in the mouth, but why? What happened?"
"Just moving on, I suppose," The demon shrugged. "I'm needed elsewhere and I guess in the same token I don't need your soul anymore."
Your heart felt heavy, but you knew you had no reason for it to be. So instead you pushed down all those conflicting feelings and forced a warm smile on your face. "It feels like you're breaking up with me."
Bakugou scoffed. "Don't get too cocky now."
You rolled your eyes and glanced at your feet. "So, is this your way of saying goodbye?"
The blond shrugged. "In a way."
You nodded with a hum. The crisp fall air gently blew your hair in the breeze. "Send me a postcard from wherever you're at then I guess," You grinned, but the playfulness didn't meet your eyes.
Bakugou exhaled heavily and turned to look at you. "Listen, there's something I want you to know."
"Yes?"
"My name isn't actually Bakugou," He huffed a laugh. "I never told you my real name because it's not something you want to go spouting around."
"Now this I don't believe," You gasped with a smirk. "Is it 'cause your real name is something embarrassing like Fitzwilliam?"
The demon glared at you. "Listen you little shit, this is important. My real name is Katsuki. That's the last thing I'll ever tell you in case your dumbass ever does something stupid. You'll be begging me to come back I can already tell."
You should have been annoyed at him but the name rung in your head like bell. "Katsuki," You repeated simply. The blond stared at your lips and the way they formed his name. "You have a pretty cute name."
"It's not supposed to be cute." Katsuki flicked your forehead.
"So what that's it? You're just gonna reveal you lied to me and be on your merry way?"
"Well, there is one more thing..." He trailed off.
"That is?"
"You want to give me one last energy booster before I go?" The demon smiled slyly. "It will be the last time in a long time."
You twisted your lips into an unamused look but you're flat eyes couldn't get through to Katsuki. His red irises bore into yours until you finally gave in. "Fine! Since it's the last time, you little asshole."
Katsuki grinned, exposing his sharp canines. He took your wrists in his hands and sunk his fangs into your flesh. You flinched in pain as you slowly felt your energy being drained.
The blond wasn't lying before when he mentioned that your type of soul was a delicacy for a demon. In normal circumstances he would siphon every last drop of the human's essence and be fed for months. A part of him hated how fragile he had become. He was going to starve himself to let you live. He was going to let a human live.
His anger rumbled in his chest as he growled and bit down harder causing you to wince. Maybe if he just ended it all now he wouldn't be so soft. He'd go back to being the feared king of hell and you would drop dead and be out of his life forever. Katsuki felt your life force streaming in your veins, running fast to the hungry mouth which beckoned it.
You let out a shivered breath as you grew weaker by the minute. Did it normally take this long? And were you always this tired by the end of drainage session? You never experienced Katsuki physically consuming your vitality but something told you that it wasn't supposed to feel like this.
"Katsuki?" You groaned, torso swaying. "I think that's enough." But the demon didn't let go.
You furrowed your brows and attempted to shove him off, but you could barely even grasp him. "Katsuki, stop." Your skin was starting to feel cold and your breath was turning frosty white in the night air. "Katsuki..."
You choked as the air became too thin for you to inhale. Your mouth formed words but your voice produced no sound as the world around you was covered in pulsing black spots.
Katsuki watched as the life was draining from your body. You couldn't even sit upright anymore. Your head had fallen onto his shoulder as your once vibrant (e/c) eyes turned blank white.
His hunger was ravenous as it feasted on the remaining essence of your soul, but something within Katsuki made him pause. The dull white color in your pupils and the dropping temperature of your warmth sent a sharp sting through him that forced him to pull away. He grunted roughly as he tried to calm down his instincts. He couldn't do it. He didn't even want to imagine what end would lie for you if he had continued.
"(y/n)," Katsuki called out, shaking you. But you lay limp in his arms. His heart dropped fearfully. "(y/n)!"
Panic coursed through him like a current. He shook you roughly, whispering your name under his breath when suddenly your half lidded eyes opened. "Katsu..ki?" You slurred in exhaustion.
"Jesus Christ," He gasped with relief, hugging you close to him.
"Katsuki...dnt do that agin..." You murmured.
The demon picked you up carefully, muttering apologies. "Fuck, I'm sorry. Shit, shit, shit! I'm so sorry. I didn't want to-" He could have continued his rambling but you had already passed out. Regret burned deep into his core as he scaled down the building to where your dorm was.
Katsuki set you down gently in bed. Luckily, no one had arrived yet so your room was completely deserted of on-lookers.
The blond sat beside you on the bed, watching your weak frame breathing laboriously. Perhaps it was best if he left. He was only a danger to you. You two lived in separate worlds, it was only a matter of time before one of you had to go.
He hissed softly and pushed a strand of hair away from your face. "You could be the death of me, glow stick. Jesus, how the hell did I end up here? You're just a human, and...."
He sighed, his heart bearing an enormous weight as he laid his forehead on yours. "But I promise. Whenever you need me I'll be there. Just say the word." Katsuki's brows furrowed profoundly and he pressed his lips to your skin. "Always."
