Side Story #1: I Wish You Love
You shivered as you walked up the stairs into the dormitories. You didn't realize it had gotten so cold.
As soon as you found your room you quickly started getting ready for the party. You had gone out shopping previously with Mina and some of the other girls and bought a dress you all agreed was perfect for the event. It was a simple black, long sleeve with scoop neckline that stopped just above your knees. From the waist down it hung over you for maximum loose comfort. Scattered along the bottom trim were golden snowflake designs that matched the crimson ombré beneath it and around your torso a red satin sash. To finish it off, you tied on a black choker with a rose pendant and put on some light makeup.
In the midst of your process, your eyes wandered over to the little black box wrapped in scarlet ribbon on your bedside. You hoped he would like the gift, even if it seemed he didn't enjoy today.
You had just slipped on some black tights and short boots when a massive migraine came rushing to your head. It felt like it was drilling into your skull with the pain you experienced.
You groaned, getting slightly dizzy. Maybe you just needed to wait it out.
With an ungraceful tumble, you fell to your bed. A heavy exhaustion washed over you as you laid your head to the pillow.
It was still early, maybe you could rest for a couple minutes...

Bakugou grunted loudly as he landed hit after hit on the poor beat up punching bag. What was his problem? Yes, he hated Christmas that was a given. But why was he so angry about it this year?
Everything was the same. The same stupid decorations, the same annoying ads, and the same bland tree. What was so infuriating for him now?
His thoughts then fell on you. You were so excited to be planning something for the holiday. You had the entire damn school going to this thing. And for what? Just to waste time? It seemed so illogical to him.
But to you...that wasn't the case.
Despite his fury not being even halfway released, Bakugou decided to quit. He used the gym showers and threw a towel over his shoulder as he headed back to the dorms. It was a while ago since he had spoken to you so he imagined the party was already taking place.
Sure enough, everyone was there. "All I Want For Christmas" was blaring out of speakers as he walked in.
"Bakugou! You made it!" Kirishima greeted once he spotted his friend. Mina was also there.
"Where were you? The party started hours ago!"
"Move it, idiots, I'm tired," The blonde growled, pushing past them.
"Whaaat? You're leaving?"
He was busy ignoring them when Sero came up. "Hey, has anyone seen (l/n)?"
"Oh hey, Bakugou! What's up? You finally showed!" The dark haired male grinned. "If you're looking to go to your dorm you're gonna have a hard time. Aizawa is keeping everyone downstairs."
Bakugou furrowed his eyebrows. "Wait, what the fuck?"
"Yeah, something about not wanting kids sneaking off together."
"That's not what I meant, droopy eyes! What do you mean you don't know where (l/n) is? Didn't she organize this whole shitshow?" Bakugou glared.
"No one's seen her," Mina shrugged. "Even Todoroki couldn't find her."
"Yeah we thought she might have gone out to do something for the party, but she still hasn't come," Kirishima added.
"That fuckin' glowstick..." Bakugou scoffed. "And you idiots don't even bother to look around?"
"I'm sure she's fine! This party was her idea so I doubt she'd miss it," Sero said.
The temperamental teen glanced over to the dormitory stairwell and saw a bored Aizawa standing guard at the bottom. There was no way he was going to be able to go up there.
"Goddamn it," Bakugou cursed under his breath and left the boisterous building despite his friends persuading to stay.
It was a cold winter night, especially with his recent shower freezing his skin. Perhaps it would have been smarter if he had brought a pullover with that black tank and grey sweatpants.
In any case, he decided he'd go searching for you in the most obvious place first before exploring the other parts of the school grounds. That place would be your dorm.
Bakugou was sure Aizawa would turn him away no matter what he said, so instead hassling with the old hero he opted for finding another way in. Every dorm had a large window that gave them a view of the rest academy; if he could just find the right one, he would be able to climb in and check it.
He recalled your room being right next to Round Cheeks which was on the top floor. He couldn't believe the hoops he was jumping to make sure you were okay. Since when did he get so soft?
That thought was quickly brushed away however as he began estimating the trajectory of the leap he was about to undertake. The blinds at your window were shut giving no indication of life inside, but he was still determined to see for himself.
With that, Bakugou rubbed his palms together generating as much sweat as he could in this frigid air and let the explosives in his hands go off. He was immediately sent flying upwards at an alarming speed. He was able to catch himself on the ledge just as the energy from his lift began to wane.
To his surprise (and many thanks), your window was open. He pulled himself up by his elbows and swiftly nudged the glass to let himself in.
Just as before, your room was completely dark. The moonlight from outside pooled in illuminating the furniture closest to the window. Bakugou then realized this was the first time he had ever been in there. The school's strict policy about separate dorms had made sure to keep everyone away from each other.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he noted that most of the things in your room were the same as when he had stayed with you at your house that one time. The dorm was definitely bigger than your old place though.
Carefully, Bakugou stepped further into the room looking for anything that could clue him in on where you might have gone. But just as he was searching, he saw a figure lying on the bed. They were motionless, eyes closed; they looked almost peaceful with the dim moonlight casting against their skin.
That's when he noticed the faint glimmer of stars trailing across their cheeks.
"(l/n)?" Bakugou neared the bed. You were sound asleep in something fancier than anything he had ever seen you in. Even so, your features seemed to glow, accentuating the outfit and your natural looks. Like that princess that's supposed to sleep a lot in the fairy tales, he thought to himself.
He might have been more inclined to admire if he didn't notice your labored breathing. Bakugou frowned and sat down on the bed next to you. "Fuck, you're burning up," He muttered once he placed a hand to your forehead.
"Baku...gou...?" He heard you murmur, your eyes slightly parting open.
"Yeah, it's me," He replied softly. "You got sick, you idiot. Why not worry about yourself instead of throwing something together for these losers?"
"I wasn't paying attention..." You sighed, clearly exhausted. "I'm just so cold...and tired."
Bakugou shook his head. "Stay here and rest, glow stick. I'll find you something."
"But the party—"
"Forget about the party! You look like you're about to pass out!" Bakugou scolded firmly. He tried masking his worry, but his tone wasn't as steady as it usually was.
He glanced back at you once more with concern before hopping out the window.
After getting down, he went inside the building to find anything that could help with your illness. However, he ran into his friends prior to getting the chance to.
"Bakugou! Where'd you go, man?" Kirishima grinned.
Kaminari frowned when he saw him. "Aren't you cold in that?"
"I don't have time for this. I need some stuff," Bakugou said, annoyed. "Food, water, a towel, some fuckin' medicine if there's any."
"What's with Bakugou and why's he prattling off a shopping list?" Mina questioned as she came near.
"We're not sure," Sero shrugged. "Hey, did you ever find (l/n)?"
Just then, Aizawa walked up to the five of them. "What's going on here?" He peered over at the ashy blonde. "Some of the students were saying you weren't going to attend."
"As a matter a fact, one of the people who was sure to show was (l/n). Any idea where she might be, Bakugou?" It was almost as if Aizawa was accusing him of something.
After the teen took several seconds to respond, Mina quickly stepped in. "A-actually! Bakugou was just telling us that he was going to come to the party, but would arrive late! You see, he was...uh..."
"Working out," Bakugou caught on. "I wanted to work out before I joined the rest."
Aizawa still didn't seem convinced, so Kirishima and Kaminari jumped in. "We brought you that sweater you wanted to wear by the way! Uh, here!" Kaminari tossed him some green clothing that was lying on the couch. When the blonde opened it up he found 'Sleigh trick or you get eliminated' printed on the front and back with hideous Christmas-y designs surrounding it.
Bakugou was going to kill them when he got the chance. "Thanks, guys," He said through his forced a smile. He could tell they were having the time of their lives. With no other options though, he threw on the ugly sweater.
Aizawa was still skeptical, but couldn't find anything else to chew them out on. "Hmm...well you five enjoy yourselves." And with that, he left without another word.
"So what the hell's going on, Bakugou?" Sero finally asked.
"Just cover for me, will you?"
Kirishima rolled his eyes. "Alright, alright, we got you."
"You lookin' fresh there though, Bakugou!" Kaminari snickered like crazy.
"Shut the fuck up, dunce face."
"Good luck, Bakugou! Take care of our girl!" Mina beamed. But after seeing Bakugou's questioning squint, she giggled happily. "Oh we know it has to be (l/n)! You wouldn't wear that ugly ass Christmas sweater if it wasn't for her."
The blonde would have been livid at the notion if it wasn't fucking true. "Shut up, pinky," Bakugou scoffed and left to go get the items he needed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your skin felt like it was on fire and yet the cold night air that drafted into the room did nothing but freeze your limbs. You wanted to get under the covers and sleep away the pulsating pain, but you were so faint it was hard to do so.
Where had Bakugou gone? Come to think of it, where did Bakugou come from? You didn't hear the door open and he just suddenly appeared in front of you.
Your head turned in the direction of the window. It was open. Maybe he had climbed up?
You forced your body to move as you pushed your feet off the bed and onto the floor. You stumbled with the first couple steps but slowly you managed to make your way towards the window.
It was a clear cloudless night. The freezing temperature nipped at your nose and turned your fingers to ice, however you had to admit it was still a beautiful sight. You glanced down, looking for the angry teen that had disappeared on you, but as soon as you did your vision shifted. Your head felt light, like the world could spin at any moment. Panic flooded through you as your body dipped forward where the solid ground awaited you below.
You were regretting everything in your life in that instant when something hard pushed you onto your back. The wind was knocked out of you as the heavy object remained on top of you.
"Ow."
"Jesus fucking Christ (l/n)!! I can't leave you alone for a goddamn second 'cause you're already jumping out of buildings!" A familiar ill-tempered voice yelled. Your eyes fell on a pair of scowling red ones.
"Hi."
"What the fuck were you doing!?"
"I was looking for you," You replied earning an exasperated breath from Bakugou. He sat up. "I told you to sit tight."
"I'm okay, I'm okay. I just need to lay down for a little, that's all," You said, picking yourself up and leaned onto the side of your bed.
Bakugou rested the backside of his hand to your forehead. "Your fever is still going strong. You're in no condition to move." He stood and closed the window and curtains. After finding the light switch, he knelt over to check on you again. "Drink up," He ordered, giving you a water bottle.
The cool drink was a bitter remedy to your indecisive fever. One second your skin was ablaze, the other you felt your blood had stopped because you were colder than a freezer.
"I found some cold medicine in the cabinets downstairs. You also need to eat something light so you're not completely malnutritioned," Bakugou said next as he handed you some pills and a cupcake that's frosting resembled a snowman.
He frowned when you didn't immediately react. His palm came down and cupped your burning cheek. "You okay?"
"I'm sorry," You hummed softly. "I'm sorry you're stuck here with me...and on Christmas no less."
"I know you hate the holiday and the fact that I planned that party downstairs... and yet here you are." You glanced up at him confused. "Why? Don't you hate me right now?"
Bakugou stared at you, surprise evident on his features. He looked away with a shake of his head. "I don't hate you, idiot. Yeah, I don't fuckin' care for Christmas, but it's not something I'd let get to me. It's a dumb holiday about giving shitty presents and overstuffing yourself, but what can I do about it?"
"Besides," He said once he stood up, his expression shielded from your gaze. "If celebrating Christmas makes you happy, do it. You should do the things you enjoy; it doesn't matter how I feel." You weren't sure if it was the fever, but your chest felt warm.
The blonde then scooped you up, one arm under your knees the other around your back, and sat you down on the bed. He pulled the covers over you and again instructed you to take the medicine.
"If you need me, I'll be here," Bakugou sighed, sitting on a chair across from your bed. "It's not like I have anything better to do."
"You can sit beside me if you'd like," You offered, cuddling into the blanket. "You look uncomfortable."
"Oh, and Bakugou?"
"Yes?"
"I thought you said you hated Christmas."
"I do, and?"
"Why are you wearing that then?" You questioned. He glanced down at his attire and realized he was still wearing the hideous green sweater.
"That fuckin' piece of shit!" Bakugou cursed, remember what that fucking Pikachu did. He rapidly pulled off the sweater and threw it at you. "Shut up! It's not mine!"
You giggled to yourself. "Whatever, you say Baku-boi."
The male then clambered into the bed next to you grumpily. "Not another word, fuckin' night light," Bakugou warned.
Just then, you remembered something. "Hey, Bakugou, what's your take on giving presents?"
He shrugged. "I guess if someone deserves it good for them?"
"I'm glad you think that," You smiled. You reached over to your bedside counter and grabbed the small black box. You then flipped over to face Bakugou. "I didn't know what you would do if I gave this to you, but I want you to have it since you've practically become my best friend."
"I really appreciate everything you've done for me and hopefully we'll get to spend another year together," You said joyfully as a new found energy gave you confidence. You pressed the black box in his hand and squeezed it. "Don't open it till midnight when you're supposed to."
"Damn it, (l/n), why'd you do this? I didn't get you shit," Bakugou said, a bit flustered. "And what do you mean hopefully? Of course we're going to UA for another year."
"You never know," You shrugged at the possibilities. "You don't need to get me anything. Christmas can be about presents but that's not to say that's all it is. It's giving to those you care about in ways that show you love them dearly."
"Thank you for your friendship and care, Bakugou. It really means a lot to me." You hugged his arm to show your affection, but the warmth he was giving off was so inviting. Your fever rose slightly as you cuddled into him. "Can I stay here for a bit?" You murmured, fatigue settling in.
"Do whatever you want," He muttered back.
You sighed, a smile spreading across your content features. "Merry Christmas, Bakugou."
Despite everything he had ever believed in, his next words came so easy to him. "Merry Christmas, (l/n)."
Before Bakugou knew it, you were fast asleep. Your earlier pained face was gone and was replaced with a light, serene expression. Peace radiated off of you.
Bakugou took this opportunity to let his impatient curiosity take over and tug at the red ribbon which locked the black box. It came easily undone, letting the blonde open the lid and reveal the secret inside.
What he found was a black band with a thick silver chain around it. On the chain were kanji lettering for a familiar title he knew very well of. It read as 'King Explosion Murder' across the bracelet.
A genuine smile crept up on the teen's face. It was actually a pretty cool gift. He would never admit how much he loved it though. He sneakily slipped it onto his wrist careful as to not alert you.
His chest felt tied and conflicted as he gazed upon your calm figure. Bakugou had heard it said before but perhaps it was true. Maybe you were too good for him. He sighed to himself and pulled you closer to his chest when he noticed you were shivering fervently.
Bakugou felt his eye lids get heavier as he pressed his cheek to the top of your head. Slowly but surely, he was lulled into the most pleasant sleep he had ever gotten with you in his arms.
Sorry this has come up a little later but hopefully you enjoyed it all the same :) Happy Holidays to everyone and Happy New Year! 2019 better have some good things, damn it.
