One Way
You couldn't believe what you were seeing. The trembling wouldn't stop the more you watched the figure and the way their lips ripped apart at the corners into a threatening smile. The street light above you felt like your only salvation against this twisted anomaly in the shadows.
But the most frightening thing about them wasn't their creepy, sunken eyes nor their gaunt, marred face. It wasn't their frail, emaciated body nor the knife they repeatedly ran across their skin and plunged into themselves with delight.
It was the shade of (h/c) that adorned their head. It was the familiar shape of their face, the (e/c) eyes that reflected back at you. Even their form, though thin, curved and shaped them in a very reminiscent manner. All their features, all their characteristics were so terrifying to you....because they mirrored your own.
It was you.... a mutilated, rotting corpse of you.
The creature began moving forward making your heart leap into your throat. You instinctively stepped back, but the shock coursing through your body made you buckle and hit the ground. Without warning, your shriek echoed in the deserted street.
You were at a loss for words. Your mind was blank and yet you had a million questions running through your head. Having no time to process any of it though, your body jolted you into fight or flight.
You crawled away from the thing and willed your trembling legs to stand. The creature stared at you with amusement as it watched your eyes flicker for an escape.
You made the quick decision of running away from your home as a precaution and cast small glances every which way to throw the being off. With your remaining courage, you darted down the street as fast as your legs would allow you.
A cold sweat broke out on your skin as the sound of their footsteps hit the pavement behind you. Fear clutched your heart in a death grip while you tried to think of some way to lose it. You winded down several streets and alleyways but you could still hear the coughing and wheezing at your back. Your own breath was becoming ragged the longer you kept up your declining stride.
You would eventually tire if you didn't find help. You thought about running towards a crowd like a store but it was already so late everything was closed or in the process of doing so. Panicking, you turned into an alley and again reviewed your options. Just as you were thinking about your phone, you came upon a tall barbed fence.
Doubting you could make it to the other side safely, you glanced back to see where the creature was. It was just turning the corner when you clambered behind the side of dumpster to hide.
Your swelling lungs made it hard for you to mask your breathing, but you pressed a tight hand over your mouth and pleaded it wouldn't find you. A cold terror ran down your skin as your other hand reached for the phone in your pocket. With trembling fingers, you dialed the only person you could think of.
You prayed that your doppelganger wouldn't hear the soft buzz of the ring before the recognizable voice of Bakugou answered. "Hello?"
"Bakugou?" You wanted to keep quiet but your shaking voice betrayed you. "Oh my god, please help me..." You cried through broken breaths. The weight of the fearful suspense finally settled into your bones. "I have no one else to turn to...."

"I have no one else to turn to...."
Bakugou was frozen. His heart beat sporadically but his limbs weren't responding. The hand holding the phone up went rigid in his grasp. "Where are you?" He said immediately. His own directness in this situation even took him by surprise.
"I don't know... I don't know..." You mumbled, distraught. "Please help me..."
The teen glanced at the screen and found the marker flashing your location. "Stay right where you are. I'm coming to you," He commanded firmly, grabbing any short hand necessities near him.
"I don't have any more time," You sniffled in whispers. "I—"

Bakugou's eyes widened. "(l/n)? (l/n)! Damn it!!" He threw his arm by his side violently. His phone read the lost connection and the last location your phone was made reachable.
Wasting no time, the panicking blond sprinted out of his room and to the front of the house. He ignored his mother's griping shrieks and slammed the door on his way out. Bakugou could care less about what his mother would do to him when he got back. The only thought on his mind was getting to you.
He only wished that he would get there before anything happened.
His feet were pounding against the pavement. Explosions sounded off as he used his quirk to speed himself along. Your final location was a few streets away from where you lived but his home was a lot farther than that. He needed to expend a lot more energy if he wanted to get there in time.
His arms were cramping and burning sorely, but Bakugou managed to arrive near the site in around 9 minutes. An astounding feat considering it usually took him 40 minutes to get back to his house and that was by train. His chest would not stop throbbing as he searched the perimeter for you.
"(l/n)!!!" Bakugou yelled your name.
Silence replied back. The desolate streets mocked him as he continued to call out to you. His psyche delving to dark places the more minutes passed by without a hint to where you were. "(l/n)!!!!" Bakugou screamed again.
He didn't want to believe it but....
Was he too late?

Your eyes fluttered open in a daze. Your vision puzzled you for a moment before you realized that you did indeed open your eyes, but the place you were in was pitch black.
Where were you? And what were you doing—
Suddenly everything came flooding back.
The monster.
Your labored breaths as you tried to escape from it.
And the phone call you had made just before...
Before....before....you didn't know. That's the part you couldn't recall. It had found you, but you weren't sure if it had done anything.
Just then, the sound of scuffling of feet hit your ears. There was something coming towards you.
The haze over your eyes began to clear as a tall figure began creeping slowly in your direction. Alarms went off in your head while you tried to get away from the being, scrambling backwards only to be halted by a hard surface. Your breath hitched in fear.
"(l/n)!" The sound of your name bewildered you as a large body suddenly lunged itself forward.
Still in shock, you fought against the arms that grabbed you, yanking and thrashing away from them ferociously. "Let me go!!" You yelped. You rammed your foot square in their stomach giving you time to stagger and lift yourself up.
Just as you were about to slip away, you heard a distinct groan that stopped you in your tracks. You stared at the figure hunched over in pain. "Damn it, (l/n)... it's me...!" They said in between hacking.
A wave of relief washed over you as you realized who it was. "Bakugou!" You cried out with gasp, throwing your arms around him. The force of the pounce was rather rough causing him to stumble to the ground. You didn't care though. You were too happy that someone was there. That he was there.
The events of tonight had finally took a toll on you. It was like all at once the weight of it all had fallen on you and Bakugou was there. Your drying tears were met with new ones as you whimpered softly against his shoulder. If you had anything to say, you couldn't let it be known. Your uncontrollable shaking made sure of that.
Your reaction must have caught him by surprise because he went rigid for a few moments. The tension in his body quickly subsided however, and with a quiet sigh, he wrapped his arms around you tightly. His embrace felt warm and comforting as you sobbed your eyes out in his grasp.
