Countdown
Speed, strength, attack, defense, these were all the attributes your opponents had against you. They seemed too perfectly unified to be real while your own team was haphazardly created at the last second. But there was nowhere to turn, nowhere to escape. Fighting was your only option.
"I knew we would eventually have to confront them, but I thought that would be later in the battle," Tokoyami said tensely. "They're really gunning for you, Midoriya."
"He's a fierce opponent, Izu," You remarked, recalling all the times where Todoroki had frozen your limbs or trapped you in an ice cube during your sparring sessions. "If we're gonna take him on we'd better have a plan."
Izuku looked troubled. "We're at half time. If we keep evading—"
"Iida, forward," Shoto directed before your group had a moment to gather themselves. "Yaoyorozu, prepare for defense and the insulator. Kaminari—"
The yellow blond smirked as their horse burst into speed thanks to Iida's quirk. "Yeah, I got it!"
The strategy went right out the window when a handful of other teams witnessed your vulnerability and made a bee line for your group. The objective was now survive.
"Watch our surroundings, we've got multiple enemies now!" Midoriya warned.
But your gaze was still fixed on Todoroki who was gaining fast. You played his words over again in your head and realized the move he was making. You watched as Kaminari sparked dangerously. "Make sure you guard well..." He sneered. Shoto responded by throwing a blanket over his other team members.
"Izuku, look out!" You shouted, but it was too late. The violent volts of electricity dispersed throughout the area bringing all other competitors to a shocking stop. Dark Shadow did his best to block the assault, but the effect of Kaminari's quirk was too great to cover all of you well.
You hid behind your forearm; however a few brutal traces of electricity still reached you. They coursed through your muscles like a thousand pins and needles and zapped the air right out of your lungs. The pain was so excruciating you almost vomited right after. You couldn't begin to imagine what the others who took the full hit must have felt.
"(y/n)!! Are you okay!?" Izuku shouted fearfully as you stumbled. Your grasp on him weakened while you tried to recover from the blow.
"Less than six minutes left. We won't back down now," Shoto encouraged his teammates though his line of vision fell briefly on you. He brushed back the feeling as he used Yaoyorozu makeshift weapon to trail down a sheet of ice to the floor. The frost paralyzed the other competitors who were still adjusting after Kaminari's quirk.
"What's this now!? Todoroki's taken out a herd of cavalry teams in an instant!" Present Mic commentated, but another solemn voice followed after. "He waited until they were stunned by Kaminari before freezing them. He must have remembered how many managed to dodge his ice during the obstacle course."
"Nice commentary!"
On his victory path, Todoroki also snagged few of the other students' headbands before shifting over to your group. Izuku rapidly focused on his next move, but glanced over at you as he did so. "(y/n), will you be able to fly us out of here?"
You winced and looked up to see Shoto heading straight for you. Hatsume's glove suffered from the electrical blast and was now charred and smoking. You ripped the fabric off of yourself and nodded. "I'll try."
Midoriya let out a worried sigh, but pressed the button for the jetpack. Unfortunately, Kaminari's shock had also gotten to it. It sputtered out and groaned its last mechanical breath. "The backpack...!"
"My babies! Guess there's room for improvement," Hatsume pouted.
"They're coming!!" Uraraka cried out as the team closed in.
There was no chance of you guys getting away, so in a last ditch effort to throw them off you raised your hand directly at Todoroki and shot out the strongest ray of matter you could muster.
There was something particularly off about it however. Kaminari's attack had left you feeling funny. It was as if the electrical current was battle your own matter, as if it were trying to mold to yours but your body was refusing. When you blasted out your assault, it came like purple laser spiraled by shockwave of electricity.
It would have made a devastating impact if Yaoyorozu hadn't summoned up some kind of concrete plate to block it. But the kickback was it destroyed her creation upon contact and sent a jolt of charge throughout the team members. It wasn't nearly as strong as Kaminari's quirk but it was enough to knock them back.
You pulled your arm back and grit your teeth. Your attack was already heavy from the amount you conjured and forced out, but the electric current also burned your muscle. It felt like your arm could melt off your shoulder, but at least the electricity was out of your system and your healing quirk could kick in.
It was so weary that its strength threatened to give out causing Izuku to stagger where he sat. "(y/n)!! What was...are you alright?"
His voice and his gaze were laced with concern, but you merely smiled and gripped your aching arm. "You're counting on me to be your attack, so that's what I'm doing. I'll be fine."
His frowned deepened, still not convinced, but he had to push his vexation aside as Team Todoroki were back on their conquest. "Her creation quirk is too hard to break through," Izuku hissed under his breath. "She's our main problem."
"No, Kaminari's worse," Tokoyami interjected. "His light-based quirk poses a great threat to our armor. Had it been actual sunlight, Dark Shadow would have been ripped apart."
You recalled him mentioning this before the match had started as well. Tokoyami had commended Midoriya for choosing him as a defensive guard rather than an attacker. His quirk's offensive abilities were heightened in the dark but made it more difficult to control; while in the daylight it was manageable but delivered considerably less heavy blows.
So if he couldn't defend against Kaminari's assaults...it left you all like sitting ducks.
"I can try..." You began but the overwhelming heat in your arm made it hard to even lift. You focused your healing to that limb specifically in order to speed up the process. "I'll take over our guard and attack."
"No, you've exhausted yourself already as it is," Midoriya scolded, though he did it as kindly as possible. "So your offense is down for the count, right, Tokoyami?"
"Yes."
"But they don't know that, do they?"
Your eyes widened at what he was suggesting. "Izuku, that's a huge gamble."
"I don't believe so," the bird boy replied. "The only one I ever told about my weakness was Koda back at USJ, and he is a man of few words."
The green haired male exhaled and fixed his eyes on the opponents who were storming the area. "I know the risk, (y/n), but it's our last card to play. If they don't know about your current state and Tokoyami's weakness, we can still fake them out."
You hated to admit it, but Midoriya was right. With no other moves to make a bluff would have to be your best bet no matter how risky it was. You trusted him this long and he had yet to steer you wrong...
Your brows furrowed into your determined expression. "Okay, what's the plan?"
"We hang on to the ten million...at all costs!" Izuku commanded just as Team Todoroki approached.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kendo frowned disapprovingly when she witnessed the exchange between Bakugou and Monoma. "Don't dig yourself a deeper hole, Monoma! No sense in making enemies at this point."
"You're right," the male smirked. "That's not very heroic of me. Plus you hear a lot about heroes getting payback from villains."
The fury running through Bakugou's veins was visible through the physical trembling of his posture. A low, eminent growl resonated from his chest as Kirishima cast a glance behind. "Don't let him get to you, man! If you don't keep your cool we'll never get our points back!"
The blond suddenly punched his fist into his palm, an explosion detonating as he did so. The smoke from the blast still lingered at his fingertips while the vicious grin on his face broadened. "Keep moving, Kirishima...I'm completely calm..." Bakugou might have stopped you from killing this bastard in the past, but nothing was gonna save him from catching these hands this time around.
The red head rolled his eyes and groaned. "Come on, dude." Nevertheless, he did as he was told and made a break for Monoma.
Bakugou swung his arm at the ready with a wicked blast. But his aim was dodged as Monoma leaned away and let the attack explode past him. The icy eyed male brushed the blond's arm and was quick to retaliate with a fiery shot right in Bakugou's face. "That's a neat quirk you got there," He smiled. "It suits your personality."
Team Bakugou stepped back to recover from the strangely similar attack. Every member stared in bewilderment. "That guy has the same quirk as you!?" Kirishima exclaimed.
The tempermental blond scowled, but reacted relentlessly as he threw another blast at the irritating bastard. "Die!" This assault was much stronger than the previous one. It had to have landed.
He was sure it did when his hand hit something hard inside the cloud of grey smoke he created. But the chuckles that followed as the smoke dissipated revealed another sight.
"Really, such nice quirks..." Monoma laughed as he held up his rock-like forearm which had taken Bakugou's hit. There wasn't a scratch on him. "Mine's better though."
Kirishima gasped in surprise. "Wha...? Mine too? Am I looking in a mirror or something?"
"Nah," Bakugou's furrowed brows deepened, "This fucker's just a copycat."
"Ding ding!" Monoma mocked them with a wide smirk. "But I shouldn't give you too much credit. Any idiot could have figured as much."
The blond was just about ready to tear that grin off his face when a wave of white sludge shot out between the two teams, forcing them back. Monoma glanced over, instantly recognizing the aggressor. "Bondo's picking a fight."
A tall, burly student with bell–shaped head neared him with a girl clinging to his back. "Monoma, we've gotta run!" His teammate advised as more people began to take notice. "With this many points we'll definitely be in the top four!"
"Alright, alright..."
"After them!" Bakugou instructed as the team started in their opposite direction. "It's solidifying!" Kirishima shouted. The blond looked down to see some of the goop had splashed them and was now hardening them to the ground.
"Hold on, my quirk should melt this!" Mina remarked, placing her foot to the thick substance and released the acidic liquid from her body.
"Hurry! We're at zero points!" Sero said anxiously.
Bakugou could only stare as his opponents got farther and farther away. But before they were out of earshot, Monoma turned around with that annoying smirk on his lips. He raised a hand to wave, letting off a small wisp of an explosion from his fingers. "Aw, don't be mad. You brought this on yourself. After all, what was that pledge you made earlier? Seems kind of embarrassing now..."
"Well, whatever. Thanks for the points, anyway!" Monoma flickered his boring gaze into Bakugou's as he said his next words. "I'll tell (l/n) you said hi, you know, when I meet with her for the next round."
The ash blond's snarl grew to ferocious limits. He was done with this fucking clown.
"First place...but not just first place, no," Bakugou's low growl reverberated in his chest. "I'm taking an indisputable first place!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another ray flashed out of your palm as Todoroki once again attempted to freeze your team. You made the blast strong enough to melt his attack upon impact, leaving behind a white mist from the clashing elements.
Your arm was burning up. Kaminari's quirk mixed with you overdoing yourself was causing your muscle to overheat. You tried healing it but that was taking a toll on your body as well. It couldn't keep up. You thought about summoning your second quirk but whenever you did so it also felt like lava trailing up your arm. You couldn't predict how it would react to your star matter quirk if you did so. Changing to your right limb wasn't an option either since you were using it to hold up Midoriya.
It seemed like everything was out of your favor. Even Shoto had gone and created a thick wall of ice around you two, keeping your teams in a single space and the other out of it.
Your arm was numb with blistering pain, but you urged yourself to keep a straight face and not let on anything.
"Only a minute left! Todoroki made his own little arena and is primed to seize that ten million!!" Present Mic boomed. "Or so we thought! But it's been five minutes now and Team Midoriya has unbelievably been able to evade Todoroki!!"
Your group once again shifted to Todoroki's left side causing him to have to revaluate his strategy. Izuku had noted that Shoto refrained from using his ice this way since Iida would be in his line of fire. And if he did so he would act recklessly and be the cause of his own downfall. He also refused to use Kaminari for attacking since they still believed Tokoyami could defend against it.
All you had to do was hold out for a minute longer...
You watched as the enemy team discussed something that wasn't audibly close. All of you saw as Iida planted a firm foot in front of him when—
Without warning, he shot forward at an incredibly break-neck speed. None of you could have been prepared for it as he zoomed past you, forcing a wave of air to thrust your team to a stumble.
Your heart was still hammering against your lungs when Shoto's group rounded to a stop across the mini arena. Your eyes immediately glanced up to Izuku whose face was only registering shock. You seemed to regard the same sentiment when you noticed your headbands were no longer on Midoriya's head.
"WHHAAAA....!? WHAT HAPPENED!?" Present Mic shrieked, the crowds going wild. "That was too fast for the naked eye!! Why didn't Iida show us that acceleration in the prelims!?"
Your eyes focused on Iida who was staring back at Izuku with a challenging gaze. From the look of your leader you were pretty sure he had no idea his friend could do that. It appeared Midoriya's earlier statement of Iida proclaiming himself his rival was extremely valid.
But one could tell instantly that the engine student was out of commission. His calves spewed out so much black smoke that it surrounded his entire group.
"A head spinning turn of events right at the edge of the playing field!! Todoroki snatched the ten million right out from under Midoriya plummeting him at zero points!! Who will emerge victorious!?"
In a flash, Izuku swiveled to face Todoroki. "Charge them!"
"My attacks are meaningless as long as Kaminari's there! And (l/n)'s already done all she could," Tokoyami warned. "It'd be best if we go after someone else's points—"
"No!" Izuku deflected fervently. "We don't know where all the points have split off to! This is our only chance!"
"We're getting those points back!" You backed him up, a venomous scowl at your teeth. You didn't care how fucked your arm was; you refused to lose. "Uraraka, use your boot. I'm doing the last bit I can."
"Right!" She nodded, kicking the hover shoe into drive.
Your eyes flickered over to Midoriya. His expression was just as frantically mad as yours. "Izuku, you better get those headbands." A moment of recognition ghosted over his features until he finally gestured in firm agreement. This wasn't just about him. This was about everyone.
"Let's go!" Uraraka cried out and pushed her teammates forward. You wasted no time in flinging out your hand and let an enormous burst of matter blaze through the muscle. Tears stung the corners of your eyes as the burning sensation began to render itself cold. Your ray scathed the ground like coal as you pushed yourself as far as you could go. You reached Todoroki's team within seconds.
Midoriya wound back his arm, a colorful, lightning-like pattern began glowing on his skin. Something about the power that emanated from him brought out a fearful look from Shoto. A twinge of déjà vu coursed through your features as well when he launched his palm at the enemy.
Your gaze turned into bewilderment as a familiar flicker of flames rushed out from Todoroki's arm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We're less than a minute away and Todoroki has four headbands! He wrested breakout star Midoriya's headband! And with it, first place!! Are these our top four teams for this event!?"
Monoma glanced up at the scoreboard, your image in his mind as he did so. "(l/n)...6th place and zero points? Maybe I spoke too soon..." His pupils then scanned for his own group. "We placed second," He informed his teammates. "We might've done a little too well ourselves. Let's focus on keep what we've got."
"Just wait a fucking second!" A voice screamed from behind as Team Monoma treaded on. The male turned to look at them with a sigh. "Jeez, you're persistent. You're starting to get—"
He didn't get to finish as Bakugou came soaring over head thanks to his quirk. "Get back here, Bakugou!!" Kirishima yelled after him.
Monoma went wide and shouted to his teammate. "Tsuburaba, shield!" The boy inhaled deeply and blew out a large gust of wind which Bakugou ended up slamming into. The air had solidified and created a clear glass wall separating them. This didn't stop the explosive blond from thrusting his fist into it however.
The student laughed at his various attempts to break through it. "How'd you like that? Serves you right, asshole!" The team whipped around to leave when an ear piercing shatter made them stop. Monoma didn't even get to see him directly as Bakugou broke clean through the glass and tore off the headbands off from around his neck.
"He took two!" Monoma's cool composure was lost just as Sero managed to catch Bakugou mid-fall.
"Team Bakugou reclaims their position in third place! Quite the shake-up in rankings at this point in the game, but that's the spirit of youth for ya!!"
Monoma copied his teammates' quirk just as two other groups came rushing towards them. He and his shared quirk friend blew walls of air at the competitors who were doing their all to nab their last headband.
"Damn it!" Monoma scowled.
"It's fine! We're in fourth, and it doesn't look like Kendo's going anywhere any time soon, so that leaves less teams to deal with," His classmate said, glancing over to the orange-haired girl who was trapped by Bondo's cement-like substance.
Monoma gripped the points around his neck protectively. "Yeah...just have to guard this one with our lives."
But to his unaware dismay, Bakugou was far from done. Sero reeled him back in with his tape and gave him a scornful glare. "Give us a little warning before you jump!" He then sighed with a shake of his head. "Well, at least we have enough to move on to the next round—"
"I AIN'T DONE YET!" The blond roared maliciously as he knocked his fist into Kirishima's head several times.
"WHAT!?"
"I'M NOT SETTLING FOR SOME HALF-ASSED FIRST PLACE!!" Bakugou snarled. "I couldn't brace myself enough earlier on my own! So move!!" Not only was he pissed about having his point stolen, he was also furious about all the shit Monoma talked. He ran his mouth way too much for Bakugou not to kick his fucking teeth in. His irritation revved to life just remembering all the things he said of him and you. "We're getting our points back, and the ten million!!"
Bakugou's fiery determination brought a broad grin to all their faces. Sero chuckled to himself. "This guy..."
Aizawa watched from the cabin as Bakugou chased Monoma at full throttle. "Class B's strategy was good and rational. Unfortunately for them..."
"Soy sauce! Tape!" The blond instructed, lifting his leg to give Sero an aim. The dark haired boy flexed his arm and sent his tape flying out past Monoma's group. Bakugou did the same for Mina when he yelled, "Raccoon Eyes! Lay down a weak dissolving solution in the direction we're going!"
The pinkette's brows furrowed into an angry frown. "Bakugou, so help me...it's Ashido Mina!" The girl shot out her acidic liquid, giving the team a clear path towards their opponent. Bakugou angled his hands behind himself and blasted off. Their departure was more like rocket as it glided rapidly across the field.
"...they didn't take the difference in tenacity into consideration."
Monoma put up a glass shield but nothing could've have withstood the bombastic explosion Bakugou erupted as he broke through and harshly snatched back their headbands.
"BAKUGOU! ABSOLUTELY MERCILESS!!" The audience went ballistic at the ever-changing turning of the tide. "What a perfectionist! Anything worth doing is worth doing right!! Now...we're nearing the end of the match with only 20 seconds left!"
Bakugou snapped his head to the side, spying the spiky wall of ice Todoroki had made for himself. "Next up, Deku, Todoroki, and (y/n)!!" The blond barked in a growl.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What was this feeling? You questioned yourself at that moment as Izuku reached for Shoto's arm. Your leader's attack seemed to be familiar to you though you didn't know from where. You had felt this sensation before. This heavy, raw power that had been used on you before...
But you had no time to ponder as another unexpected event occurred. Even he looked baffled by it. The very flames that Shoto swore to never use were now in full view. He had lifted his left forearm in defense which was now encased by that fire you had only seen once. Even back then it was merely a glimpse, but you recalled the state he was in that triggered it. You had backed him into a corner with no other moves to make. It was instinctual to do everything possible if you feared for injury.
This seemed like it was the same case too.
But rather than hitting him, Izuku swiped at Todoroki's hand. It forced him out of the way giving Midoriya the opening he needed to grab the headband. Your eyes widened upon seeing that Shoto had turned the points inside out to hide their values. You could only hope your leader had snagged the correct one.
"I got it!" Izuku proclaimed.
The crowds let out magnanimous roar as Present Mic went on to narrate the spectacle. "With just seventeen seconds on the clock, we have yet another fierce recovery!!"
However, Hatsume's gasp was quick to bring you all back down to earth. She stared at the cloth in Izuku's hand, mouth ajar. "Hold on...that's...!"
You stared in horror at the sight in front of you. Midoriya's palm shook as he realized his fatal error. "They...they tricked us!"
In his grasp was a headband with the simple red digits of a seven and a zero on it.
"We switched the positions of the headbands just in case," Yaoyorozu shouted when she saw your group's shock. "You were too naïve, Midoriya!"
"Come to your senses, Todoroki! That was very close!" Iida warned, but the male was too fixed on the arm that had practically taken on a mind of its own.
You had your own worries for Shoto, but at that second you had little time to linger on it. Your team wouldn't be able to continue with 70 points to your name.
"Time's just about up!"
"Izu, again!" You groaned, trying to direct your flimsy arm. It trembled uncontrollably as you tried to muster the purple matter back in your hand.
"No!" He reprimanded and instead turned to your bird teammate. "Tokoyami!"
"Right!"
Dark Shadow snaked across the distance between the teams and went to attack when Todoroki blanketed themselves and let Kaminari releases a scorching electrical charge. Needless to say, the shadow was no match for it and faltered.
Just then, Team Bakugou emerged from a melted side of the ice wall. The ill-tempered blond immediately leapt off his teammates and went to confront the two opposing sides.
"Uraraka!" Izuku cried out. The brunette flipped her boot into overdrive and used it to rush the team. With Kaminari now sparked out, the only threat to your group was the ponytailed girl.
"Yaoyorozu!" Shoto instructed as she nodded and created a pole for him to use.
Bakugou shifted his gaze between the two, scouring for who had the ten million.
"Izuku, grab it!" You screamed, running your legs to the ground. The male let out a strained shout as he closed the gap between him and Todoroki and—
"TIME'S UP!!!"
Your heart could have stopped by how abrupt the bell had rung. Even Katsuki seemed astounded by it because he ended up falling flat on his face.
Oh but the crowds cheered. They cheered and raved, having no idea of the defeat coursing through you and your team members.
"That's it for the cavalry battle! Let's see who our top four are now!"
"No..." You gasped, petrified to a standstill. Your fists were clamped, knuckles white as you grit your teeth. Your body shook in anger, disappointment, frustration....
You had worked so hard. You defied the school's rules and entered the Sports Festival. You had clawed your way up the ranks, probably busting your arm in the process. And for what? It was all for nothing.
"In first, Team Todoroki!"
"In second place, Team Bakugou!"
The mention of his name stirred you out of your thoughts a bit bringing you to cast your glance over to them. Kirishima, Mina, and Sero all looked pretty please with what they got though a little tired. However, Katsuki was off to the side yelling his head off. He was most likely furious about not making it to first place.
"In third, Tetsute—huh? What!? It's Team Shinsou!? Whoa! Who saw that twist coming?"
Shinsou? You blinked and stared off to the familiar purpled haired male who had helped you earlier. He managed to make it to the next round. Though you were still disheartened about your outcome, you were happy that he at least got the shot he deserved.
Feeling too depressed to listen to more, you meandered over to your teammates who were help each other remove Hatsume's gadgets. You sighed and pulled the glove that hadn't been damaged off. As you handed it back to her, you noticed your overused arm was twice the size of your opposite one. You had really done a number on it, leaving it swollen and numb.
God, you wanted to cry. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do more, guys."
Izuku shook his head. "No...you did more than enough. I'm the one who..." His lips thinned into a line. "I'm the one who messed up. If I had anticipated them changing the headbands...gah...I'm so sorry..."
Hatsume raised a brow while Uraraka frowned. The brunette then lit up with joy as she and the inventor pointed behind them to another individual who was missing from the conversation. Tokoyami came into view appearing as stoic as ever.
"Todoroki was clearly shaken by your first attack, Midoriya," the bird boy explained. "I did my best to nab the ten million...but I came up short. However, I did manage to snag the one on his head." Yours and Izuku's expression were twinning in that moment as Dark Shadow came up with a headband in its mouth. On it read the numbers '615'. "That last ditch effort of yours left him wide open."
"In fourth, Team Midoriya!"
You couldn't stop the shriek from leaving your throat as you bounced all around. All your earlier exhaustion somehow melted away and left you grabbing the nearest people and pulling them into an embrace. They so happened to be Izuku and Uraraka. The male was literally crying his eyes out while you and the brunette screamed in jubilation. Hatsume was beside you guys hastily working to repair her equipment.
"These four teams will move one to the final round!"
"Oh my god, Tokoyami!" You grinned from ear to ear and hugged him as well. He was embarrassed by the display of affection, but didn't push you away. You then turned to Dark Shadow and gave him a good scratch under his jaw. "You two were amazing!" The shadow being cuddled into your hand, thankful for the praise and love.
"We'll proceed with today's festivities after a one hour lunch break! See you then!" Present Mic finished but not before the microphone picked up another discussion. "Hey, Eraserhead, wanna get some food?"
"I'm taking a nap."
"Wha!?"
"(l/n)! We're heading to the cafeteria! Wanna come?" Uraraka invited as some of the other 1-A girls gathered.
You smiled softly. This was one of the first times the girls had personally asked you to hang out with them. It was always you sitting with Katsuki or meeting back up with Ibara and Itsuka. And they were great friends of course, however, you wished you could befriend more of the girls in your class.
You wanted to say yes, but being surrounded by school staff and other potential dangers forced you to decline. You needed to stay out of their sight so they couldn't pull you from the rankings. After all, they couldn't kick out who they couldn't find.
Not only that, but your arm was looking extremely worse for wear. You needed to take of it if you wanted to be in shape for the next round.
"Maybe next time, Uraraka, I promise. I gotta treat my arm. I can't really feel it right now," You chortled anxiously. The brunette flashed you a look of concern. "I can take you to Recovery Girl—"
"Nah, it's alright. I know the way. I don't want to take up your time either."
The girl bit her lip. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good! I'll see you later!" You waved with your good hand and dashed off the field before anyone important noticed you.
However, just as you ran off, someone else sauntered over. "Oi, mochi face, where's (y/n)?"
"Oh, Bakugou! You were really fierce out there! I can't believe you got second place!" Uraraka cheered. "And you just missed her! She went to bandage her arm."
He shook his head with an exhale. "That dumbass...what'd she do this time?"
"Wanna come eat lunch with us? I heard they're having a special for today's event!" Uraraka offered.
The blond shrugged. "Fine." He was about to follow the girl when his eye caught the exchange happening between Todoroki and Deku. His eyebrows furrowed in question as they began to walk off in another direction.
"Actually, you go ahead. I have something to take care of."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welp, you were lost. You weren't sure which part of the school you had entered, but you somehow ended up turned around in the maze of hallways. You were sure this was the freshman side...
The only upside was that you had managed to find the nurse's office. After making sure Recovery Girl wasn't in there, you swiped your necessities and headed down the stairwell.
You were probably all jumbled up from entering the school a different way. You had never even explored this much of UA. Were you even on the right floor?
These inquiries and more rattled your thoughts as you fixed the ice bag around your puffy arm. The cold helped. As long as you brought down the swelling, you figured you could probably activate your healing quirk to do the rest.
You were musing to yourself about how your teammates were so great and fiddling with the ice pack when you collided with a wall. You weren't walking particularly fast so you only stumbled.
You were internally calling yourself an idiot when you realized it wasn't a wall you had bumped into. No, it was a towering man with eyes that lasered into a heavy glower. His muscular form made him appear a giant next to your tiny frame.
But what stuck out to you were the violent flames swaying fervently on his chest and face. A fire you could only describe as menacing.
Your body tensed when you recognized the person in your sights.
"(l/n)," Endeavor's voice reverberated in the empty hall, "It's good to see you."
So this is severely off topic but I've started playing this android game. You may be familiar with it, it's called Obey Me. It's an otome game that had been getting a lot of hype and I thought I'd check it out. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoy it!
Well if that were the case I probably wouldn't be talking about it right now. Don't get me wrong, the characters are all funny and have such unique designs, but the story structure really irks me. So much so that I've wanted to write my own storyline for it.
I'm still in the beginning stages of the game, so I have yet to fully get a grasp on the characters, but I'd like to at some point write a little something for it. Maybe a book or maybe some one shots. Depends on my time and love for the game. I hate the how the battles really take you out of the story as your playing. I wouldn't mind them after each section. But instead we get them AFTER EVERY CHAPTER. It's annoying. Especially since they're so short and hardly add much to the story.
If you've played the game let me know if it gets better! I'd like to hear your thoughts!
