Hey there :slight_smile: It's me, your favourite Nab again. October is the Halloween month and what better tribute to the month than the anti-villain issue at Tevun-Krus itself. So get ready, put on your seat-belts and masks as we take this anti-villainous journey together.

You must be wondering, "What is an anti-villain?" Well, anti-villain is defined as "An Anti-Villain is the opposite of an Anti-Hero — a character with heroic goals, personality traits, and/or virtues who is ultimately the villain. Their desired ends are mostly good, but their means of getting there range from evil to undesirable. It's possible their goals are selfish or have long-term consequences (they don't usually care about), but they're good people who might even team up with the hero if their goals don't conflict.

They often test the limits that makes them more good than normal villains but not quite heroes, blurring the lines between hero and villain the same way an Anti-Hero does, but coming from the opposite direction.

Anti-Villain is an attempt to lighten up a villain. Side by side, it can become very hard to tell them apart. The only reason some would even be considered evil at all is when they're labelled as the Villain. Despite this humanizing characteristics, they can't be assumed to be less dangerous. Heroes wouldn't know what to expect if their enemy shows caring and then attacks their reputation, without giving them an excuse to rationalize killing them.

Most of them are probably well aware that what they're doing is "evil", but strive to maintain a good façade, often by engaging in down-to-earth villainy. They'll see it as a viable means to a good end.

In terms of personality, anti-villains are kind-hearted and can be caring and honorable in nature, even towards their enemies. It is possible for them to treat their own allies with rudeness, which on its own, is a very unusual trait to possess.

Compared to regular villains that are just simply evil, anti-villains are often neutral - depending on said characters. Those that are part of the neutral alignments however, aren't exactly benign, but they aren't malicious either.

There also exist anti-villains that are outright evil in nature, with all of the attributes of their tribe in common. They can also be capable of a Heel–Face Turn much more easily than normal villains thanks to their personalities.It is possible to turn a normal villain into an Anti-Villain if there is nothing good about their present motivations.

Blade

Blade is called the daywalker by the vampire community, because of his ability to walk around in the daylight as a vampire himself. His goal is to destroy other vampires, but he is clearly disinterested with saving lives, and is more concerned with just upping the vampiric body count.

Loki

Loki is the God of Mischief. His ultimate goal is to gain approval with his father, Odin, and his brother, Thor, but simultaneously rule over Asgard and the 9 realms. He is a liar, cunning, and dangerous. The problem is that he switches "sides" like you and I switch gazes.

Maximus

Maximus is an Inhuman who underwent terrigenesis, only to be transformed into a normal human. He is against the class system that has been put in place, which guarantees that people on the bottom stay there. However, his path to salvation for his people is unbelievably cruel.

Gru

From Despicable Me. A total cunning guy, whose soft side is explored when he meets the three little kids.

Magneto

His intentions are good - to make the world a better place for the mutants, but approach is bad - by killing all humans.

Ra's al Ghul

An extremely skilled fighter who plans to destroy the Gotham civilization much like Constantinople or Rome, with the intention of getting rid of the evil.
