The Light of the Stars

The sailor who travels the sea at night,

Can see the light of the stars,

Reflected in his wake,

Fallen from the sky,

For thousands of years.

The sea is hungry for everything,

Swallows it all,

And remembers,

Even the eternal light of the stars.

We name the constellations, tell stories about them.

But the stars look down upon our short lives,

And smile.

When a star dies, it leaves a glowing track on the sky,

To be seen for ages to come.
