AngusEcrivain sits down with PerhapsIWill, a Wattpadder who recently confused him and changed her name from 'WindChimes_08,' and who's appeared as both contestant and judge in past SmackDowns. Let's find out what she has to say... 

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what words wouldn't you use?

The first word to top the list would be 'confident'. I'm seriously lacking in that department. 'Gloomy', 'sociable', 'boring' are among others.

What was your nickname at school?

My real name is Bidita and most of my school friends had shortened it into either Bidi or Biri. Now in college, the 'Bidi' is still stuck with me but that's okay since that name has grown on me. I wouldn't say the same thing about 'Biri' though- I detest that one.

When you were a young padowan, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was in elementary, the first identity I ever wanted to associate myself with was that of an artist. But then it changed like many other things in my life.

What is your favourite quote?

Right now, it's "Always." <3

Other than writing, what hobbies do you have?

Definitely sketching and listening to either songs or simply instrumental music

If you were one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which one would you be and why?

I can't relate that well with any of them but to a certain extent I might be Conquest. I have a bit of the perfectionist gene in me and also a bit jealous. So if a friend or anybody turns out to be better than me in something, well, I kind of get jealous, work hard in that department and become more successful than that person. Conqueror in action!! :D

What was the first piece of writing you were ever truly proud to have written?

When I was in grade 3, there was this story writing competition at my school. I remember having written something about a shape-shifting magical creature trying to lure a little girl into a trap and well, I won that contest :D

Who is your all-time favourite author? How much - if at all - have they influenced your writing style?

I don't stick to one particular person like that. My interests always tend to shift after sometime. So, I might be crazy about this author right now but maybe a year later I would be starstruck with another. So with so many favourite authors, all of them had a hand in shaping my way with words. To mention a few though, there are Louisa May Alcott, Maupassant, Amitav Ghosh and also certain Indian writers like Satyajit Ray, Narayan Gangopadhyay and such!

Do you have a muse?

If you count all those wonderfully perfect and irresistibly hot men who live between the pages of fiction, then yes!! I have more than one muse :D

Walk us through your writing process. How do you begin and how do you decide when a story is done? What do you use to write, and whereabouts do you use it?

I always begin a story abruptly, like when my protagonist is returning from a walk or is in a party of some sort- it always leaves an impact by jumping into somebody life so suddenly. I use inspirations from everywhere to write. Stories, ideas, friends, my life, movies, a picture, a music track, name it! These are my tools apart from my constant reveries :P
Conclusions.. I suck at those. Im still working on that so I cant give a definite answer. But I kind of always have an ending planned out towards the end of the story so I work on crafting out that ending as best as I can.

Of everything you have written, what is your favourite?

That story I had written back in grade 4. It was my breakthrough :D and had the perfect ending

...and what is your fans' favourite?

"Fireflies in the Forest" .But I have taken it down. I plan to put it up again some time later after brushing up it a lil bit.

We know some of the big authors, Orson Scott Card and Tolkien, for example, incorporate their religious beliefs into their work. Are you religious? If so, do you incorporate those beliefs into your work?

No, I'm not that religious and I haven't tried anything like that before.. But the idea sounds interesting so maybe I'll give it a shot!

Was there one idea that you had that didn't turn out quite the way you envisioned it?

Many!! I always start with one idea, or a single picture in the beginning.. I dont have anything else at that point.. The ideas evolve as the story goes. I generally go with the flow and change things along the way. But there are also certain stories which I write with an ending in mind. Those times, I stick with the ending and evolve the story accordingly.

Do you use real life experiences to influence your writing?

Yes! But that's only like 40%. Thr rest is based on my ideas and whatever other relatable knowledge I have gained from books, movies, etc.

If an alien race was, unbeknownst to us, watching and studying us from afar, what do you think their primary findings would be?

Pollution. How the earth is weathering away and how the humans are responsible for accelerating this process.

If you were to gain control of some form of time travel device, where - or when - would you go, and why?

Time travel device? I would opt for an wormhole then and visit the parallel universe of earth itself in its present day. I would want to meet my alternate ego who, Im pretty sure, would be a biker girl in a leather jacket with piercings and tattoos. I would like to see myself like that- badass and exigent.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

You just named it! To control time.

Is there a particular moment in history that you would change if you could, regardless of the consequences?

I'm a very selfish person. So when you say history, don't expect to see me flying through time to save some weak civilisation from an invasion. I would be too busy rectifying my personal life, erasing those embarrassing and foolish mistakes I had made which made my life awkward. And fyi, my life is a comedy of errors!

The Technological Singularity presents a rather daunting, some say inevitable, future. Does the prospect of that level of Artificial Intelligence excite you, or make you quake in your boots?

It excites me! Really it does. The prospect of super intelligence is something which is very intriguing but then again, we dont know the ill effects it would bring right? Artificial superintelligence rings a terminator kind of bell for me.. But well, every coin has 2 sides.

Myths and Legends have been around since forever and will most likely continue to grow and develop until we, the human race, are nothing more than a memory but of all such things you have read, what is your favourite 'modern,' interpretation of a particular tale of old?

I believe every myth is a twisted version of reality. But I'm not that knowledgable about mythologies so I won't be able to give an interpretation which would make much sense.

Now this one might prove to be a bit of a shout-out to a Wattpadder, but that's no bad thing if you ask me! If you could experience the world of any book on Wattpad, first hand, which world would that be and why?

Not much of a science fiction reader and you know that! x'D But I had read this story on wattpad which was quite interesting, I forgot the name though. But currently, I've started reading this sci-fi novel "The last adventure of Dr. Yngve Hogalam" and it seems quite good till now. Well to tell you the truth, the story is a little steampunkish and it resembles the scene of a Jules Verne tale and since Im a steampunk fan, I like these sorts of stories!!

And finally, any words of wisdom for new and aspiring writers?

Write what you want to write. Avoid too much details where it's not needed and give details where it's needed. Use humour, give attention to plotholes if they're present. Accept critiques positively and most importantly, end on a good note. I have trouble concluding but I hope others would not so that I can enjoy a good read! :P
