Hit Hard, Hit Fast, Move Faster

Location: Some Small Planet, No Remarkable Features

Three mechs are seen engaging by one and a half lances^ of enemy mechs, with the three being semi protected by the walls of a canyon, while the lance and a half are approaching  by walking up a steeper road, with the width of the road being wide enough to allow a lance of assault mechs to walk in a rank with out hindering their movement and still leaving enough room to fight. The area also has a river running next to it, with it being large enough for a smaller mech to submerge a decent amount of its chassis in the river.

The attacking force consists of five light mechs and a medium, with those mechs being a pair of Locust, a Stinger, two Wasps, and a Phoenix Hawk.

On the other side, the defending force is made up of a Locust, an old Star League era Crab (that's in surprisingly good condition), and a mech that doesn't appear to be any known model of mech, with it appearing much scrappier than any mechs with an official designation.

The mech of unknown classification is in the process of darting back to cover after having zipped out from behind cover to harassing the attacking force and taking out the knee joint of one of the Wasps, effectively taking away the mechs ability to use its jump jets.

The Phoenix Hawk then opens fire on the retreating mech with its large laser

<< Shit, I can't take another hit like that. I might be able to keep fighting with the damage from that hit, but the heats the biggest problem. I'm going to hop in the river. I can keep fighting, but I need to loose heat a chunk of that heat. >>

<< Copy that. You good after that hit? >>

<< Oh, I'm fine. Chassis' at 72%, but that's an easy enough fix. Plus, the additional heat is good some times. Thermal generator kit benefits from that. >>

<< Oh, go jump in a lake. >>

<< Yes, that's the plan. >>

<< Oh quit flirting you two. >>

The damaged mech then sets off into a run with the extra boosters that I've installed allowing me to move much faster than any stock mech, with the mech reaching the river a few moments later and submerging, before dumping most of the additional heat into the water.

{HEAT CAPACITY: 58%}

<< Heat's dumped. I just had an idea through. >>

<< This a good idea or a bad one? >>

<< Oh, shut it, it's actually good this time. You know how the road is fairly steep and how there's a choke point that they have to pass through? >>

<< Yeah . . . ? >>

<< So have you ever been bowling? >>

<< What does. . . ? Wait. . . OH, I see where your going. >>

<< Why are you asking about bowling? >>

<< Well. . . I found a really nice boulder, and I think I can get a strike with it. >>

<< No. . . >>

<< Yes. >>

The mech then comes out of the river carrying a massive boulder, and then proceeds to throw it down the hill like a bowling ball, crippling the enemy Stinger, both enemy Locusts, and the Wasp that took significant damage to it's knee. The Phoenix Hawk and the remaining Wasp are able to jump over the improvised blowing ball. This jump saves the two mechs from getting crushed, only for them to land in the sights of the Locust and the Crab, with the Crab's pair of large lasers ripping into the Hawk and the Locust hitting the Wasp with its SRMs and medium laser.

As for the third mech of the defending force, the pilot is currently inspecting their handy work and doing their best to defang their adversaries, primarily by taking an improvised cutter and removing the mechs limbs and weapons.

<< See I told you I had a good idea. >>

<< You know, you still haven't told me why your mech is so heavily armed for it being a lighter mech. Or what your mech is for that matter. >>

<< Hey, I just hit hard, hit fast, and move faster. The Mech is just a collection of bits and pieces that let me do that. >>

<< So you're literally just fighting in a franken-mech. >>

<< Yeah, pretty much. The franken-mech bit and the fact that it hit some welds are probably what stopped that hit, even though it took the structural integrity down to 28. >>
