Game On

Just wanna say sorry I kinda disappeared for awhile, school's stressing me out since it's close to the end of the year, which means there's a billion tests I have to study for. I promise I'll try to update more regularly, but it certainly won't be easy until it's the middle of May. I hope you guys understand and the enjoy the chapter!

"We should all try to get some sleep I guess." Amy sighed with a poorly disguised tinge of disappointment in her tone as they all clambered back into Dark's car to drive back to the hotel. She already knew she wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that Mark was still in the hospital without her and that the competition was tomorrow. She can't even imagine going on without him there.

"I don't think I could sleep since the competition's tomorrow." Signe admitted.

The others murmured their agreements except Dark, who nodded in agreement but mainly his focus was trained on the deserted, dimly lit road in front of them.

"I'm more of a night owl anyway if anyone wants to hang out for a bit longer. I brought my PlayStation with me and figured out how to hook it up to the tv." Anti shrugged.

"I may take you up on that." Jack chimed in with an excited grin. He hadn't played video games since he found out he was competing, which was about a month ago which doesn't seem that long, but felt like forever since he was used to playing games on a daily basis for YouTube.

"Fabulousness like me needs their beauty sleep." Felix pretended to do a dramatic hair flip, which didn't really work since his hair was so short.

"If everyone's okay with it, the guys could play video games at my room and the girls can...I don't know, do what girls do. Sound good?" Anti glanced back at the group.

They all agreed eagerly.

Once they arrived, Dark and Anti led the guys to their room while the girls went to Amy and Mark's room.

"What game do you guys wanna play? I have Mario Kart-"

"Hell yeah I wanna play Mario Kart!" Jack cut Anti off, earning laughs from the others.

"What character do you want?" Felix asked Jack as Dark set the game up.

"I'm going with the Yosher." Jack nicknamed Yoshi.

"I'm choosing a random one." Anti closed his eyes and picked a character.

"Princess Daisy?!?" Anti frowned in dismay while Dark laughed at him. He stuck with the character he had gotten, although he didn't seem too happy with it.

"It's a me, Darkio!" Dark said in a surprisingly good imitation of Mario.

"Screw choosing randomly, I'm being my bae Princess Peach." Felix announced.

"Don't tell Marzia." He added jokingly.

"No promises." Dark muttered teasingly under his breath as Jack chose the Mushroom Cup.

"Let the race begin!" Felix cheered as the first race started.

"I'm sure Mark will be fine, the doctor said he wanted to keep Mark for the night just to be sure." Signe assured Amy for at least the one hundredth time.

Marzia, Signe, and Amy were sitting cross legged on Amy's bed talking while Amy alerted Mark's fans of what happened since they were getting worried about him. Mark hadn't contacted his fans since he had learned he would be competing.

"I know..." Amy sighed in exasperation, rubbing her face with her hands.

"How do you feel about the competition?" Marzia asked Amy.

"I'd feel a lot better if I didn't have to go on the first day." Amy admitted.

"Me too." Signe nodded in agreement.

"Yeah that must suck." Marzia chimed in sympathetically.

"Is this gonna be our careers now? I mean, with YouTube not paying the YouTubers anymore..." Signe trailed off. Amy and Marzia knew that she missed her channel, even though it was small.

"I don't think I can do this more than once." Amy shuddered at the thought. She couldn't imagine having to compete every month.

"Should we go see what the guys are doing?" Marzia stretched her leg over the side of the bed with a soft pop.

"Sure." Amy shrugged and swung her legs over the side of the bed and hopped off onto the carpet, her sock cladded toes digging into the soft carpet before she slipped her shoes on and followed Marzia and Signe to Dark's room.

It wasn't hard to find the room they were in since once they started walking down the hallway they could hear Jack cursing at the top of his lungs and Felix taunting him with Dark and Anti laughing.

"Stop shooting turtle shells at me you-"

Felix froze mid sentence when he heard the door open and saw Marzia, Amy, and Signe watching them with amused expressions in the doorway.

"Hey Marzi." Felix waved sheepishly at her before returning his focus back to the game.

"Oh come on!" Felix groaned in annoyance as he struggled to catch up. Dark was in first, followed by Anti in third, Jack close behind Anti, and Felix in last.

"By all means, don't let me distract you." Signe smirked as she sat behind Jack and flung her arms around him, briefly kissing him on the lips.

"You're certainly not making it easy." Jack gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before gritting his teeth in determination as he managed to boost past Anti right before they crossed the finish line for the last lap.

"You cheated!" Anti pretended to pout as Dark did a small victory dance.

"You guys suck." Felix grumbled as Marzia squeezed his hand in consolation.

"Loser has to have a punishment! Raise your hand if you agree!" Dark decided.

Everyone but Felix raised his hand.

"I got a shock collar in my suitcase." Anti grinned mischievously, retrieving it from his suitcase under the bed.

"No way." Felix backed away while shaking his head.

"C'mon you baby!" Jack nudged Felix forward.

Felix reluctantly allowed Anti to put the collar on him while Dark held the remote.

"Out of all the stupid shit I've done, this is pretty high on the LIST!" Felix shouted the last word as Dark pressed a button in the remote.

"Why do you even have a shock collar?" Felix asked Anti as he rubbed his throbbing neck once the collar was removed.

"It probably didn't even hurt, he's just being a big bubble blowing baby." Anti scoffed teasingly.

"You try it then Mr. Tough Guy!" Felix thruster the collar towards Anti. Anti took it with an exaggerated eye roll, handing the remote to Felix.

Only when Felix pressed the button, Anti didn't even flinch.

Felix frowned and turned up the power, waiting for a reaction. Anti only smiled passively, his eyes gleaming in amusement as he glanced over at Dark.

"I think it's broken." Felix frowned as he started to take the collar off of Anti, nearly falling off of the bed when he touched the collar.

"Not broken not broken!" Felix yelped in pain.

"Like I said. Big. Bubble blowing. Baby." Anti taunted Felix once he deactivated the collar and took it off of him.

"We should probably try to get some sleep now since it's like two in the morning." Signe remarked.

"Probably a good idea."  Jack agreed.

"See you guys tomorrow then!" Dark and Anti waved goodbye to Signe, Marzia, Amy, and Felix as they walked back to their own rooms.

Amy changed into pjs and crawled into Mark's bed, feeling tears well up in her eyes when her her gaze landed on his infamous red and black flannel shirt flung across the pillow beside her.

She hugged it against her chest, breathing in his faint scent left over on it as she closed her eyes, praying that she would get some sleep.
