Okay guys! this is a new story that I have been working on for a while and I really hope you like the plot. (And yeah, The main character is kinda based off of me, and some of my original characters will be people I know in real life) So without further ado, please enjoy Tess the Project!

"I'm going to pick up daddy, I'll be home in about half an hour. Your brothers are at Aiden's house so your alone until then. I'm locking the doors" Tess's step-mom told her.

"Okay Megan. Can I have a snack?" Tess asked. She already knew what her answer was going to be though.

"Yeah. I'll be back soon, sweetie. Be good" Megan said. Tess nodded.

Megan walked out the door and locked it. Tess decided she would make a bowl of popcorn and read a bit. She got her favorite book, Keeper Of The Lost Cities, and sat down on the couch. She turned on the TV for background noise, put on her blue, wide-rimmed glasses and pushed back her multicolored hair behind her ear when she heard a knock at the door. She quietly got up and peeked out the window. There was a group of oddly familiar people on her front porch. They looked about her age. She decided to open the door and when she did, she did not expect what she saw.

"Hi, is this Tess Keegan's house?" The blonde girl asked. Tess nodded.

"Great. Finally we got the right house" the blonde boy said.

"Uh come inside" Tess said. She gestured for them to come inside. She noticed that they weren't wearing their regular clothes. They were dressed like humans.

"Oh, sorry. We should probably introduce ourselves. I'm-" the black haired boy started. He was cut off by Tess.

"Fitz Vacker. And your Keefe Sencen, Sophie Foster and Dex Dizznee. Is Biana vanished, by any chance?" Tess asked. Her question was answered when Biana appeared out of thin air.

"How did you know I could vanish?" Biana asked.

"More importantly, how did you know our names?" Keefe added.

Tess bit her lip and glanced at the book on her coffee table. The cover had Sophie, Keefe and Silveny on it. She snapped her fingers and the book disappeared without them noticing.

"That's besides the point. Why are you guys here?" Tess asked.

"We're here to tell you that-" Fitz started, but he was cut off again. This time, by the microwave beeping.

"Oh. I have to get that" Tess said. Then she snapped her fingers and the bag of popcorn appeared on the coffee table. She snapped again and a bowl appeared. She opened the bag with telekinesis and poured the contents into the bowl, all without touching the bag or bowl.

"Okay. As you were saying?" Tess said.

"You are an elf" Sophie said.

"I know that. I've been reading emotions since I was three, Minds since four, and when I was five, I snapped my fingers and things would just appear. I can also do this" Tess said. She breathed out and an icicle appeared in her hand.

"Okay. What other abilities do you have?" Keefe asked.

"Yeah, this is gonna sound weird, but I have all of the abilities" Tess said, sheepishly.

"Even pyrokinesis?" Fitz asked.

Yes. "No. And thank goodness. It is a forbidden talent" Tess said. They didn't need to know that she can create fire. That is her secret. Not even the council can know.

"Okay. Show us what you can do" Keefe said. She dissapeared. Then reappeared. Biana squealed. She didn't expected that. Then she blew into the air and created a mini tornado. She got rid of that and created Aurora Borealis in her living room. Then she spoke in Portuguese "I am a polyglot, too". She looked at her dog and the dog did a backflip. She walked through her coffee table.

"Well that was fun. I don't get to do that all the time and I have been waiting so long to be home alone to do everything. That's all I can do physically. Mentally I can't really show you. I'm also a technopath, empath, telepath, descreyer and inflictor. I'm pretty sure you don't want me to show you that one" Tess said.

"Okay, that was an overload. We need to get you to Everglen. I'll go call my dad" Fitz said. Tess showed him a place he could go and talk without neighbors seeing him. She turned to the rest of the group.

"Oh, Dex, I have something to show you" Tess said. She took Dex's hand and walked him over to her dad's office. It was filled with human technology. Dex's face lit up.

"This is so cool! What does he use this for? Can I use it?" Dex asked. Tess shook her head.

"He uses it for work. If we touch it, he'll know. Trust me, as a fellow technopath, I have to fight the urge everyday" Tess said. She led Dex back over to the rest of the group and Fitz walked back in.

"Okay. I have an extra nexus for you. We have to leap to Everglen. You can get a bag of some of your belongings." Fitz said. Tess nodded and went into her room.

She collected some jeans and a t-shirt, her sketch book, her phone, and the picture of her, her mom and her brother. Then she got the framed picture of her grandmother and grandfather. She exited her room and went into the kitchen to get the magnet with the picture of her, her brother and her dad. She put everything in her pale purple backpack. She also grabbed a calendar because she wanted to know when human holidays were coming up. Then she remembered something. She went back in her room and grabbed her Keeper Of The Lost Cities book and her clarinet. She stuffed the book deep in her bag and zipped it up. She had the clarinet case in her other hand. Sophie took her hand and Biana took her took her other wrist. Fitz took Keefe and Dex's hands and leapt them away with his home crystal. Biana did the same. She felt the feathery sensation that was described in the books and then they were standing in front of the golden gates. The boys were at the gate and Fitz was opening it to let them in. Oh my gods. I'm actually in Everglen right now Tess thought. It was even more grand than she expected. When she walked in she saw Della walking towards them, flickering in and out of sight.

"Hello Tess, it's so great to finally meet you. I'm Della" Della said.

"Hello Della. It's nice to meet you, too" Tess said.

"Let's take you to Alden. He needs to probe your mind. Don't freak out about that he just needs to search your mind telepathically" Della said. Tess just nodded.

Tess knew what everything was. She didn't need anything to be explained. But she had to play dumb. People would think she's reading their minds or stalking them and she didn't know if reading a book about someone was stalking them or not. So she just followed Della to Alden's office. She came alone. No one followed. When she got to the office, she braced for the sinking feeling, but it never came. The aquarium was there, but she must be used to it without even knowing. She readied herself for the worst news.

"Hello Tess. I'm Alden" Alden said. He had a smile on his face.

"Hello Lord Alden" Tess said with a curtsy.

"Please, no need for ceremony. Now, I need to try and probe your mind. Do you know what that means?" Alden asked.

"Yes, your wife explained it to me" Tess said.

Alden motioned for her to come closer and then he put his fingers on her temples. After pleading that he wouldn't get in, he pulled away.

"Well, your mind is impenetrable. Do you have any abilities?" Alden asked.

Impenetrable. No one will be able to know she is a pyrokinetic. That's good.

"Umm........I have all the abilities except pyrokinesis" Tess said. Alden's eyes widened.

"Do you mind showing me what you can do?" Alden asked. She simply nodded her head.

She transmitted to him I'm a telepath, walked through the chair, shot light into the air, blew into the air and created a tornado. She got rid of the light and tornado and held out her hand. An icicle grew on her palm. After getting rid of that, she used telekinesis to pick up the chair, then she snapped her fingers and the chair was back on the ground immediately. Then she disappeared. She knew how to prevent flickering in and out of sight. She reappeared and spoke in Japanese "I am a polyglot" she turned to the fish tank and looked at one of the fish. Then it started rolling over in the water and doing tricks. The fish stopped and she turned back to Alden. He was dumbfounded.

"I'm also a technopath, descreyer, inflictor and empath. I manifested empathy when I was three. It was my first ability. I found out I was an inflictor when I was playing with my pet hamster. I inflicted happy emotions on him and he started running around the cage. I have never used my abilities on or in front of humans and I found a way to block their thoughts from my head. Emotions, that was another problem. Is there anything else you want to see?" Tess asked.

"No that is quite enough. Come on, we need to take you to your Foxfire test. Did anyone explain that to you?" Alden asked. Tess nodded.

No one had. She knew it from the books. Committee of three, Bronte would probably be one of them. She just kept walking. When they got to the grand room, there were three councillors there. For a brief second she hoped Kenric would be one of them, but then she remembered what had happened. Instead she saw Oralie, Terik and of course, Bronte. Maybe I can be the one to impress him Tess thought. She curtsied and sat down next to Alden and stared Bronte in the eyes. She could be intimidating. Her brother was usually scared of her because she could hurt him. She wouldn't do that to a councillor. Although, she could hurt him bad with her abilities.

"What can you do little girl" Bronte asked with a sneer.

"I can do more than you have ever imagined. I have all abilities except pyrokinesis" Tess said with confidence.

Terik's face lit up. "I'll be able to mentor you in descreying" he said. Oralie smiled gently and asked for her hand. Tess held her hand out and Oralie held it in both of her hands.

"She's telling the truth" Oralie said. She released Tess hand. Not really. Mostly truth though she thought.

"Show me" Bronte said. His voice was hard, but he was feeling amused and eager. Yes. I got him where I want him she thought. Then she snapped her fingers and she was on the other side of the room.

She created light with her hands and shot it into the air, creating the northern lights. She transmitted to all of the councillors at the same time I am a telepath and she walked through the table. Then she disappeared. She reappeared and spoke in French "I am a polyglot" then she blew into the air and it started to snow on her. She blew once more and the snow began to whirl around, creating a snow tornado. She waved her hand and it was gone immediately. She smiled triumphantly.

"What are your mental abilities" Terik asked.

"Descreying, telepathy, empathy, technopathy, inflicting and mesmerizing" Tess said without hesitation.

"How does she know all of the abilities and their names?" Bronte asked. He was feeling suspicious.

"Sophie, Fitz, Keefe, Dex and Biana explained to me what they are called" Tess said with complete confidence. It was actually the books, but they didn't need to know that.

"How is your telekinesis?" Terik asked.

Without a word, the table was lifted into the air. It reached the ceiling then Tess snapped her finger. The table was back on the floor.

"That is truly amazing! I've never seen someone use telekinesis and conjuring together. You are a genius" Bronte said. Then he covered his mouth. Tess smirked. Alden was trying to hide his smile and the other Councillors were laughing.

"So, are we ready to score?" Alden asked, looking at Bronte. The Councillors nodded.

"She has my vote" Terik said.

"And mine" Oralie said.

"I think we all know what my vote is after my little outburst. I vote for" Bronte said. Tess was filled with excitement. Alden led the Councillors out and came back to get Tess.

"Come on. Sophie is going to take you to Elwin and you'll stay here the night. Everyone is staying here. Sophie can stay in the bedroom you stay in if you like. I have a feeling you guys will get along" Alden said. Tess just nodded.

Alden took her to the main room of Everglen and Sophie, Biana, Dex, Keefe and Fitz were all sitting there looking eager.

"Did you get in? How many votes?" Dex asked.

"I did get in. With three votes" Tess said. Then everyone screamed.

"That is amazing! How did you win Bronte over?" Sophie asked.

"It was actually quite easy. I could feel his emotions when I walked into the room and he was hopeful. I don't know why, but he was" Tess said. She was telling the truth.

"Come on. I'll take you to Elwin" Sophie said. Then they started walking in whatever direction.
