Shayam POV

"Hey man!" My friend Rick entered and I looked up from my screen.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Up for a drink?"

It's unusual for him to drink at day time. He's very professional and this is something he'd never do unless something is messing with his head.

"Everything ok?" I asked. I took my blazer form the hanger and collected my phone and wallet from the table.

I noticed his face going down.

"Is it buisness?" I asked out if curiosity.

"No dude. It's that girl" he said leaving a heavy breath out. We walked out of my office and waited for the lift. Pressing the button, I rechecked my schedule for the rest of the day.

"Sir" Just as I was about to talk to him, I sae my secretary running towards me.

"There's a meeting at the conference hall within an hour" she reminded me.

"Cancel it and reschedule it next week. Make sure I have no plans till this weekend" I said remembering I have to prepare for my mother's birthday. It's her 50 birthday and I want it to be special for her.

"Ok sir" she left and we entered the lift.

"Is it the girl you saw at the airport?"

"Yes, I met her on the way to my hotel. She was in a car wearing white wedding dress. I followed her and the car went straight to the church. She was getting married and I couldn't stay there any second longer" he said and I was beyond shocked.

He saw this girl at the airport in New York. That was love at first sight. He tried hard to find her all over New York and even other places. He set up his own searching team and asked us and all his friends for her. Finally here he gets to see her getting married to another guy. It must be painful.

I'm not that kind of guy who falls for a girl. According to me love doesn't exist for me. But I do believe true love exists but that's not true for me. You get it?

I have seen hundreds of girls kissing my feet because of my looks or my money. Some even are jealous of my status in the society. I think I'll never find someone who's willing to accept me even when I don't have a single penny.

"Dude just let it go"

"It's not that easy. I may sound like a fool. Seeing that girl for about 10 minutes and I'm already in love with her. But that's how love works. You don't know when it happens. For me it was magical until now" he sounded very low.

We reached the car and I took his keys from him.

"It's ok. Just let it go. Focus of yourself now. Maybe whatever happens is for good" I tried to convince him through I know whatever I said now doesn't make any sense to him.

"Yeah whatever. I need to drink and get drunk till she's out of head"

"Then let's get you drunk"

We started from my office and I drive straight to the private club. It was a few kilometres from here and we reached in no time.

Getting inside the private room, Rick went straight to the bar counter and picked up a bottle of vodka. Filling his shots, we both drank and he was totally wasted.

"Like and love always get you hurt. Don't fall into the trap dude" he started speaking tipsy and I know he's gonna pass out soon.

Soon he was fast asleep and I decided to sleep there too accompanying him after I text my mom that I have to stay at my friend's place to work on a project. I can't tell her about this.

Next day

Opening my eyes, I saw my phone ringing.

12 missed calls from my PA
5 from mom
3 from Arjun

Quickly scanning around the room, I woke Rick up. Hurrying I rushed to my apartment. I own a small apartment at the end of the city. Sometimes when I need a gateway I call over my friends and we all hang out here.

Taking a shower and changing my clothes, I reached my office.

"Sir I was calling you since morning to let you know that we got a proposal for a collaboration on the new import and export buisness"

"Who's that? Mail me all the details" I said and dived into the pile of work. After this I have to check on Rick too.

Suddenly my phone rang and it's Arjun.

"Hey buddy! Where were you last night?"

"With Rick"

"I just heard from him. Do you think we need to have a boy's vacay?"

"Sure, let me know the place and duration.ill reschedule my plans" I said.

"Ok, I'll check with Rick and let you know"

"Yeah bye"

I was working on the next contract of mine and my PA mailed me the details.

Again!
What does he want from me this time?

I need to know why is he so into getting in a partnership with me after I practically rejected and threw a punch at him!

There is something mysterious about this man! Need to find that out.

Taking my phone out, I called someone.

"Yes Shayam?"

"Find all details about Armaan Sheikh. All his personal information and his dealings in the recent months. His buisness empire and his important people, just everything" It's my private investigator.

"Ok, it'll take 5 days tops. Once done, I'll send it to your PA" he said.

"No,I don't want anything else into this. Just meet me in person and give me the file"

"Will do"

I ended the call.
