Chapter Thirty Six

Tan Soo Mi

I was a bit more smiley and happy after that, and no one had guessed why. I sighed softly as I was sorting out next missions and such until someone came up behind me and rested his head in the crook of my neck.

"They invited me to stay for food." He smiled softly.

"Don't come up behind me like that, it could have been anyone..." I mumbled quietly, paranoid.

"I'm sorry~" he hummed quietly.

"It's okay." I smiled and lifted his head before spinning the chair around and he stood there with tousled hair, a smile on his lips. "Why did you come up here anyway?"

"To see you mainly." His smile faltered.

"What's up?" I stood up and slid my hands into his.

"I'm going away..." he whispered quietly. "Me and the whole of Bangtan. For a rather long time."

"How long do you mean by, 'long time'?" With that the smile fell from my face.

"A few months at least." He looked towards the floor. "Business in other countries, we don't know how long it will take or if all of us will return."

A small sigh left my lips and I cupped his face gently, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"When do you go...?"

"Tomorrow."

I took a shaky breath and went up on my tiptoes and gently kissed him softly, our lips moulding together almost perfectly if it weren't for the hesitation behind it.

"I love you." I pulled away gently, and I did. Ever since he had helped me through the period of time that I got out of hospital until now.

"I love you too." His voice was quiet. Tears were brimming his eyes. "But please don't say that again, it will make this too hard to leave."

"I don't want you to go..." I whimpered quietly, holding his eyes. He gulped softly, resting his forehead against mine.

"I don't want to go, trust me. But I have to." He mumbled quietly.

I woke up early the next morning tangled in sheets. It should have been a full bed, but instead it only held me within it. I sat up, the sun only just creeping through the small gap in my curtains as the tears fell.

"You promised I'd have you..." I whispered quietly, pulling the sheets up to cover me. Pulling my knees to my chest as a form of weakness, as a form of comfort. "But you've left me, just like everybody else!" My voice grew louder.

No one replied, no one was around. They had all gone out partying and probably went back to Mi Ra's place knowing Taehyung was meant to be staying the night.

"You fucking promised me!" I yelled getting angry at being so weak, being so hurt.

That man took my everything. That man broke down walls. That man saved me when I couldn't be saved.

But that man hurt me more than anyone ever could. That man broke me when nobody should. That man changed me.

That man was Kim Taehyung, my first love, yet my first heart break.

But I was Tan Soo Mi.

And I had a city to rule.
