PERSONALITY Joyce is an eerily calm person. She's never been expressive, she's not inclined to talk much, and she's not very inclined towards typical royal duties. She's inclined towards reading her books and dreaming about the countryside.

BACKSTORY Joyce was born on July 17th, 1541, to Katherine Howard and Henry VIII. Her mother was executed before she was even a year old, so she grew up in the car of Catherine Parr, Anna of Cleves, and other assorted maids and junk idk man. From a young age, she was very distant, never talking much about anything to anyone, though she was particularly close with her sister, Eleanor. She was six when her father died, though she didn't care much at all, having called him the devil as he lay on his deathbed.

After that, life went on, her brother and two of her sisters took the throne, all that. Whenever one of them was on the throne, she'd just go with whatever policies they'd implemented, and tell them that she'd rather die than be on the throne. She was believed and Mary I removed her from the line of succession, actually per Joyce's request. When Elizabeth became queen, she was asked if she wanted to be reinstated, but Joyce declined.

On her twentieth birthday, Joyce simply decided she was done with England. She told Eleanor she was leaving and got on a boat to Cessca. She was accepted as a royal guest in the Cesscan court, which was much less formal than home. As such, Joyce decided she would stay. It was here she met Princess Stelliette, the heir to the Cesscan throne, but, a year into Joyce's stay, she decided she didn't want to be queen, passing it off to her younger brother. She decided she wanted to retreat to the countryside and she requested that some handmaids come with her. Joyce volunteered to be one of the maids and went with Stelliette and twenty-four others to the Cesscan northern countryside. Joyce was still very much treated like royalty, just toned down per her request.

Joyce and Stelliette became close friends there. Two years there, Stelliette ultimately confessed her love for Joyce, who told her she did not feel the same way, but highly valued her as a friend. Stelliette understood and ultimately ended up falling for another handmaid, Jane. Joyce would die on October 11th, 1561, due to smallpox. Stelliette would give her a state funeral.
