We had made it to where the other students had gathered.

We looked around at the crowd of people.

It was a big gathering....so many students.

"Ruby, Y/n, I saved ya a spot" Yang shouted from across the crowd.

"Oh, hey we gotta go, we'll see you after the ceremony" Ruby said.

"Bye Jaune" I said.

We went to Yang.

"How's your first day going little sister" Yang asked.

"You mean since you ditched me and I exploded" Ruby said.

"Yikes, meltdown already" Yang said.

"No I literally exploded a hole in front of the school and there was some fire and I think some ice" Ruby said.

Yang smiled.

"Are you being sarcastic" Yang asked Ruby before looking at me.

I shook my head.

"I wish, I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage and then she yelled at me and then I sneezed and then exploded and then she yelled again and I felt really really bad and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me" Ruby said.

"YOU" Weiss shouted from behind me.

"Oh god it's happening again" Ruby said jumping into Yang's arms.

"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff" Weiss said.

Yang's face changed to shocked.

"Oh my god you really exploded" Yang said.

"It was an accident, it was an accident" Ruby said.

Weiss held a booklet in front of Ruby's face that said 'Dust for dummies'.

"What's this" Ruby asked.

"The Schnee dust company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee dust company product, although not mandatory the Schnee family highly encourages our customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust application and practice in the field" Weiss said really fast, I actually had to slow down the playback for it to be understood clearly.

Ruby was confused.

"You really want to start making things up to me" Weiss asked.

"Absolutely" Ruby said.

"Read this and don't ever speak to me again" Weiss said handing her the booklet.

I signaled Yang to intervene.

"Look uh, it sounds like you two just got off on the wrong foot, why don't you start over and try to be friends ok" Yang said.

"Yeah great idea sis, hello Weiss I'm Ruby, want to hang out, we could go shopping for school supplies" Ruby said.

"Yeah and we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys like tall blonde and scraggly over there" Weiss said sarcastically as she pointed to Jaune

"Wow really" Ruby asked.

Weiss looked at her frustrated.

"No" Weiss answered.

Ruby became sad.

We then saw Ozpin using the microphone.

"I'll...keep this brief, you've traveled here in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people, but I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose, direction, you assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at the school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far, it is up to you to take the first step" Ozpin said.

Glynda then took the microphone.

"You will gather at the ballroom tonight, tomorrow your initiation begins, be ready, you are dismissed" Glynda said.

"He seemed kinda off" Yang said.

"It's almost like he wasn't even there" Ruby said.

We then saw Jaune come next to Weiss.

"I'm a natural blonde you know" Jaune said.

Weiss put her hand on her head in annoyance.

Everyone was readying for sleep in the ballroom.

Ruby was next to me, writing in her notebook.

"It's like a big slumber party" Yang said crashing next to us.

"I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though, no offense Y/n" Ruby said.

"None taken, it's understandable" I said.

"I know I do" Yang said.

She purred at the sight of all the shirtless boys.

Then she saw Jaune come along in a full pajama suit, she didn't like it.

"What's that" Yang asked Ruby.

"A letter to the gang back at Signal, I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going" Ruby said.

"Aww that's so cute" Yang cooed.

Ruby threw a pillow at Yang.

"Shut up, I didn't get to take my friends with me to school, it's weird not knowing anyone here" Ruby said.

"You know me, that's got to be good right" I asked.

Ruby smiled a bit.

"What about Jaune, he's...nice, there you go, plus two friends, that's a 100% increase" Yang said as I gave a thumbs up.

"Pretty sure Weiss counts as negative friend" Ruby said sadly.

I gave Ruby a head pat.

"You still have a point on positive, so that's got to be atleast a little lifting" I said.

A small shade of pink appeared of Ruby's face.

"There's no such thing as negative friends, you just made two friends and one enemy" Yang said.

Ruby threw another pillow at Yang.

"Look it's only been one day, trust e, you've got friends all around you, you just haven't met them yet" Yang said.

We then noticed a fire coming from...the black haired girl from before.

"That girl" Ruby said.

"You know her" Yang asked.

"Not really, she saw what happened this morning but left before I could say anything" Ruby said.

"Well now's your chance" Yang said.

She began dragging Ruby towards the black haired girl.

"Wait what are you doing" Ruby asked.

I followed them.

The girl noticed us.

"Hello, I believe you two may know each other" Yang sung.

"Aren't you that girl that exploded...and the metal boy" Blake asked us.

"Uh yeah, my name's Ruby...but you can just call me crater-actually you can just call me Ruby, and this is Y/n" Ruby said as I waved.

"Okay" The black haired girl said.

The situation seemed awkward.

"What are you doing" Yang whispered to Ruby.

"I don't know help me" Ruby whispered back.

They both looked back at the black haired girl.

"So what's your name" Yang asked.

The black haired girl sighed.

"Blake" She answered.

"Well Blake I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister, I like your bow" Yang said.

"Thanks" Blake said getting annoyed.

"It goes great with your...pajamas" Yang said.

The situation felt more awkward.

"Right..." Blake said.

The sisters muttered amongst themselves.

"Yeah, nice night don't you think" Yang asked.

"Yes, it's lovely, almost as lovely as this book..." Blake said.

The sisters stared at her.

"That I will continue to read..." Blake said.

I watched them as they continued to stare.

"As soon as you leave" Blake said.

"Yeah this girl's a lost cause" Yang said.

"What's it about" Ruby asked.

Blake looked up.

"Your book, does it have a name" Ruby asked.

"Well it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body" Blake asked.

"Oh yeah that's real lovely" Yang asked.

Ruby stepped forward.

"I love books, Yang used to read to me every night before bed, stories of heroes and monsters, they're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress" Ruby said.

"Why's that, hoping you'll live happily ever after" Blake asked.

"Well I'm hoping we all will, as a girl I just wanted to be just like those heroes in the books as someone who fought for what was right and who protected people who couldn't protect themselves" Ruby said.

I gave a quiet clap.

"That's very ambitious for a child, unfortunately the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale" Blake said.

I know first hand about that...

"Well that's why we're here, to make it better" Ruby said.

Yeah...we will!

"Oh I'm so proud of my baby sister" Yang said hugging Ruby.

Ruby tried getting her off, then they began fighting.

"Ruby, Yang, Y/n, it's a-" Blake said.

"What in the world is going on over here, don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep" Weiss asked.

"OH NOT YOU AGAIN" Yang and Weiss said in sync.

"Guys she's right, people are trying to sleep" Ruby said.

I just watched them rant at each other.

"Oh now you're on my side" Weiss said.

"I was always on your side" Ruby said.

"Yeah what's your problem with my sister, she's only trying to be nice" Yang asked.

"She's a hazard to my health" Weiss said.

Blake blew out her candles, most likely to get some sleep.

They continued to rant, so I intervened...via a giant scythe.

I made a large scythe blade that was aimed at all three girls' necks.

"Ladies, people are trying to sleep, let's not shout, and let's head to bed" I said.

They stared at the blade in fear, not Ruby though she was staring in awe.

"Fine" Weiss scoffed as she walked away.

I drew away the scythe.

I walked with Ruby and Yang back to our spots.

As we sat back down I remembered about the world not being fairy tale like, and it reminded me of my past/future.

"Ruby..." I said.

"Yes Y/n" Ruby asked semi-tired.

"Remember about what Blake said..about the world not being a fairy tale...it reminded me of-" I said before Ruby cutting me off.

"I know Y/n, you may have had a troubling past, but remember that you helped John Connor and the others, they'll be fine without you" Ruby said.

I looked down.

"Yeah I know but...I know first-hand that the world isn't like a happy ending...it may end up like mine did some day" I said.

I felt her grab my hand and pull me into a hug.

"Ruby, what are you doing" I asked.

"I'm giving you a hug, when a friend is upset you give them hugs to make them feel better...and consider it a thank you...for being my friend" Ruby said with a smile.

"I...I would smile but I suck at it" I said.

"Oh I'm sure you don't" Ruby said.

I tried to smile, it made her laugh.

"Nevermind, you're kinda bad at it...let me help you" Ruby said.

She grabbed my face and made a smile out of it.

"There...now try doing that" She said as she let go.

I analyzed where she put her hands and so I attempted to copy it.

"Now that's a happy smile" Ruby said hugging me.

I hugged back.

When I tried to break the hug she stopped me.

"A-Actually...could you stay hugging me...it's kinda cold in here and you're very warm" Ruby asked.

I smiled, which made her smile.

"Very well" I said.

I then felt Yang hug me from behind.

"Don't leave me Yanging, I'm cold too...plus dad would be super mad if he found out you hugged a boy and let him sleep with you" Yang said attempting to blackmail Ruby.

"Yang...fine" Ruby huffed.

I let the two sisters hug me as they slept.

I measured my temperature to make sure I was making them warm.

As they slept I began making practice simulations to make myself prepared for initiation.
