Chapter 16
(This chapter is basically the story of the Predator so feel free to skip this chapter if you want)
<Y/n p.o.v.>
Ika and I were sitting down exchanging info.
For example he told me everything that's happened recently on Earth.
Things such as the current president, how the world has changed, and some funny yet inappropriate jokes.
Right now thee two of us were laughing.
"Ok ok, so these 'Karens' are humorous to you" I asked.
"I do find them amusing. They're not sport worthy but they do some weird things, like one of them wasn't allowed to come inside and so she licked the glass on the door just to be disgusting" Ika said with a laugh.
I laughed to.
"Other than that, tell me about yourself, like what's your story and how did it lead here" I asked.
"You tell me yours first, a sign of trust as I know nothing about you yet I'm supposed to be on your team" He said.
I sat myself up.
"Alright I'll tell you..." I said.
I looked him straight in the eyes as I mentally prepare myself.
"You might not believe me but I come from the future. I arrived here from a timeline that's ravaged by war, humans and machines fighting endlessly. I was created by an AI that saw humans as a threat and had to be eliminated. After nuclear weapons destroyed most of the population Skynet created soldiers to finish the job, affectionately called Terminators" I said.
"And if you're one of these 'Terminators' then why do you fight for humanity, were you reprogrammed" He asked.
"No, whilst that is possible due to the lack of anti-hack software on other models I gained sentience without being reprogrammed. I learned that the path of the machines isn't set for me, I could decided my own path. With my newfound path I set out to destroy Skynet and all of the machines, and on during my conquest I found the leader of the humans. With his help we both dealt heavy blows against Skynet and once my help was no longer needed they took my data to help with their quest and set me to a random timeline so I could live my life away from Skynet, however it appears I went from war against machines to war against beasts. With the current state of the world I decided to become a warrior for this planet, protector of it's people, and keeper of the peace" I said.
I placed my hand on my chest.
"This world is now under my protection, and no matter what happens to me I will make sure that this world and all of it's inhabitants are safe" I said.
Ika clapped slowly.
"Wonderful story I'm sure, but things happen that can change your dreams forever. Be it the world or those on it they can change everything" He said.
"I know, which is why I plan to...well plan around that. Now any questions" I said.
"So if you were just a machine then how come you have a name" He asked.
"The leader of the resistance, John Connor gave me my name. He decided that a machine that thinks and acts like a human that also helps humans should be given a human name. The name he gave me once belonged to a young man with a similar dream to mine. From what I know he was a soldier who gave his life defending a massive group of human survivors. His efforts allowed not only additional soldiers to fight for humanity, he also allowed a massive stockpile of supplies to be delivered, allowing humanity to live to fight another day. His sacrifice struck a critical blow to Skynet and was forever remembered by the resistance" I said.
I turned to him.
"Anything else" I asked.
"No that'll be it for my questions" He said.
"What does your name mean, or the story behind it" I asked.
"Well Ikagaki is the name I had when I was born, Kujin was the name I had growing up, and Cross was developed when I started my adventure for a clan" He said.
I then pointed to him as I stood on a chair.
"NOW MY FRIEND, YOU SHALL REGALE YOUR TALE TO ME" I said.
He tilted his head in confusion.
He then spoke in another language as he shook his head.
"Pardon me, but what did you just say" I asked.
"I called you a weird machine in my native language" He said with a chuckle.
"Speaking of native..." I said as I leaned closer.
"I'll tell my tale just stop staring at me like that" He said.
A cheeky smile grew on my face.
"Sit down, and wipe that smile off your face" He ordered.
I sat down quietly.
"Ok...well I guess I should start with my birth considering you started with yours" He said.
I was getting excited listening to his story.
"I was born on Earth like any other human, in a small and quiet town. However a few days later my village was attacked by bandits. As the town burned and the humans ran I was left for dead by my parents, who immediately died after leaving me, so jokes on them. As the bandits killed the rest of the town I was shortly hunted down. Before I could be killed the bandit's head exploded. As the others investigated they were cut down by an invisible foe. One by one they fell, and one by one they became trophies to their assailant" He said.
"Just like you did with the White Fang in the warehouse" I said.
"Indeed, once no one was left the assailant returned to me. They looked at me with curiosity. Instead of the assailant killing me...she adopted me" He said.
"Wait 'she" I asked in confusion.
He nodded.
"You heard right, it was a she. She decided to adopt me instead of killing me. I could've been left for dead but as it appeared the one who found me never had children, so she decided to raise me as her own. She took me back to her home-planet Yautja Prime, home of the Yautja. The Chief of her clan tried to say no but she convinced him to let me stay, for instead of thinking me as some random thing she found she told him to think of me as her trophy for her successful hunt" He said.
"Trophies, like the skulls you have" I asked.
"Something like that. Basically in my culture we collect skulls from those who are worthy kills. Similar cultures exist on Earth, where the most trophies get the most respect. And for a successful hunt she was allowed to have me as a 'trophy" He said.
So he must have a lot of respect then, I'll shall honor him as such.
"Anywho once I was old enough I was allowed to go on my first hunt, which is really important to becoming a full hunter. Honestly it was more of an excuse to get rid of me but hey, I saw it as an opportunity. I wasn't alone in this endeavor, for two other hunters would accompany me on their first hunt too" He said.
"What were you hunting" I asked.
He stood up and walked away.
When he came back he held a skull in his hands.
It wasn't from Earth that's for sure.
"What is that" I asked.
"We call them Serpents. They have been dubbed our greatest and most worthy of kills. Acidic blood, spear like tail, second mouth that can pierce through helmets and claws that can tear you to shreds. They are not to be trifled with" He said.
He placed the skull down next to him.
"We made it to a large hive which used to be a temple. It was riddled with these serpents, but something larger lurked within the bowels of this place, the Queen" He said.
He then pointed to a larger version of the skull, only this one had a massive crest.
"We knew what lurked within and we had been training for years and when we were at the summit of our initiation...the other two hunters pussed out" He said.
"They left" I asked.
"Yeah, and in our culture that means death. Failing to complete a hunt results in the suicide of the one who failed to complete it. However, some cowards prefer to live in obscurity rather than die. This is considered to be dishonorable and suicide is then 'assisted' by an Enforcer" He said.
Hunt or die...either way it means possible death.
"Once the others left I went in alone. After a while I made my way to the deepest part of the hive, and there I met the queen. I fought her with all that my training offered and more. I took her head for my own and I was no longer unblooded, I was now a full hunter which comes with a few perks. Not only do I get respect, full hunters do get the attention of 'others' if you catch my drift" He said.
"What happened to the other two hunters that joined you" I asked.
"Well one of them killed himself to restore his honor whilst the other one tried to run away. Unfortunately he was immediately apprehended and was slain without honor" He said.
Honor must be great importance to them...to him!
"Obviously my mother was very proud of me but forget all that. You wanted to know how I got here right" He said
"Yes please" I said.
"Well then I'd have to go all the way over to...my exile, and the details behind it" He said sadly.
He was exiled?
"One day we found and captured some Bad Bloods" He said.
"What's a Bad Blood" I asked.
"A Bad Blood basically is a Yautja that has turned against it's own kind and severely violated aspects of the Yautja Honor Code, in fact they are no longer considered Yautja. The Honor code is a set of rules that govern the day to day interactions of Yautja as well as during hunts. Anywho, we found a few Bad Bloods and during their time there one of them was in his mating cycle and so in his aggressive lustful state he escaped and tried to find a suitable mate which unfortunately was my mother. Before he could do anything to her I intervened and lured him into an arena. The two of us fought despite being at a disadvantage because of his strength. I was badly wounded but I continued to fight him, if I didn't he would go after my mother. As I fought him another Bad Blood arrived at the scene, she escaped with him. Honestly I thought she was going to fight me as well but instead she threw an axe to me for she was trying to help me" He said.
She helped him?
"Which I was very thankful for because the Bad Blood-you know what I'll call him George, George was charging at me with a ball and chain. Once he launched the ball at me I threw a large rock at it, throwing it off course. As George tried to recover from the sudden change in direction I charged at him. He tried to grab me but I threw the axe at his head, as he began stumbling backwards I jumped onto him and yanked the axe that was lodged into his head, flipping over him and ripping his head and spine out of his body, in other words I gained a new trophy" He said.
As the internet says "DO A FLIP!"
"With that new trophy I presented it to the Chief to show that the threat was over. Once all was said and done I checked on my mother to see if he did anything, thankfully nothing happened to her. As for the one who saved me I thanked them, then handed the trophy to her" He said.
"Why" I asked.
"Because she assisted me with killing George, and if it wasn't for her assistance George would've continued rampaging. So I considered it to be a joint kill, a sign of good faith, respect, and appreciation" He said.
"What happened next" I asked.
He looked down and...shivered?
I scanned him and saw his entire body shiver after I asked the question.
"The Chief and I...we get along at all. So when he found out the Bad Blood who helped me-who I found out was called Ursine-he offered her a choice. She could live in exile or she could rejoin a clan that can restore her honor with his blessing and a boon" He said.
"What'd she choose" I asked.
He shivered more.
"She wanted to join the one who she fought with so she chose to join the clan. As for the boon...well as it turned out it was her mating season too, so she chose to satiate that...through me. And as you don't know Yautja mating is very dangerous, especially for someone who's a human" He said.
If this was a DustTube video there'd probably be an edit about war flashbacks.
"So after a very long and painful night of...'bonding' she joined the clan. Also surprisingly enough she decided to want to stay with me...in a romantic sort of way" He said.
"Why is that surprising" I asked.
"Because the Yautja aren't interested in lifelong relationships. I think that they're a polygamous species so you know....multiple partners for sex basically. So seeing one want a romantic relationship was surprising" He said.
"And you both became a happy couple" I said.
He looked at me and laughed.
He kept laughing and laughing.
"Oh by the ancients no, quite the opposite. Because I didn't understand relationships at the time I kept rejecting her efforts of love. She kept trying to make me love her but I didn't know how to. After my exile I found some interesting stuff" He said.
"Like what" I asked.
"Remember how I said the Chief and I didn't get along, well it turns out he tried to have me killed. He offered Ursine and my Mother a choice, Ursine would be given a high rank in the clan whilst the Chief would give my Mother her own child, and in return they would assist him with killing me" He said.
I placed my hand on his shoulder, he gently touched it then took it off him.
"At the time I had no idea of this plot but after an incident that day I began to soften up to Ursine. So hearing that The Chief, my Mother, Ursine and I were going hunting I saw it as an opportunity to accept Ursine's love. When we made it to the planet we were going to hunt I found it odd considering the planet had no known life, and that was when they decided to strike. Ursine grabbed me and threw me into a wall. When I got back up she tried to stab me with her spear along with the Chief. I used my blades to knock them away and I shot a plasma blast at them. They dodged it and watched as I tried getting away. I made it to the escape pods when my mother began fighting me. As I fought her with tears clouding my vision Ursine attacked me with her club in her hand. As I tried defending myself the Chief kicked me near an escape pod. I asked why they were doing this but I was met with my mother shooting me in the side. Thankfully I was knocked into the escape pod but I was bleeding out. Even as the pod fell to the planet they kept shooting at me, even managed to hit the pod. As I crashed into the planet I landed into a desert. I looked up at the night sky and I cried under the light of the planet's two moons. My tears were soaked up in the sand underneath me. As I looked at my wound I noticed the amount of blood that leaked from me. Using a piece of burning wreckage I seared the wound close, nearly passing out from the pain in the process" He said.
He took off his armor and showed me a sear mark on his side.
"As I walked through the desert I saw many great sights, here let me show you" He said.
A hologram appeared showing images of environments.
"After 3 days of endless walking I found shelter...a temple" He said.
"I was weak and I needed somewhere to stay. I barely made it through the lightning storm alone, so I was skeptical as to what remained in the temple. However as I entered inside I noticed the markings on the walls. As I went further into the temple hoping to find some armor and supplies I ended up in a chamber. As it appears the temple was also the home of an ancient clan of Yautja. I wandered around and eventually made it to a throne room of sorts. I wanted to explore more but due to my weakened state I passed out, the last thing I saw was a large figure" He said.
"Were you killed" I asked.
"Sadly yes...BUT I LIVED" He said.
-_-
"When I awoke I found myself being treated by what appeared to be an Elder Predator. He explained that when I passed out he patched me up. I honestly felt bad for wasting his time on me but he didn't care. When I was patched up we both walked back into the throne room. I wanted to know what happened to the Yautja that lived here. He told me that his clan was long dead, no other members were alive except him. He wanted to die so he could be free from his mantle of responsibility but he also wanted to see his clan flourish once more. When I was asked as to what happened to me I told him my story. After telling him my story we both realized something, our goals were the same. I wanted to rejoin a clan and he wanted his clan to flourish. As we both realized this he decided to make me part of his clan. He trained me in ways I never would've experience in my old clan. New techniques, fighting styles, and more were revealed to me. After a few years of extreme training I was ready for something great, but also something sad" He said.
"What was it" I asked.
"My next test was to tame and command lightning. In order for me to become a high rank of the clan I would have to control the lightning that surrounded the temple. I tried for many days and kept being unsuccessful. The Elder thought I couldn't do it and he called me weak. I wanted to prove him wrong, so I kept trying. One day I tried it and failed, and I kept trying until I got struck by lighting, surprisingly I didn't die so...dodged a bullet there. I wanted to give up but I noticed that a nearby spear was conducting the lightning and making it flow towards the ground. I thought about using my wrist blades like that in my test. I climbed to the top of the temple and I held my blades towards the sky. I roared as loudly as I could until the lightning struck me. Normally I would be blasted away but I held my ground and eventually I controlled the lightning. It remained in my control, which made the Elder very happy" He said.
I clapped.
"Don't clap just yet, this is where it gets sad" He said.
I stopped clapping.
"The reason he wanted me to tame lightning wasn't just to rank up, but because it was leading to my final test...the command of the clan" He said.
0.0
"Now that I was ready to take leadership of the clan the Elder decided it was time for the next generation of hunters to lead the clan. My final test was to be a duel to the death" He said.
OoO
"When it was time for me to fight him I was given a new armor to use since my old one was now useless. I was also given new gear to use and he did something I've never heard of...he used a machine to give some of his DNA into me, which would give me the body of a human but the warrior's might and the abilities of the Yautja, thus making me ready to fight him" He said.
"And that's when you fought him correct" I asked.
He nodded.
"Our battle was fierce, two heavily armed warriors fighting neck and neck, tooth and claw. After a long and vicious battle I eventually struck the fatal blow. Whilst my wounds would heal his wouldn't...he was dying. With his last breaths he told a death prayer among our clan" He said.
"What was it" I asked.
"The rough translation reads...Souls of old, warriors of great yonder, may my soul rejoin you once more, and become honor-bound to fight the Black Hunter for all eternity" He said.
If I had to guess the Black Hunter is their version of the Grim Reaper.
"What happened next after you became leader" I asked.
"After giving the Elder the greatest of burials I decided to make a legend of myself. Going around making great kills, meeting and making allies, and when it was ready for me to go out to get some members I decided that along the way I would gain more experience, and that's when I found Remnant...and here I am" He said.
I applauded him.
"Encore encore" I said.
He chuckled.
"Now do YOU have any questions" He asked.
"Only about your new DNA. Your body contains a different type of blood along with your skin containing quills and patterns, is there anything else you have" I asked.
"Well I'm a lot stronger than the average human. I can jump further, run longer and faster than them, and I can mimic voices along with a few more abilities" He said.
"Is there anything you consider bad" I asked.
He made a scowl.
"The clicking...I make clicking noises out of nowhere and it's so annoying. Imagine in class whilst we're doing a test then all of a sudden...CLICK CLICK CLICK" He said with a facepalm.
He made some clicking noises as he groaned.
"I don't see it as a bad thing, I see it as a...unique thing. So what if you click or not, you're still capable of punching people's lights out, like Cardin earlier today when he tried to attack you-" I said.
"And I punched him so hard he fell out of consciousness" He said.
"So don't think on the bad stuff, think on the good stuff you got" I said.
He smirked.
"You honestly seem to inspire a lot of people huh" He said.
"I try" I said.
"Well...damn what time is it" He asked.
He pressed on his wrist computer and it showed a hologram of some symbols.
"Shit I thought that went longer it's only been an hour" He said.
"What are those symbols" I asked.
He turned to me.
"I forgot you can't understand it" He said.
I wrapped my arms around his legs as I knelt at his feet.
"Please teach me your language, your culture, everything" I pleaded.
He was surprised by my pleading, this much could be said as his heart rate spiked.
"W-What" He asked.
"I want you to teach me everything you know" I said.
"Why" He asked.
"I think after all you've experienced perhaps something of your culture could give you a sense of home, making your stay here on Remnant more bearable" I said.
He stared at me in shock.
As I scanned him I noticed multiple anomalies.
For starters he was speechless, in a state of shock, massive heart spike, and a few other things.
"I...I have no idea on what to say" He said.
"How about something like 'I would love to teach you, and if you want you can teach me your stuff too" I said.
"S-Sure...when did you wanna start" He said.
"How about now, the night is very early" I said.
He nodded and walked over to a machine.
He pressed a few buttons on it and it began whirring.
"What does that do" I asked.
The machine then released some fluid into a cup, the cup was then grabbed by Ika.
I scanned the cup, it had an unknown composition of chemicals.
"What is that, does it give you some secret strength. Some focusing agent" I asked.
"I guess you can call this space coffee" He said.
"Oh...ok then" I said kinda disappointed.
"Yeah, instead of coffee beans I'm using a fruit" He said as he sipped his drink.
He sat down.
"Now let's get to business" He said.
