Chapter Fifteen
The car swerved down the road and weaved through traffic. The other cars honked angrily and tried to get out of the way. Blitzwing narrowed his eyes and continued to drive crazily. He had to stop his father from killing innocent people again. They had both agreed to change their lives around. His expression softened a little and he stared at the road.
They hadn't heard from Steeljaw since that night. He had just vanished and it broke their hearts. Blitzwing wanted his brother to come back and change his ways. Though he didn't even know if he was doing something wrong or not. Did his father go back to crime to try and find his son? It didn't make sense. Who was on the hit list? Everything that betrayed him?
That meant Optimus and his family were in danger, Ratchet and his family, Soundwave, Heatwave, Chief Burns, and practically everyone else.
His smile became sad as he thought about Ratchet's daughter. She had been trying to help him get back into life, help him learn how to be normal. Remind him to take his medication when he was down. She was a great friend and they had gotten close. But that's all she would ever be to him. A friend. She and Knockout were in a relationship already. He couldn't break them apart like that. It would be horrible for the medic.
He shook his head and continued to drive to the safe house. His dad had lived there ever since the bomb went off. It was the safest place for him and Beta.
Blitzwing chuckled to himself and rolled his eyes. He wanted those two to get married and just admit they loved each other. They could be so stubborn.
He wished Soundwave knew about them though. But he didn't know how the young man would take it. He knew his mother was alive and that seemed to be enough for him. It was hard to keep that secret from him and his brother.
The young man soon got to the hideout and quickly went inside. He narrowed his eyes as he looked for his father. He heard Beta talking in the other room and went to the kitchen.
"-but no, you had to go off and leave them out in the sun to wither away and die." She said bitterly as she chopped up some vegetables. "That is not how you make sun dried tomatoes. There's a process and I don't want all my vegetables shriveled up." She grumbled.
"Um... Beta? Who are you talking to?" Blitzwing asked as he looked around the empty room. She looked at him and furrowed her brow.
"Your father of course. I don't talk to myself." She said seriously and the young man raised an eyebrow. She looked around the room and scoffed in disbelief. "Oh, he did not walk off while I was talking to him." She growled as she put the knife down. She took off her apron and stormed off to the back door. They him kneeling in the garden as he weeded it.
"Megatron Francis Duncan!" She shouted angrily and put her hands on her hips. The said man furrowed his brow and looked at her.
"That's not my middle name, nor my last name. I don't have a middle name." He said seriously.
"Well you should so you know when I'm mad at you!" She scoffed as he got up and sighed in exasperation.
"Hello Blitzwing." He said as he walked over and hugged him tightly.
"Hey dad... I um... need to talk to you... when you have time." He said as he glanced at Beta nervously. Megatron nodded slowly and looked at the angry woman.
"Beta my dear..." he whispered as he gripped her shoulders and kissed her cheek. She sputtered and whacked at his arms, but he didn't let go.
"Don't sweet talk me." She hissed angrily and folded her arms. "I'm still mad at you." He rolled his eyes and kissed her neck then picked a flower and handed it to her. He whispered sweet nothings into her ear and made her blush deeply.
"Stop it. I'm still mad at you for killing my vegetables. I-" she stopped as he hugged her closer and rested his forehead against hers. She stared into his eyes as she tried to stay mad, but it didn't work too well.
"Why... do you... do this to me?" She whispered quietly as she leaned against him. Blitzwing smiled a little as his father calmed the woman from her rage.
"Because my dear, you shouldn't be upset." He whispered quietly as he stroked her cheek with his thumb. He could tell she still wanted to be mad at him, but couldn't seem to.
"Why don't I finish dinner for you?" He said and she huffed angrily as she narrowed her eyes.
"Stop trying to get on my good side." She scolded and stormed into the house. Megatron sighed forcefully and rubbed his face in irritation.
"She needs chocolate." Blitzwing said seriously as he watched his frustrated father.
"You have no idea." The older man growled lowly and went back to his garden. The air was silent for a while before Blitzwing decided on what to say.
"I have something important to ask you... or tell you... and-"
"You've heard from Steeljaw?" Megatron asked hopefully as he looked up at him. His younger son hesitated as he watched his father. The look in his eyes made him feel guilty. He wanted to say yes, even if it wasn't true.
"No... I'm sorry dad..." he mumbled and looked at the ground. Megatron stared at him then hung his head. They were silent for a few minutes then the young man sighed shakily.
"Dad. Are you working with the mafia again?" He asked as he narrowed his eyes. Megatron frowned deeply and looked at him with a dark expression.
"No. You know better than anyone that I left that behind. Why would you ask me that?" He growled angrily. Blitzwing blinked in surprise and held his hands up defensively.
"Easy pops... I just needed to know." He said seriously. "I ran into some problems at the hospital." He mumbled.
"What kind of problems?" He asked as he stood up. He narrowed his eyes as he brushed the dirt off his hands. Blitzwing hesitated then looked to the house. He didn't see Beta and decided it was safe.
"The DJD... Decepticon Justice Division." He whispered. Megatron froze and paled a little before he looked to the house.
"That's not possible... no... they shouldn't be here." He mumbled and shook his head.
"Dad don't lie to me. Are you working with the mafia or not?" He asked again as he narrowed his eyes. Megatron glared back and looked at him.
"No. I left that behind." He seethed angrily through gritted teeth. The two glared at each other for a while before Blitzwing decided he was telling the truth.
"Sorry... I just had to check." He mumbled and glanced at the house again. "We should probably tell Beta-"
"No." His father said quickly and stared at him. "I don't want her to worry. We'll go into town and see if we can find them. Figure out who they work for." He said seriously. His son nodded slowly and the two headed inside to make a plan.

The street was dark as the sun disappeared over the horizon. The moonless night only becoming darker as the clouds rolled in. A lone man stared up at the sky then narrowed his eyes. He glanced across the street and noticed another man. They watched each other then nodded once. Ahead of them they saw a car where a third man waited patiently. They quietly got in and drove off to an unknown location.
"Did he succeed?" A man asked who was sitting in the passenger side. They hadn't realized he was there, but weren't surprised in the least.
"What do you think?" One of the men sneered. "I had to take him out before he said too much." He smirked as he fiddled with a knife. The driver glanced at his leader who was in the passenger side. He didn't seem happy about the news.
"You probably shouldn't have-" a deathly scowl made the driver stop talking.
"Don't tell me what I should and shouldn't do." He said unusually calm. "We have a plan and need to keep to it." He explained.
"Ya except we're letting someone boss us around and the plan seems-"
"If you wish to keep your tongue. I suggest you hold it, Vos." The man said and glanced at someone on the street.
"When is our estimated arrival, Helix?" The man in the back asked. He had two scars on his face that made an X shape. No one knew how he received it though.
"Calm down Tesarus." The driver growled lowly and glared through the rear view mirror.
"Man I wish Kaon and Pet could have come." Vos sighed forcefully as he leaned back in his chair.
"I assigned them to a special mission. Besides, Pet is hard to keep track of at times." The leader said seriously. They fell silent as they came to their hideout. The four men got out and unloaded the vehicle then went inside.
"I see you made it back in one piece." A man greeted as he adjusted his sunglasses. A giant wolf stood by his side and growled threateningly. "Easy Pet." The man said and heard the others walk off somewhere.
"The sniper failed but apparently that was part of the plan." Vos muttered as he folded his arms angrily. "We could have taken him out." He huffed and wandered off.
"Is there something you wish to tell us, Tarn?" Kaon asked as he narrowed his eyes. The leader stopped suddenly and looked at him then frowned deeply.
"No. I have only been told a few things at a time, therefore I only know what each of you know." He said seriously and walked into the main building. Leaving the others in the garage part. He looked around and up to the rafters for a moment.
"Where's Nickel?" He asked as he looked at Kaon who walked to his side.
"Being angry again. She was furious when I told her I didn't clean the kitchen." He muttered bitterly. Tarn sighed and went to the said room.
"Nickel I think-" He ducked as a cup was thrown at his head. He glared at the broken mug that was now on the floor.
"Don't even think about coming in here and apologizing!" She spat as she snapped her fingers. "You boys never do what you're told and never take care of yourself!" She shouted and stormed over.
"I don't-"
"You never have time for anything I say!" She snapped angrily and glared up at him. She was barely five foot, while the shortest of the men was six. They didn't dare anger the short young woman if they could help it.
"Did-"
"Aw no! I am not having any more of your excuses!" She yelled and stormed passed him to the others. "Tess! I told you not to go anywhere today! When are you going to listen to your doctor?!"
"But Nickel-"
"Don't 'but Nickel' me! Get to your room young man and put that injured leg up!" She snapped and smacked his shoulder.
"Ow! I got hit there earlier!" He protested as he went to the stairs.
"Oh well sorry!" She said sarcastically and scolded the others for something. Tarn sighed forcefully and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Sometimes I don't know why we keep her." Vos grumbled as he walked over and rubbed his arm where she hit. Tarn narrowed his eyes and looked at him. His expression was dark and dangerous.
"Never say something like that again." He seethed angrily and left to meet with the man in charge of them. Kaon glanced at his friend then followed his leader.
The two men followed Tarn to the bigger part of the building. They went through a secret door which hid their living quarters, then up the elevator to the main floor. Tarn led them to a dimly lit room and they went inside. A man sat at a desk as he looked things over. Another man quietly spoke with him as they discussed something.
"We did as you commanded us." Tarn said as his men stood behind him. The man looked up and smirked as he stood.
"Good. I have a new task for you. However I don't want you to kill this victim." He said and handed him a simple file with the information they needed.
"Current location?" The leader asked as he read the name.
"At his home or at work. Why does it matter?" A new voice said. The Decepticon Justice Division looked to the other side of the room as a man approached.
"Ah yes. Gentlemen, this is our new addition to the team. He'll be the medic for our-"
"We have a medic." Tarn spoke out of turn and narrowed his eyes. "And she doesn't need assistance." He said seriously. The newcomer chuckled and smirked darkly.
"I don't wish to harm her. I only ask that you take care of my target. Though my only request is that I come along." He smiled wickedly. Tarn stared at him for a moment then nodded once. Their employer chuckled and went back to his desk again.
"I understand why Megatron liked having one of these. Are you aware that you may have family members on the list I'm making?" He asked as he looked at Tarn.
"Yes. I am well aware of that." He said seriously.
"And how do you feel about this?" The employer asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"I see no problem." He responded coldly and handed the file to Vos. "I am actually looking forward to it." He said without any emotion. The other man smirked and motioned for them to leave. The new comer followed him back to the living quarters.
"Shockwave. Finish the list. We need to set everything into motion." He said and started to write a few more things down. The scientist nodded once and went back to the list.
Writing both his brothers names on it.
