Ruhana left the room and moved to the side.. Her father's name was flashing on the screen. She pressed the Green icon and attached the cell to her ear. And her father's voice hit her ear.. 

"beta main kab se call kar raha hoon! Kahan thi tum? Tum thik toh ho?" He asked, concern and tension was clearly audible in his voice.. 

Ruhana smiles slightly at his concern" Papa Shant.. Haan Main thik hoon.. Abhi Main hospital mei hoon! Phone silent mode pe tha, mujhe pata nahi chala aap call kar rahe hain, sorry" She apologizes.. 

"ooh!! Koi nahi.. Main ghabra gaya tha,"He sighs, "Main aur tumhari mumma Mumbai pahuch gaye, abhi thode time pehle hamari flight land hui. Yahi batane ke liye call kar raha tha main. Meine Raunak se bola tha aane ko, lekin shayad wo bhool gaya. Anyways, beta mujhe hotel ka naam message kar do. Hum taxi se chale jayenge!" Her father informed. 

Ruhana was startled, 

"Raunak!? Aapne usse kyun bataya ki aap yahan aa rahe ho." She sighs, how can he not tell her about this? 

"kyun beta, koi problem hai kya? Usne kuch kiya kya?" Her father asked, his voice laced with suspicion. 

"Nahi, nahi! Aisa kuch nahi hai Papa. Usne kuch nahi kiya, bas main batane nahi chahti thi usse. You know naa, aab wo aapke aage piche karega apne kaam chor ke, issliye." She clarifies, partly true but most of the time she finds it too weird. 

Raunak, her one of the good friends. Her break up news had spread like fire among her friends and relatives, and Raunak came to see her the moment he got the news and comforted her. He also offered to converse with Daksh and sort out the matter, but she denied, she didn't needed a mediator to link them or pull them together because if love was there, she believe, Daksh would come all by himself but it didn't happen, he never came to mend the things between them. 

When Raunak, despite knowing her resolution to never get into any relationship, accepted the proposal set to him by her parents. She confronted him and all he said was he had to say yes because her parents have high hopes and he doesn't want to break their trust. It was all because of him that her father ordered, yes, he did order her to accept Raunak, reason being the news of her relationship with Daksh was spread wide and the marriage thing was hype up, so he doesn't wanted to get all the assaults Ruhana might face, hence, Raunak was a safe game. After the announcement of the engagement, she had not shared a word with him but Raunak was always sweet and caring towards her parents. He's always there for them no matter what they say, he will do that. And that was something her parents liked in him and thought to tie them in a knot. As they find him perfect for their daughter, unlike Daksh who left just like that. 

Her father laughed,"toh tumhe uske mere aage piche karne se problem hai, haan!?Chalo koi nahi,main usse keh dunga wo tumhare aage piche kiya kare." he spoke teasingly making her chuckled - some fake laughs can make the other happy, isn't it!? 

Talking to him for a few minutes she disconnected the call and messaged him the address of the hotel. She let out a deep sigh, things are going to be hard now that her parents will be here, they will surely find out about Daksh and she knows her father will be really upset with it, but she can't help it. She didn't choose all this to happen, it's going with its own flow. 

After attending the call, she moved back towards Vineet ward, when found Daksh coming out of the room with the support of Maya. Her one hand was around his waist and one was on his shoulder. Her lips were curled up in a smile and her eyes were fixed at his face.

Ruhana feels uncomfortable but she can't do anything, afterall she's (Maya) his fiancee now and she (Ruhana) is not even a friend. They are more like strangers, a known stranger. Close yet far, connected by heart but parted. She wonders how that night changed their lives so drastically.

Everything was good one moment and everything fell apart the other. One moment they were intensely connected the other moment they were strangers. One moment she wanted to claim him and the other moment she wanted to throw up even at the mention of his name. 

She sighs, as they disappear from her sight, her memories dying down. 

She put on a smile on her face and moved to Dr. Aggrawal (her head doctor) to discuss the case with him. She really has many important tasks on hand then to think about her past. 

…. 

Vineet ward.. 

Vineet was lying on his bed silently staring at the ceiling. Many questions were running in his head. Moreover he was disturbed and tensed for Daksh, his recent action has scared him. He was fearful, what if he again did something like this? What if he had not gained consciousness at that moment? The what ifs were many with no answer of any and this question was hunting him.

At the Same time, some faces that he came across recently seem to be known to him. Actually,he finds it really weird how it feels so known to him even though he knows that he doesn't know them nor met them ever in life but then, he can't help what's running in his conscience. 

Raunak and Maya's face was flashing in front of his eyes every now and then whenever he closed his eyes or tried to sleep, he was really confused with this. Their faces, so crystal clear in his sleep, their expression dark and anger engulfed them fully. The gate in their eyes was clearly visible but again, he has never seen them before, how is that even possible. 

"Ye kya ho raha hai, inn dono ke chehre kyun dikh rahe hai mujhe." He thought, placing his hand on his head. 

Suddenly, he feels slight pain in his head, his eyes turn heavy and he falls asleep, as Daksh has given him medicine without his knowledge and it is the effect of medicine that he fell asleep but their faces are still hunting him. 

….

Dr. Aggrawal cabin.. 

Dr. Aggrawal, Dr. Mathur and Ruhana were discussing about the case.. 

"Dr. Mathur, aab hum kya kare aap hi bataiye. Abhi jab hamari patient ki condition thodi thik ho gayi toh aapke Dr. Shergill ko health issues ho gaye. Ek do din ke observation ke badh hum operation ka soch rahe the par aab ye possible toh hai nahi. Dr. Shergill abhi khud ko nahi sambhal sakte, fir hum operation ki responsibility toh unhe de nahi sakte. Meri toh kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai." Dr. Aggrawal said. He is unaware of the fact that Daksh tried to commit suicide, as Dr. Mathur strictly warned every staff member of the hospital to not disclose the news as it might pull media attention and unnecessary stress. 

Dr. Mathur looked at him, "abhi health issues toh kissi ko bhi ho sakte hai na Dr. Aggrawal, ispe kissi ka control toh hai nahi. But you don't have to worry, meine kuch specialists se discuss kiya hai ye case. Let's see wo kya bolte hai and Dr. Shergill, wo bhi jaldi thik ho jayenge. " Dr. Mathur assures him.

"Waise, dono bhai totally opposite hai na!?Kahan Dr. Shergill serious type, apne kaam mei busy aur unka bhai kya naam hai!?V.. Vineet.. Haan!,"He laughed, ”Usko chahe toh acting line dal sakte hai Dr. Shergill, Hahahaha, aur unki wo fiancee, sorry to say, lekin mujhe wo kuch Paagal lagti hai, aapne notice kiya wo kaise ghoorti rehti hai," Dr. Aggrawal laughed at his own statement. 

Ruhana and Dr. Mathur was just staring at him, they didn't find it funny at all. 

"Doctor, hum dusro ke baare mei soche uss se aacha apne case ke baare mei soch lete hain!" Ruhana spoke, as she knew Dr. Aggrawal, likes to pass comments on others and if they appreciate him now, he would make it a mess. 

Dr. Aggrawal glanced at her, "Okayy." he agreed, realising the fact that the other two are not interested in his gossip so, they concentrated on the case. 

… 

Daksh ward… 

Maya helped him to lay down on the bed and herself settled down on the stool which was already present there. 

Daksh was really confused by her presence around him. He thought to ask her why she was here. He turned to her and found her gaze fixed on him. He clears his throat, she comes out of her dreamland and blinks her eyes, pulling herself into reality. 

He was about to say, when the door of his room opened and a person entered inside. Daksh was left surprised to see the person. He didn't expect him here, at least not at the hour. 

"Hello Dr. Daksh Shergill, I guess maine aapko disturb toh nahi hi kiya hoga!?" The person spoke as he marched towards them followed by his two assistants.. 

He is ACP Vikrant Singhal, Vineet case is under him. Today he's here, as he got some strong evidence and so he wanted to talk with Daksh personally. 

Daksh tried to sit up but couldn't because of weakness, Maya immediately led her helping hand towards him. She made him sit, Vikrant smiled sarcastically.

"Inspector aap yahan aachanak!?" Daksh asked, gazing at him confusedly.

"aab kya karun aana pada. Aapke itne taano ke badh aakhir hamari police force jaag hi gayi. Toh socha aapse personally mil ke thank you kaha jaaye!" Vikrant spoke smiling, a tinge of sarcasm filled his voice. 

Daksh gave him a confused look, while Maya shivered at the mention of Police. She feels her body freezing, her limbs turning dead, the blood in her body drying up vigorously. 

Vikrant glanced at her, 

"Devi jii aap bahar jaayengi please? Kya hai naa, mujhe doctor Saab se kuch important baat karni hai, akele mei. Mere jaane ke badh aap fir aa Jaana,haq se!!" He spoke, observing her expressions. 

She immediately moves out of the room without wasting a moment, Vikrant smiles looking at his two sub - inspectors.

He turned to Daksh, "Arey doctor Saab aapne Bhai ka ilaaz karte karte aap toh khud bimar ho gaye, very bad!" He smirk and settled down on the stool. 

Daksh gazes at him, "Aapke yahan aane ki wajah? Kya important baat karni hai aapko mujh se?" He asked, straightforward. 

Vikrant smiled, "aab kya batau aapko.. Pichle teen mahine se lagatar aapki baatein sun sun ke mujhe lagta hai, mujhe bhi koi problem ho gayi hai. Toh socha aapse consult karlu ek baar. Par yahan toh aap khud bed pe pade hue hai, mera ilaaj kya ji karenge aap!?" He throws a teasing smile at him. 

Daksh gave him a confused look, Vikrant spoke further,"do you know one thing Dr. Shergill, itna pressure toh hamare upar kabhi CM ka nahi aaya jitna aapka aaya. Har dusre din call karke police walo ko hi torture kar diya aapne toh. You're such a pain in our ass!!"

" Mere bhai pe attack kisne kiya "

" Mere bhai ke saath kyun sab hua "

" aapki police force soti rehti hai" 

"aapki police force ek case tak solve nahi kar sakti" 

Aur naa jaane kya kya sunaya hai aapne humei.. Ufff.. 

He mimicked him, 

"Aap bhi kuch kamal ke hai lekin nahi!?? Bhai ka accident hua lekin mere bhai se kuch maat pucho kyunki uski memory loss ho chuki hai. Waah, kya baat hai. Agar victim se na puche toh puche kis se hum!?" Vikrant raised his brow

"Dr. Shergill, aapka bhai  3 mahine pehle kya hua wo bhale hi nahi bata sakta, lekin jo accidents uske aab ho rahe hai uske baare mei toh bata sakta hai na!? But noo, doctor Saab ko sab apni marzi se karna hai!"

His expression turned dark, while Daksh gaze at him startled. Trying to figure out what he is trying to do!? 

"Aapne pyare bhai ko kharoch aate nahi dekh sakte fir, police ki tight investigation mei kaise fasne de, nahi!?" 

Daksh was fully puzzled by his words, Vikrant was speaking non stop and that too which is of no use.

"aapko baat kya karni hai ACP?" Daksh finally broke his silence.. 

Vikrant looked at him,"main ek baat se bahut confused hoon Dr. Shergill. Kya hai naa, meine suna hai aapko apne bhai se bahut pyar hai. Chot usse lagti hai dard aapko hota hai. Fir main ye soch raha hoon, jab aapko apne bhai se itna pyar hai toh TEEN MAHINE pehle aapka wo pyar kahan gaya tha, jo aapne apne bhai ko MAAR - MAAR ke GHAR SE NIKAL DIYA tha aur saath hi ye bhi keh diya tha ki aaj se aapki maa ka ek hi beta hai aur wo hai aap.. Kaise!!???" He asked, grinning.

Daksh was left shocked by the revelation, he has never thought that this truth will come up in front of him like this. Sweat dropped form on his face, his body turned cold, he felt his pulse dropping. 

Vikrant wiped them with his finger,"Ye kya, aapko toh pasina chut gaya doctor Saab," He smiles sarcastically, "Aap aaj tak hamare piche pade rahe lekin kabhi humei puri investigation nahi karne di, shayad issliye kyunki aapko pata tha aur hai uss din kya hua tha? Aapke bhai ke saath jo hua wo aapke ghar se nikale jaane ke badh hua. Aap bahut gusse mei the, kahin aisa toh nahi aapne hi wo accident…" He was not able to complete his sentence as Daksh shouted.

"Vikrant!!" Daksh roar.

Vikrant bent towards him,"kya hua doctor Saab, gussa aa gaya?? Kyun?? Aapne nahi karwaya kya accident??" He asked, receiving a fiery glare from Daksh.

"Chalo maan liya aapne accident nahi karwaya aapne Bhai ka. Lekin aab bhi ek bahut bara confusion hai mujhe." Vikrant said, glancing at him.

"Kya aapko nahi lagta ki abhi aapko apne pyare bhai aur iss case pe dhyan dena chahiye kyunki aapko toh pata hi hai, aapke bhai ke piche log haath dho ke pade hai. Lekin aap aise main bhi apni comfort ka soch rahe hai doctor Saab, Really? Aapka shadi karna itna important hai aapke liye? Bhai itni kya zaldi hai aapko shadi ki Haan!? Kuch din pehle hi toh break up karke aaye ho thoda thand pao. Meine toh suna tha break up ke badh log diljale aashiq ban jaate hain par aap toh yahan apni  fiancee ke saath guftagu mei kuch jyada hi masroof laag rahe hain. Lagta hai bahut kamzor pyar tha aapka, ye fir aap bore ho gaye the apni girlfriend se." He laughs earning a tough glare from Daksh. 

"Aapke yun ghoorne se kuch nahi hone wala hai Dr. Shergill, aab ye case kaise solve karna hai wo main janta hoon. Aur jo bhi iske piche hai, uska wo haal karunga ki aap soch bhi nahi sakte!" He exclaims and moves back, sitting straight on the stool.

"Game toh aab start hua hai, aab aap dikhte jaiye kaise police force kaam karti hai. Asli maza toh aab aayega Dr. Shergill. " He winked at him and stood up.

"khayal rakhiyega apna doctor saab, abhi toh bahut kuch dekhna Baaki hai, fir milta hoon!" He smiled at him meaningfully and left the room leaving Daksh shocked.

The truth he just put on in front of him was horrible, when did he get engaged and with whom?? 

His eyes widened, when he realized the reality. And once again anger builds up in his nerves. How can she do this to him that too without his knowledge? He hit his hand on the table and it fell down with a loud thud. Things are actually really messed up. He regrets being alive now!!
