Part 9
“I am yours and I will be yours, forever”- Gauri
Gauri Kumari Sharma
It has been a week since I am witnessing this side of my hus.. Omkara. I still don’t have guts to still give him my already broken heart once again. I don’t have the confidence to love him exactly the way I used to love him two years ago. These years have changed a lot in my life. I have learned to stand up on my already broken legs multiple times after falling, without anyone’s help. And now he is there claiming to take all my pain away with mere a try and me being the one in lo.. like have already started to trust him. I don’t know myself what has happened to me or what took over me to tell him that yes I do trust him but yes I did.
And surprisingly he didn’t disappoint me. He is trying his level best to do it. I can see it. I can see how much he is trying to be a good father to Anaya and frankly I am happy with that much only. At least he is trying to mend his relationship with his daughter and being a mother, this is enough for me. But it seems like it isn’t enough for him. He is trying t win my heart too; but little does he know that an already broken heart can never be mended. He was the one who himself crushed it under the feet of his undying ego every single day I was with him. I would not say that I regretted living with him but yes what I would say is I don’t know will I ever be able to give my heart to him or not.
“Maa... Maa” came Anaya running to me. “dadaaa... is taking me to park” she said jumping and clapping her hand in excitement. I smiled at her. “Good” I said caressing her cheek. “Maa.. maa come... come...” she held my hand and started dragging me with her. “Maa isn’t coming princess” I heard his voice from the door as he stood with his hands clasped at the back and eyes trained on me. “Why?” Anaya pouted. “Because maa isn’t well” he sounded sweet. Too sweet for that matter as I rolled my eyes. “But I want maa. I won’t go” Anaya said tying her hands to her chest.
Stubborn girl. Yeah just like you.
“Anu, don’t talk like that. Dadaa said naa that he is taking you. Be a good girl and go with him bachcha” I said holding her shoulder. “No” and she pouted again. “Anu.. I said maa isn’t okay bachcha. She can’t go” he said tilting Anaya’s chin to him. “Then I Anaya too no go” I rolled my eyes at her stubbornness. “Anuuuu...” said Omkara in a too calmed tone when I know he would have shouted by now.
Does being parent actually change your attitude? Probably
“Noooooo... Nooooo.. Noooooooooo” she shouted and sharply tilted her head in the other direction away from me and him. “Okay I am coming” I sighed. What way did I have? “But your leg?” he questioned. “I did it before too. Remember I was alone for these two years?” I asked him genuinely. And I could see his face falling as I regretted saying that. “I.. I didn’t mean...” he cuts me “I know I know. It will take time to forget it” he again answered in the same calm tone.
“But how will you go?” he asked with concerned eyes. “You aren’t even allowed to get up from this bed” he completed. “I don’t know. But I can’t see her like this. She was too upset” I looked at Anaya who was now happily playing with her Mr bear. “I know but still. How will you manage?” I simply shrugged. “Uff woman” he closed his eyes and shook his head. “Okay let me think of something” I looked at her. “I am not using a crutch or a wheelchair. I don’t want to look weak” I cleared gaining a look from him; which was anything but anger. “And I wasn’t planning also” he said as my eyebrows furrowed. “What do you mean? Don’t tell me you are planning to stroll around picking me bridal style and he smirked. “No... no way” and he picked me up “Chalein princess” and I saw Anaya running towards us. “Okay dadaa” she smiled with her teddy in her arms.
‘Dadaa’s princess’ I rolled my eyes
“Okay we reached” he said and opened the car door. “Yeahhhh” said Anaya. He went and opened Anaya’s door and unbuckling the belt he picked and moved her out. “Now your turn Jaan” my eyes widened “No... don’t you dare” I warned but everything in vain. He still picked me up “Hell!! This is embarrassing” I hid my face in his chest as I heard him chuckle as we entered the park. I could feel every eye on me and that was irritating. “We should have used a wheel chair instead” I murmured. “And miss this chance to walk with you in my arms... na.. . never” he chuckled even more loudly as I slapped his chest playfully.
We went near a bench as he carefully helped me to sit with my legs all over the bench. Wee, this the thing I don’t like at all. I can’t even sit like normal people do. I tried to keep my legs down when “No, don’t even try to” he kept them up again. “I don’t like this. Why can’t I be normal?” I said in anger looking at my legs. “You are normal. You are very normal. It’s just that everyone has a defect and you have this” I looked at him. “Look at me, I have a mountain size ego which is never ready to give up on me. But do I complaint that I am not normal? No right?” he sat near me. “Some people have defects that are visible and some have those who are invisible. But each and every one of us has it. Now stop thinking this rubbish and enjoy the breeze” I sighed.
I heard him sigh too as his eyes were roaming as if trying to find something. “Okay, do you eat sand?” he asked. I looked at him with my furrowed eyebrows “What?”. “Answers only please. Do you eat sand?” I shook my head in a no. “Do you eat witch?” another stupid question I shook my head in a no again. “Don’t you eat a sandwich?” I laughed. How stupid of a joke this was?
Omkara Singh Oberoi
“Don’t you eat sandwich?” I said finding myself a fool cracking such a joke. But I succeeded as she laughed. I just stared at her as a small smile automatically crept my face. “Okay that.... was.... Oh y God... my stomach” she kept on laughing. “That was bad” she said. “But your laughter doesn’t tell the same” I pointed at her. “It was only to please you “as her eyes widened and she immediately shifted her eyes down. I tucked two of my fingers on her chin moving it to me. “Please me wifey huh?” I smirked. “Shut up” he hits my arm. Cannot someone tell her that it isn’t of any use?
It was about an hour that we were still there in the park. As if the sun didn't wanted us to leave. All it wanted was us to stay and in response it hid itself admist the clouds in the sky. Anaya was still playiong happily with her friends and especially her Mr. Bear which God knows why had become her favourite toy. I saw Gauri sighing as she had still, putting her legs down thing, running in her mind. She will never understand. I sighed heavily. But I too am Omkara Singh Oberoi, a man who never loses wheather a business deal or his love's heart. So what I could do was sit biside her legs, giving her no space to put them down. She gave me a I-know- what-are-you-soing glare and I smirked in return. It was needed anyway.
"Dadaa.. Dadaa.." came Anaya running to me. "Dadaa.. ishhcream" she said . "Okay.. let's go" I said picking her up. "Wait" I heard her voice. "Ice-cream in this weather is harmful" Mothers; I rolled my eyes. "We aren't eating a whole bucked. Just a small cone is of no harm" I said. "No.. still that is harmful" she answered. "Maa pleaseeeeeeeeeeee" said Anaya stressing on the 'e'. "No" again. And Anaya did what she and I both knew that works. She started crying. "Achcha okay. But only a small cone okay?" Gauri sighed. "Okay maa" Anaya wiped her fake tears as I chuckled. "What are you laughing for?" She asked me. "Nothing..." I said strolling may way to the ice-cream stand.
We were still eating ice-cream when I heard a gunshort suddlenly. My eyebrows furrowed as I took Anaya in my arms and started to the bench where Gauri sat; to take both of them home. As I reached the place What I saw was even though more shocking.
"So you b**ch will snatch my Omkara from me huh?" said a voice. "Riddhima" came out of my throat automatically. "You are leaving me for this woman? Hell she can't even stand by her own Omkara" said the woman with a gun in her hand. "Riddhima back off" I shouted. "Back off?" she chuckled humorlessly" Why do you think I am here Omkara? Not to back off obviously" Ridhhima said in a venomous tone. "Riddhima I said back off. dare you did anything I am warning you" I said snuggling my little one even more close to my chest.
"You know what? Killing a bl**dy handicapped woman won't give me any satisfaction. Rather" she pointed the gun in my direction. "How about killing you instead. Agar tum mere nahi ho toh kisi ke bhi nahi hoge Om If you aren't mine, you will be of no one else's" she looked at me with the same venomous eyes.
Gauri Kumari Sharma.
She pointed the gun at his direction "How about killing you instead. Agar tum mere nahi ho toh kisi ke bhi nahi hoge Om If you aren't mine, you will be of no one else's" she had the same venomous eyes.
No.. No this can't be hapenning. I can't let this happen. Lose him once more is not anyway an option. I am not going to let this happen. "Riddhima stop" I shouted. "You have a problem with me right? Kill me and leave them. I request you. Please don't do anything with my family" I said. "You know what b**ch, I have seen how it is to live without him and without any assurance of him getting back to my life. And I want you too see the same. And for that... HE. HAS. TO. DIE" and her gaze shifted to him back again. "Get ready Mr Omkara Sigh Oberoi" she said.
And I know what to do. And I did it. The gun shot and it hitted a body. The body collpsed down on the ground. "Nooo. Gauri.. nooo" I heaard his voice as I felt my head on a lap. "Noo.. Jaan plese keep with me.." said he. "I.... I... still... aaah.. lo.. love.. you... the... the.. way.. aah.. i..di...did e..before. Ahhh.. I.. am.. you...yours.. and I... I.. will.. will.. be.. yo... yours... for... forever..." I managed out of my braking throat. "Noo.. you aren't going anywhere understand... Jaan.. noo... nooo.. Gauri... Gauri..." "Maaaa... Maaaaa" I heard faint voices before the darkness consumed me.
