"Bola tha naa, tumhe saath leke hi jaunga" - Omkara

2 months later

Omkara Singh Oberoi

"Anaya, please sit quietly bachcha. How am I supposed to dress you if you keep doing like this" I told my almost two year daughter who was constantly moving while I was struggling with her ribbon. "Nooo.. no..." said she shaking her head. "What no?" I asked kneading my eyebrows at her. "This" she pointed at her hairstyle. I huffed. This is the third time she is telling me this. "Not again Anu. This is the third time. Keep it as it is" I said. "No...." she again shook her head. I sighed. "Okay, but this is the last time. Okay" she nodded. Well that doesn't matter. She had already said it two times.

"Dadaa noooo..." and here it goes again. I huffed. But seriously there was no anger. Sometimes I doubt myself. Am I the same Omkara Singh Oberoi? The one who had his anger at peak all the time? And now this little girl is making me work out the same thing again and again and what am I doing? Just following her orders? Like seriously Omkara, says my mind. Seriously buddy, I replied back.

"Finally ready for the day" I said huffing again. Because you know I have to dress her up again tomorrow. "Dadaa.. godi" she said stretching her arms. "Achcha come" I picked her up and we strolled around the room adjusting her room, which she doesn't used for the time she was born, but still we were adjusting it. I picked up her toy box which had numerous toys and examined it. She had a huge collection as to say. I picked one up and saw a doll with a blue dress "Cinderella" she told me. And as I was still watching it she snatched it from my hand "buri baat" she said. My eyebrows furrowed. And then I heard a voice.

"Cookies anyone" came the voice as we turned towards it. "Maaaaa..." she shouted and moved towards her getting off my arms. "Cookies princess" and she nodded her head. "Please keep it there" said she to the help. Well, it was my plan to keep the help, till the time Gauri again stands on her feet. I wanted it to be forever but then it was her who said no. Women!! I tell you. I went near the cookies and as I was about to pick one up "not for you Mr Oberoi" she snatched the plate. "What do you mean, not for me?" I asked her. But again no answer.

I tell you the reason. Yesterday me and dad were out for a 'boy's hang out' and as usual w drank a little. A little. But God knows where did she and mom got to know and the rest is there. My state is still good whereas dad isn't even allowed to come out of the room. "Achcha suno toh sahi" I try to talk to her. "Bilkul nahi Anaya. Bola naa. I said what I said" she was looking at Anaya as if talking to her. Okay so no talking to me. I nodded my head and headed to her and kissed her cheeks and as usual she didn't reply.

"What does Anaya do when I kiss her cheek?" I asked her. "Anaya kisses" replied my daughter. "Good so what should maa do?" I asked her. "Maa kiss" said she holding Gauri's hand. "Maa should kiss" I looked in her eyes, boring them into hers. "Maa kiss" said Anaya and I smirked. "I should have slapped you instead" she said in a dangerous voice. "As if" I laughed and so did my daughter. "Maa kiss" said Anaya again. And finally she kissed my cheeks. I smiled and I and my daughter high-fived. I saw her face and I laughed more. There was a blush. "Someone is blushing" I said and she eyed me with a you-are-impossible look.

"Is my Anaya ready?" came mom. "Readyyyyy" Anaya shouted. "Okay then... dad- poti day today" mom said taking Anaya in her arms. "Bohot pareshhan kiya aapli poti nein. She made me do her hair six times" I complained. "Shut up. You have to do it. My granddaughter has to look the best. Right Anaya?" mom said looking at Anaya. "Right dadii" she wrapped her arms around mom and hugged her. "And you dare to open the room before two hours. I am not Gauri to forgive my husband this easily on drinking at such an age, when doctors have not allowed" she warned. "It was just a drink mom" and I got a glare. "Anything it was. If I said no then no" she said and moved towards her "take care beta. We will be back soon" Mom said to Gauri. "Alright Maa. Enjoy" she answered. Mom and Anaya went out waving a bye to us.

"Nervous?" I asked. "Very" she answered struggling with her fingers. "It will be good trust me. Just a few days more and you will be able to walk" I replied. "But still. I mean it has been fifteen days since my operation and I still am unable to walk. Sitting like a stupid on the wheel chair taking help from maids" she said making faces. I did what I could I sat down on my knees so that I have to face u to meet her eyes and I held her hand "everything will be fine and believe me this or that; I love you" and she hugged me tightly. "What if something..." I stopped her "Shh... Jo hona tha woh ho gaya. Ab kuch nahi" I said caressing her hair remembering the day.

Flashback

"Gauriii no.. stay with me.. don't close your eyes.... stay with me... " I kept shouting and hoping that she would be listening. "Doctor... Doctor..." I said shouting inside the hospital.

"Where are the damn doctors?" I asked the nurse standing just near me. "Sir, please calm down and try to keep your voice low. This is a hospital and we have patients" she said in a calm tone. "Keep quiet? My wife is lying unconcious with blood all over her body and you want me to bloody keep quiet? Where are the doctors?" I asked stll shouting. "What happened?" came a man in a while coat. "Sir this..." I cut the nurse "my wife has been shot" I answered. "Nurse arrange the operation theatre. The blood as already oozed out much. We have to operate her" said the doctor. Immediately two of wardboys rushed towards me with a stretcher and helped me place her on it. "Dont worry you will be okay" I said caressing her face with one of my hand and holdinh her hand with the other while still running with the stretcher. "If... somet.. something hap.. happens to.. m.. me... pl.. please take.. take care.. of your.. yourself an.. and An.. Anaya... and.. and tell.. her that.. that .. maa.. maa.. loves.. loves her..." she spoke with a lots of difficulty. "Chup... Chup bilkul. I said nothing is happening to you that means nothing is happenning to you, understand" I answered when they took the stretcher inside the operation theatre.

"What did the doctors say?" asked mom who visited just about thirty minutes before. "Nothing mom. They aren't saying anything. I tried asking the nurse but no replies" I answered with a choking voice. "It will be fine" she placed a hand on my shoulders. Not able to control myself I hugged her tightly "I can't lose her mom. I can't lose her again. She... she is everything mom. I can't lose her" I cried. "I know Om.. I know.. its okay.. she will be fine. Our Gauri is a fighter" she said rubbling my back. "Achcha hota ki main uski zindagi mein wapis hi naa aata. I should have left her alone and happy. She was good without me mom. My presence is always bad for her. I am bad for her" I kept crying. "If you were bad then God would not have chosen you for her Om. You have been chosen as her life partner because you are perfect for her; and things like this happen always. The thing is that you have to be strong and stand as a pillar to her. She and your daughter needs you the most right now" she kept rubbing my back.

"And don't tell me that my son cries at problems" I heard a voice that I had been waiting to hear since long. It was dad. "Dad" I said moving towards him. "Now listen to me Mr Omkara Singh Oberoi, I want my daugher and my grand-daughter back home; fit and fine" he said as more tears came rushing down my eyes. "Dad" I hugged my father after a very long time. And it felt good; as if all the positivity and hope came back to me. "She will be fine son. She is strong" he said caressing my hair. "I know that dad. I know" I answered.

"Mr Oberoi; your wife is fine. We have taken out the bullet and luckily it didn't hurt her at a sensitive area. Just make sure she rests a lot" I sighed in relief after two hors of tension. "Is she she fine?" asked dad. "She is. Doctors said the bullet didn't hurt any sensitive part so she is good. We just have to take good care of her" I answered. "Good" he said smiling. "When can we take her home?" dad asked the doctor. "In a day or two sir" the doctor said as dad nodded. "Can we meet her?" I asked this time. "Offcourse Mr Oberoi" and the doctor left. "Go" dad said and I went inside her ward.

She was sleeping; wrapped in the hospital gown under white sheets. I slowly went near her and holding her left palm between mine; I kissed her palms. "I told you; I won't let anything happen to you" I said still keeping her palms close to my face. After sometime I saw her opening her eyes "Om... Omkara" she said. "You are awake" I semi-shouted in excitement. "Are you okay? I asked her carefully helping her to sit. "I guess so" she smiled. I poured some water for her "Water" and she took it as i helped her to her mouth; gulping it down her throat. "Anaya?" she asked. Don't worry. She is safe with Annika and Shivaay. Mom and dad are here too" I informed her. "really?" she asked and I nodded.

"May we come in?" I heard dad asking. "Offcourse uncle" she said. Mom and dad came and sat near us. "How are you?" asked my mom. "Good. Now get well soon. The house is waiting for it's lakshmi since two years now" mom said caressing her face. "And please call us mom and dad. Uncle and aunty makes me feel old" he said and she chuckled. "Because you are old" mom answered. "But he is right. Call us mom and dad as Omkara does" mom said to her. "Okay aun.. mom" she smiled at mom "Okay then we are moving" dad said. "Get well soon beta" mom caressed Gauri's cheeks. "And you" she glared at me "take care of her" she said in a warning tone. "Aai aai captain" I answered faking a salute as they went out chuckling.

"Just two more days Mrs Oberoi" she smiled at the statement, blushing a little. "Bola tha naa, main tumhe saath leke hi jaunga" I said and kissed her cheeks and helped her to lay down.

'Just two days, and I will have my family back' I smiled caressing her hair.

Present.

"Will I be able to walk?" she asked me, still keeping her head in my chest. "You will be able to. I believe my heart" I said and hugged her tightly.

The epilogue is still left guys....
